We stayed two nights at the GWI during our visit to Glacier National Park. The co-owners, Chris and Rhonda, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Chris was born and raised in the Whitefish area, and he is a fantastic source of information for anything related to the Park or the area as a whole. We would never have...

This was definitely the highlight of our trip. My husband and I felt so welcomed the second we walked through the door and Chris greeted us. We were shown to our gorgeous room and offered dinner recommendations. Chris even called and reserved a table for us. The breakfast and conversations each morning with Rhonda and Chris were very pleasant. Actually...

We have recently returned from a trip to North America and during our travels we were lucky enough to stay here for two nights. We had researched options before we left the UK and had booked our accommodation here months ago. Our hosts Chris and Ronda were amazing - so welcoming, attentive and committed to ensuring that we enjoyed all...

My husband and I spent four nights at the Garden Wall Inn -- and absolutely loved it. Chris and Rhonda -- the owners -- are so sweet, kind and gracious. They truly make everyone feel so welcome. Chris does such a wonderful job of calling each and every guest by name and engaging all of us in wonderful conversation. Also...

Be pleasantly surprised by wonderful hospitality that feels more like a 6-Star hotel than a B&B. Chris runs the inn with his business partner Rhonda and it is clear they have put in a lot of thought into making the guests’ stay special. The rooms are pretty but it is the small touches that make you feel pampered and special....

We are a couple in our 60s who took the train from the Midwest to Whitefish, the starting point of our Montana vacation. We could not have been more welcome. The Garden Wall is within easy walking distance of the train station, and Chris was exceptionally welcoming. We stay in a lot of B&Bs, and this one really stands out....

This inn is a real gem! My wife and I recently spent three nights here as a part of a national park trip. We used this as our stating point for Glacier Park. It is forty minutes +/- from the entrance, but it is an easy drive and what you get by doing this is access to Whitefish, and a...

My fiancée and I spent three wonderful nights here. We unfortunately were not able to meet Rhonda, but Chris was an outstanding host. The breakfasts he served were delicious and unique, and Chris was an excellent source of knowledge and recommendations for local activities and dining options. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and extremely clean, with antique...

The Garden Wall Inn is centrally located just a few blocks away from the city center. When you arrive you're greeted by Chris the Inn Keeper who treats every customer as if he is their personal butler. The Inn is a meticulously restored two story house, built in the 1920s. The rooms are small but cozy and pleasing to the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The award-winning Garden Wall Inn has been catering to discerning travelers since 1987. The impeccably restored 1920’s inn offers five luxurious guestrooms, each furnished with period antiques. Scrumptious three-course breakfasts are prepared by chef/owners Rhonda Fitzgerald and Chris Schustrom. The Inn is a convenient one-block walk from downtown Whitefish’s excellent restaurants, shops and nightspots. Only 25 minutes from Glacier National Park, the Inn is the perfect base for exploring the Park. The Inn is built in the "Colonial Revival" style with a gambrel roof and clapboard siding. The interior is accented by original solid maple flooring, arts-and-crafts fir moldings, and beveled-glass french doors. The guestrooms’ private baths boast huge claw-foot tubs, pedestal sinks, and black-and-white art-deco tile. Oriental carpets and fine antique furniture complement the lovely rooms. ... more   less
