Traveled to visit Glacier National Park and chose this hotel to spend the week. Check in was seamless with Jason Tietema, who continued to provide excellent service throughout our stay.
A+ for location, front desk staff: the location is a little over a mile from downtown Whitefish, a 24-hour grocery store within a block, and 30 min outside of Glacier National Park.
A+ for amenities: one of the biggest benefits was the list of items the hotel had on hand to borrow, for free. Instead of having to pay money to rent bear spray they had it available every day for us to pickup as we headed into the park. They also had rice cookers, slow cookers, two sizes of blenders, to name a few off the extensive list.
C for breakfast: the main breakfast attendant was NOT friendly or approachable. We asked if the blue jelly next to the oatmeal was huckleberry and she shrugged and said "I don't know" and walked off. On a different day I asked if there was more half and half only to have it grabbed from my hand with a huff, with zero verbal interaction. Definite downer to start the day.
D for housekeeping: this is what kept the overall rating from a 5. We requested housekeeping every day. Each day something that needed replaced was missed: paper towels, toilet paper, kleenex, kitchen towels. On our last day we returned from a long day in the park to find our room was not touched and we had used all of our bath towels the day before. Rhonda was quick to have a new set of towels sent to us, but housekeeping had left for they day and couldn't provide information on why they missed our room. I understand staffing is tough in that area as the peak season just ended and hope this hotel can find some dedicated personnel to keep.
Overall, would definitely visit this property when visiting the area in the future.

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Whitefish is a new extended-stay hotel just south of Whitefish in Montana. We stayed here for three nights and used it as a launching point for visits to Glacier National Park. It served well for this purpose, though it is a long drive to the east side of the park.
On the whole, our stay was mostly pleasant. The front desk staff were friendly and nice. The hotel is very new, clean, and modern. Our room had nice decor with posters from attractions in the area. The location was ideal for visiting attractions in Whitefish as well as the western side of Glacier National Park. Keep in mind that it is a 2 hour drive to the east side of the park.
There were significant downsides to the hotel. It was very expensive in late June. We were willing to pay the high price due to the location and access to a kitchen, but the price seemed out of line for the value delivered. Our studio apartments was very cramped. It had very little counter space in the kitchen, no plugs around the slide out desk area, and no counter space in the bathroom. There were also very limited places to hang items in the bathroom with no towel rack whatsoever.
The hotel was also nosy with no apparent sound insulation between rooms whatsoever. One morning the guests above us woke us up at 4:30 in the morning with what sounded like a calisthenics routine, but may have just been walking around.
Ultimately, we chose the TownePlace Suites because the our room featured a small kitchen. We made good use of the kitchen to prepare breakfast in our room very early in the morning so we could get a very early start to reach Glacier National Park ahead of crowds. We had the hotel breakfast on the last day, which was about what you would expect for a hotel breakfast with at least some eggs and basics.
Overall, the TownePlace Suites was pretty good, but there are probably better and less expensive options available.

We booked a room with a king bed, which we found to be nice and tidy. The only minor thing that grossed me out initially is that I found trash from a previous guest that was left in our room when we checked in. It wasn’t worth docking a star down for it. Our room had a spacious kitchenette including a two burner stove, large refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and a sink. In addition, the bathroom is spacious with a modern walk-in shower. The bed was also super soft and comfy.
The staff are genuinely friendly and courteous. Most importantly, they are doing a good job handling the current covid situation. The complementary breakfast is now a “grab and go” style where someone is behind the table and you pick out what you want instead of a self serve buffet like how it used to be. Colleen, who was one of the staff handling the food, was very helpful when she saw us struggling to put ice in our cooler for our day trip to Glacier NP. Every morning whenever she saw us, she gave us a pitcher to help us put ice in our cooler. That was really nice of her. Keep in mind that there’s no longer daily house keeping unless you stay for more than 7 days. You can call the front desk to request any extra supplies and they’re happy to help. As for the trash and linens/towels, simply put your used linen in the basket provided in your room and leave the trash bags outside your door before 9 AM and they will take it and leave you with new trash bags and linen. It was painlessly easy!

I am a pretty faithful Marriott’s customer, but this hotel stay was awful. The front desk staff are not helpful and incompetent on top of it. My room service did not get scheduled, even after I had requested a special day( they do do service every day). The breakfast was the most minimal I have ever seen! The staff who do the actual work are really trying, but this place needs management! For the money they charged we should have had a first class experience, instead would have done better at a motel 8!

