First off, if you are trying to decide between West Yellowstone or Gardiner to stay while visiting the park, (I cannot stress this enough) choose Gardiner! And if, like us, you don't want to spend a fortune to spend the night, you can't go wrong with Hillcrest Cottages. We loved this place, from the perfect location to the down-home, no...

While looking for a place to stay for 5 people, we went all over town in Gardiner and every hotel/motel had exorbitant rates. On our third attempt driving up the main street we saw the signs of Hillcrest Cottages and we were ecstatic to find a two bedroom cottage to accommodate everyone at an extremely reasonable rate! They even had...

We were a party of 2 and stayed at the Hillcrest for 7 great days. The cottages are small but very quaint. We had a nice view of the mountains from our little front porch. The owners and their son Michael were so pleasant and helpful. I have stayed in Gardiner many times but this was my first time at the...

Much more enjoyable experience than staying in a cookie cutter hotel room. The staff was great. A nice change of pace in our own little cottage and perfect place to rest after a long day in the park. Within walking distance to pretty much everything in town. Will definitely stay here next time we come to Gardiner...

We picked Hillcrest Cottages because they were attractive and a great location in Gardiner. The price, too, was attractive. After making reservations we changed them, no problem, no hassle. On our arrival we found that the little cabins that were so well kept on the outside were even nicer on the inside. Annie spent some time giving us some travel/tourist...

For the 3rd time now we have visited Gardiner, MT, we have picked Hillside Cottages. Do not confuse this for a 5-star resort. This is a lovely, family-run, clean, reasonably priced location. The staff is always helpful. We do not stop here for pools and amenities, we stay here as it is a lovely base for a couple days adventure...

In a world (town) full of over $200 a night Motel 6-type hotels, this place stands out, if for no other reason than rooms here - mostly individual cottages - cost half that. Although this is a pretty old place, it is spotlessly clean and in excellent shape. It's family owned and run, and the couple who owns it is...

We stayed in this cottage with two queen beds, a bathroom, and a kitchen on the night of July 15, 2015 while visiting Yellowstone National Park. The cottage was clean and comfortable, with a well-functioning shower and hot water. The kitchen was the type you might find in a small apartment. I hesitate to give this place any more than...

Nice thing about staying at a place where the owners are onsite is they care! Have stayed with Annie since about 1985 or so. This place is not fancy, but for touring the park and having a basecamp for fishing this is one fine place. Walking distance to the bars and restaurants so no need to worry about driving after...

First time to Montana. We stayed 4 days at Hillcrest Cottages. The owners Annie & Art are very sweet. Our little cottage was very clean. We loved it! Would definitely recommend this place. Several places to eat. If you want a "Great Steak" just across the street is Cowboys Grill. The nicest owner, and definitely GOOD food. A must place...
