Without advance reservations, we were lucky enough to get a room for the evening. It was a great. The innkeeper was incredibly friendly and laid back. We felt right at home. The room was cozy and clean. Another plus was that we were able to...More

What an AMAZING place to stay for our stay over Labor Day weekend visiting my son at the University of Montana! On the banks of the easy flowing river through campus and town, this converted, relocated University President's former home is "off the beaten path"...More
Despite Expedia's messing up our reservation (something we're told happens frequently), fortunately there were vacancies and inn manager Meg met us and booked us into a lovely, spacious room on the first floor with a fireplace--electric, but they don't want guests to burn the place...More

The Craighead room is one of my favorite rooms at Goldsmith's. It's on the first floor across from the kitchen but is quiet. It is a large room with a table/chairs and other sitting areas, a fireplace, TV, and bathroom. I believe it has a queen size bed. The room is very nicely decorated but doesn't have a river view. My husband and I were very comfortable in it. We haven't stayed in the Meadowlark room.
