Amazing place! Beds are very comfortable. Stuff is polite. Front dest Kate is very polite and beautiful. Hotel has Unique Victorian Style loved it! I would definitely recommend this place to anybody!!!
Service does not exist, beyond make beds and towels. Price is entirely reasonable for peak season, if not even a bit better than "entirely reasonable". Employees are summer folks from Europe who don't know much about the operation, but are at least polite.
The place is beyond cute. We had a "presidential suite" which had a microwave only kitchen, and a tiny, but useful shower.
A few bugs:
1) They are only open until 8:30 for check in, unless you pay a fee. Driving from far away is kind of sketchy as a result. We go there with plenty of time, but it could become seriously inconvenient. 2) You leave, not check out. They call it "electronic check out", not sure how that works, since you just clear out by 10AM and you're outta there. 3) The mattresses and springs are WAY WAY TOO SOFT. OUCH MY BACK, especially after a day's exercise in Yellowstone. Yowtch. Please, oh please, update those mattresses, and you'll get 5 stars.
So a mixed review, but it could be a great lot worse.
A renovated historic building, the Victorian inn offers tremendous old west charm but fell short on comfort. Read on for details.
As with everything else in Gardner, the Victorian inn offers great access to the northern entrance in Yellowstone. The architecture of the inn is clearly late 1800s but the finishings and furnishings have been updated to offer a more modern yet still quaint appearance. There is no elevator so if stairs are an issue for you make your reservation accordingly.
The room is nicely furnished and has a Victorian feel even though there is a modern refrigerator and coffee making set up there for you. The bathrooms were updated though our showerhead little water pressure. The bed, for me, was uncomfortably soft and the pillow uncomfortably mushy. The nights were quiet but inadequate coverings on the windows Prevent the room from becoming very dark at night and ensure that the morning light will be streaming in earlier than you want.
The Wi-Fi was effective.
So, there you have it: a charming, Quaint and uncomfortable hotel.
Very beautiful old hotel. Loved it a lot! Beds are comfortable. Stuff is friendly. Front desk guy Drew was very helpful and made sure we had a comfortable stay. Rooms are extremely clean. Victorian style is everywhere very unique place. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting Yellowstone.
I stayed here for just one night. It is an older place with history. Nice enough, but expensive and has paper thin walls (bring your earplugs). I was grateful for the in-room Keurig coffee maker so I could get an early start into Yellowstone.
