We stayed at one of the rooms at Elbow Sunset Suites & RV Park. The room was quite simple but had all we needed. The kitchenette had a small fridge, a single sink, a hotplate, and a coffeemaker. The cloths supplied were brand new; not even a run through the wash to take the copious amount of red dye out of them. The room itself was very clean (other than a couple of candy wrappers under the bed). I'm not sure what's up with the plumbing; I'd guess no vent for the toilet but every time it was flushed, the kitchen sink and shower gurgled. I ran water down each to make sure the traps were full after most flushes. I think we'd stay here again. Check-in and -out were easy over text. We never even saw a staff member while we were there.
The day I phoned regarding this place the manager was out fishing and said he would get back to me which he didn’t so I made contact again and was told there was accommodations for ourselves in Lodge and in campground for our friends. We never received any confirmation . I had some questions about accommodations so I sent an email asking for a call ( we wanted to confirm the hookups our friends would have and because of some mobility issues if would be possible to get ground floor to avoid stair climbing). When we arrived there is no one to do check in. Our friends were given a spot without full services so had to request a different spot and we had a top floor suite and when we asked if possible to get ground floor the reply was” if I had a ground floor I would have given you one and the exercise will do you good. The evening before we left our friends had to track him down to ask about paying and they were met with Mark’s snotty attitude. I received a message after we got home that he must have written our card number down incorrectly, if the place operated like other businesses most of this “ bad taste” could have been avoided.…
We loved our stay at Sunset Suites. Much to our surprise it was like a mini apartment with all the necessities. The room was absolutely clean, comfortable bed and having a kitchen was nice as there isn't an abundance of places to eat at Elbow in the winter. The price of the room is affordable which makes us want to go back again as soon as possible. Every room has a bbq as well as there is a big fire pit in back for everyone can use.
A friend from Ontario and myself stayed for one night. After a total bust fishing the first day we came back to Elbow and it was after dark. The streets kind of roll up in small towns at night so we went to the Bar. They recommended sunset suites as an option for accomodations and we were pleasantly surprised for a very small town how nice the room was. Modern, nice firm mattress in both rooms, quiet and fridge, stove, bedding, huge shower that was designed for even a disabled person. Definately stay here again in future. Thanks! By the way the bar served up a phenomenal steak supper and and drink for $15. Awesome when you've had a long tiring day on the water! The second day fishing we caught some real trophy sized fish and it made it all worth it.
We were up golfing with two friends. Our friends had a travel trailer and we needed a hotel room. We found the Elbow Sunset Suites and RV park on the internet and took a chance as we had no knowledge of the establishment, and could not find reviews. Our friends had a very basic site near the laundry, washrooms, and laundry. They were happy with the services. Site had a few trees, but not a ton of shade, however it met their needs for the night and was quiet. Other sites had trees, but appeared to possibly be seasonal sites. We had a studio suite and were very satisfied with the unit. It was in a newer modular building. There were two of these buildings with about 8-10 units in total. There was also a main building that appeared a bit older, with another group of Suites. Our unit had a comfortable queen bed, nice sized tv, small fridge and hot plate, along with a bathroom with a shower only (no tub). Our unit worked well for us! The unit was clean, had a good air conditioner (although a bit noisy), small seating area outside to watch the sunset, and propane BBQ's. The units are exposed to the sun, thus we appreciated the a/c! The evening cooled down for us and a great cross breeze came thru the windows evening/overnight. Unit had basics (coffee for the morning, kitchen utensils and plates, hair dryer, etc). The beaches, golf course, and Main Street are all within a few minutes of driving. Our only concern was due to the location (west edge of Elbow), we were very close to some farmers fields and they started harvesting. Noise and dust, but the farmer did not work late into the evening which was great! Overall it suited what we needed and appreciated the communication of the owners. Basic accomdation, but newer, clean, and convenient! When we return, we would certainly stay here again!…