Great base for GNP and surrounding sites! As a rewards member, I always try to find the most convenient Marriott, and this was an excellent choice. The hotel looks newer, and our room was exceptionally clean and spacious with a kitchen. The complimentary breakfast was very good with a wide variety of selections and ample seating. The pool and hot tub were closed for the season, but the area was very nice. There’s also a fire pit and cornhole to play. We also saw a shuttle out front but not sure where it goes. My only minor complaint is not getting a room on the top floor, which I always request and always get. The hotel was definitely not full by any means, so as a Gold member I don’t understand why this request could not have been honored. The people in the room above us were either rearranging furniture or bowling! Overall, this is a very nice hotel with clean rooms, great breakfast, and convenient location…about 20-25 minutes to GNP and 5 minutes to downtown Whitefish. Next visit to the area, this is my top choice.

Spent 3 nights here as Lifetime Titanium member using Marriott points (25K per night) on August 30. We were given Room 308 (not an upgrade) with 2 queen beds. This hotel is 2 years old and our room still felt pretty new.
The room was functional. We didn't really use the kitchen much other than putting some items in the full sized fridge. In the kitchen, there is also a dishwasher, microwave, stove top, paper towels, dish washing detergent. In addition, there was silverware, plates, pots and pans. The room also a large table which proved very convenient.
The purpose of our stay was to visit Glacier National Park. From the hotel to the Avalanche Lake parking, it takes 1 hour. To the Logan Pass Parking, it takes 1 hour and 40 minutes but I would allow 2 hours. During our time at Glacier NP, it was very crowded so we left the hotel very early (6 am for Avalanche and 5 am for Logan Pass) just to secure a parking spot. Thus, we were not able to grab breakfast at the hotel until the last morning.
On the last morning, we did get breakfast and they had hot sausage and egg biscuits available along with other cold items like cereal and yogurt. It was actually pretty tasty. Someone is there to serve you the food and coffee due to COVID.
Housekeeping is not available due to COVID. They have baskets for you to leave your towels inside the basket outside your room in the morning. Also, you leave the trash outside in the morning and it was emptied by the time we came back. I actually expected the towels to be replenished in the basket but it was not so I had to ask for extra supplies which they delivered to our room.
An ice machine is available on every floor.
No complaints about the room. It felt clean and fairly new. We did bring our own Clorox Wipes so we could wipe everything down.
The staff wore masks and so did the guests as required by Marriott.
We didn't eat out much while we were there. There are food options in Kalispell and Whitefish. I would recommend this hotel. The drive to Glacier NP can be long depending on where you are going. Due to COVID, the east side of the park was not open so staying in Whitefish wasn't as much of a big deal. You do need to leave early for popular parking lots like Avalanche Lake and Logan Pass if you want to secure a space.
Overall, we enjoyed the hotel and felt it was good value (points) for our stay.

This is a very clean and updated property. The room itself was nicely furnished, and the bed was super comfortable. Our son used the sleeper sofa which was okay, too. We liked the closet space which offered plenty of hangers and bins for storage. The breakfast was standard fare, and the food was frequently replenished. The eating area was kept clean. Very well equipped and clean gym open 24/7 which we used. Staff were all very friendly and immediately provided extra pillows when requested.

We really loved this hotel. They had all the extras and it was super helpful. They let you borrow bearspray. They have a great pool for kids. They have an area outside the hotel you can grill and they supply the utensils. They also have bikes you can rent and it seems that they would supply coolers that people left behind, which is helpful if you’re flying in and want to go out to the mountains.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. If we came back, we would stay here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights in a one bedroom king suite. The hotel is new so it “appears” clean. The swimming pool and hot tub were outside and great! We also used the laundry facilities and they were fine. Those were the only positives and why it’s getting 2 stars instead of 1. The room was quite small. Very tight for 2 adults and 2 kids. Our room was facing the highway and the traffic was quite loud all night. The service was non existent. We went to the desk several times and it just had a “be right back sign.” When we did see people, they were either clueless or made us uncomfortable with not using masks correctly (person serving breakfast). The worst part was the fact after being in our room for several hours, we found the previous guest’s mask on the door handle. So many things wrong with this! It made us not comfortable with the cleaning job that was supposed to have been done even with high-touch services such as door handles, faucets. We ended up spending some time cleaning. There was no one at the front desk to complain to at the time but we have notified the hotel as elite Marriott members. I wanted to like this hotel due to the newness and location but absolutely cannot recommend it.

We stayed her for Glacier National park visit. The suites are well appointed including a full kitchen. Rooms are very nice/modern. The front desk was very helpful, they let us borrow their bear spray for our trip to the park. Would highly recommend this hotel for those who are staying in Whitefish/Kalispell area. That said if you are visiting GNP and are able to get a room in the park you will save a lot of time in commuting (although the accommodations inside the park will not be as nice as this one)
