Al Baglio is a true gem. Situated close to the sea and the best restaurants in the piazza. It is clean, friendly and reasonably priced.
It is family run and the staff are very helpful, friendly and accommdating to all requests.
They arranged transport at reasonable prices to Palermo Centrale station and provided a magnificent breakfast each day. They even provided a laundry service free of charge. The rooms are large and comfotable as are the bathrooms. The aircon is quiet and efficient.
We could not be happier.

This place is lovely. The breakfast was excellent and they were very helpful because me and my partner are gluten free. The view was amazing from our room. The towels they provided for the beach was spot on. I cannot fault this place and location was perfect. Cant wait to go next year. The people who run the place were lovely. If anyone has left a bad review then ignore it!❤️🇮🇹

My partner and I have recently returned from a five night stay at this B&B. The quickest way to get to Mondello from Palermo’s airport is by taxi (35 euros, approx 30 minutes). The cheaper and longer option Is by coach to Palermo (6 euros, approx 50 minutes) and the bus back to Mondello (1.20 euros, approx 25 minutes). This bed and breakfast is ideally located just a few steps from the beach and restaurants which run along the sea front. We booked a stay for bed and breakfast but we allocated a former apartment minus kitchen facilities away from the main office. Which was only a 5 minute walk away.
When we checked in we had to pay the balance in cash in advance of our stay. According to guides on Sicily this practice is not unusual. The staff were friendly and helpful and most spoke English (not widely spoken on the island). The reception opens early but closes at 9pm. The breakfast was a simple continental affair and cereal.
The rooms offered a large living area for our stay, including a fully equipped bathroom, bedroom and lounge. Air conditioning in both rooms but surprisingly no fridge! All the rooms were clean with modern decoration. The bedroom had a TV, safe, large wardrobe, suitcase stand and a desk and chair. It also had a small balcony off it with a good view of the rooftops and distant mountains. The lighting was energy efficient and bright throughout. The lounge was simply decorated with a table, plenty of seating and a TV. The bathroom was colourfully tiled as you’ll see in the pictures with a shower, sink with mirror/cupboard space, toilet and a bidet.
When they came to clean our room the towels and bed sheets appear to have not been changed. Coat hangers are a “bring your own” issue. The only other issue was with the lounge room having one electric wire sticking out of the wall and the pipe work for a sink. All these had been blocked off and sealed but were still a bit unsightly.
The area is not the quietist due to shops, restaurants and night markets being open later than in the UK. There was a distinct vibe and friendly atmosphere across the sea front at night.
The best parts were the modern decoration and excellent location.
The worst parts were a bit of noise early and late in the day and the exposed pipes.

We arrived at the quaint seaside resort of Mondello hot, tired and hungry. We were directed to Al Baglio by one of the locals - and what an amazing experience! We arrived early (9am) and were told we could leave our backpacks at reception (until the room was ready - at 11am). We were then offered breakfast (delicious yoghurts, croissants and cappuchinos), given sun umbrellas and told to enjoy our day. We spent the morning on the beach and then arrived back to get 'settled in'. The rooms are newly renovated, sparkling clean and ours had a huge bathroom. We had a relaxed, peaceful experience with a fabulous night's rest! In the morning we had another delicious breakfast. We were looked after, advice and care was readily available (in English - which is not easy to find in Sicily!). The staff went above and beyond to help us in every way possible. I would definitely recommend this B&B! It was a wonderful experience!

We just left there this morning and felt like we said goodbye to family. This was not on our list but a disasterous booking in the city left us running for safety and our great taxi driver drove us to Al Baglio( and he wouldn't leave until we were settled). The managers had a lovely room ready with a terrace - view to the ocean. It's super quiet when the doors are shut. Black out curtains and air conditioning. The social time at the wonderful breakfast was lovely and the food was delicious and plentiful. The coffees espressos were non stop with warm pastry and meats, cheese, fresh juices etc. The courtyard had more sitting spaces for morning coffees or evening wine. The gates are locked at night with room key access for additional security. However- we felt safe and stress free the entire time- but it's nice to keep things tightened up. Just steps from the front gate are non stop restaurants with the freshest fish and pastas. There is a burger place for those who need it. And gellato everywhere. We ate at Sariddu three times because it was that good and the staff was that fun and attentive.
This is a nice place for a fun weekend or week vacation where you need to get away and know you'll be taken care of nicely. My only wish was that the bed was softer but guests from other hotels said it was all the same. I'd go back and stay here in a heartbeat. I highly recommend Al Baglio!!

My boyfriend and I traveled here in May 2016, very easy to find and only steps away from the beautiful Mondello beach. The airport had lost our luggage and we are Canadians that only speak english therefore had a very difficult time communicating with anyone there but as soon as we arrived to Al Baglio, the woman waiting for us there was such a sweet heart! she offered to call the airport multiple times daily to check on our luggage situation for us and thanks to her, our luggage was found! She even knew we had an early flight on our last day there, so before the end of her shift (we were away to dinner) she knew we'd miss breakfast and set up a little breakfast package waiting for us in our room! Muffins, yogurt, croissant, everything we'd need early in the morning! The service there was absolutely incredible, she treated us with such respect and we felt very cherished and treated as if we were in a 5 Star resort. many little restaurants in the area, down town is just a buss ride away, rooms are INCREDIBLY clean, grounds are adorable and well kept. The hotel has connections with cabs so they can set you up to go anywhere you need to go. If all hotels now a days understood hospitality the way these people do, the world of hotels would be a better place. Outstanding, wouldn't go anywhere else.

For your stay in Mondello, I highly recommend Al Baglio. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, right from the start. From the lady who checked us in, and took us down to our apartment in the square nearby, to the guy serving us cappuccinos at breakfast, the lady who cleaned our apartment, plus the very nice owner, everyone left a positive impression.

Being put in the apartment, away from the main building certainly gave us much more space than we expected, and sitting on the little balcony people watching in the evenings was a nice experience. Only small negative of this arrangement was that we were not in range of the free wifi signal, but we could walk up to the main building 2 minutes away at any time if we wanted to connect, so it was not really a major issue for us.

The furnishings in the apartment are definitely not ultra modern, but everything we needed was there, and it was kept very clean. The air conditioning in the bedroom was excellent.

Breakfast very nice and served in a nice breakfast room, next to reception. Good selection of croissants, cakes, cheese, ham, salami, fruit, juices, etc. Coffee made to order. Some outside tables to enjoy the nice weather.

Overall, very happy to have stayed here, they run a nice and welcoming B&B, and I would be happy to return one day. I hope my review helped you.

We ended up returning to Mondello out of desperation on our last night in Sicily, as we needed a place to stay near the airport for a morning flight and remembered this cute town - basically there is nothing decent anywhere near the airport (quite sleazy/seedy towns) so we came back here in hopes of finding somewhere to stay...and I kept seeing signs for Il Baglio on the road to Mondello... we found it behind the main square and got the last room on a Friday night. I couldn't believe it when they said it was only 70 euros too - a huge blue-tiled room, beautifully painted, tasteful art on walls, free water bottle, huge bathroom, cute balcony and shutters and a nice air conditioner which was still needed in October! It felt like a very posh place! One minute from the beach, and not too difficult to find street parking. Great free wifi connection too.The staff were super nice and helpful even though we only stayed the one evening and in the morning we were amazed at the breakfast - the best we'd seen all week in Sicily! They had everything from meats and cheese to chocolate croissants!! We already decided we will stay here when we return to Palermo, its close enough to the city and airport, without the stress or noise! Fabulous seafood restaurants too! Can't wait to return!

I think parking would be a challenge - However, the folks at the property are really helpful (they arranged for our ride from the airport and, then, to Palermo) they could probably reserve parking if such is available. Enjoy Mondello!
