Close to Palermo, we visited this busy beach on a hot and sunny September Saturday and spent a couple of hours in the sunshine and warm surf. The beach is pretty big with a mix of public and private spots but we didn’t have a problem finding a Sandy socially distanced spot. There are lots of vendors prowling around to sell refreshments and beach blankets and people of all ages, shapes and sizes enjoying the salty sea.

Parking can be tricky but we found a space in a private lot that was only €3. We arrived around 12:30 and headed to one of the many beach front restaurants prior to staking out our spot. Even in mid September the sun and water were warm. We spent a couple of hours.

Just ok for beach walking, but superb for bobbing in the water. The western side of the crescent beach where we were had a very gradual Sandy bottom perfect to enjoy the warm water.

We visited this place to go for a swim in a lovely sunny day in early October. We tried five beaches in total. Beach Nr 1 had no umbrellas for hire and the sand was dirty and full of cigarette butts. Beach Nr 2 looked much nicer had lots of umbrellas and the sea was clean. However the staff were very rude and told us they were (inexplicably) fully booked and we should come back tomorrow. Beach Nr 3 next door only for subscribers. beach Nr 4 had building works ongoing. beach Nr 5 seemed abandoned by staff so went for a swim there which was ok with clean sand and water. Surely there must be a better way? Not a nice experience overall, in comparison the beach in Cefalu was much much better

•Very charming beach, clear and warm water.
•You can rent a beach deckchair with umbrella for 10€ but you have to be there very early!
Sunbathing on the beach sand also worths it unless you don't wanna stay close to local people
•There aren't many food places.
Lots of ice cream stores.
I advise you to taste the Italian Brioche, ice cream in a bun,(2,50€) just delicious!

They do not give you the umbrella and sunbeds, because it is also reserved, but you can see a lot of unused umbrellas at the beach and even the entrance they put them into your face but they can not give it to you.... It is quite disturbing and unlogical... We came from Hungary to see this beach and we only wanted to have a rest.

We visited Mondello beach for a day. All along the beach the sun beds + shades are €20 per twin sunbeds. There are a few beach bars, cafes, etc, that serve cold drinks, ice creams etc, very close to the beach, or a short distance away, are some very nice restaurants 👍 The beach has lovely soft sand, although in one particulate area, it tends to have quite a bit of sea weed type matter floating in it. There are pedals, wake boards, etc for hire too. All in all, we had a pleasant day here.

Room Tip: It pays to arrive early if the weather is hot, as the sunbeds are quickly taken!

Visited on a sunny spring Sunday. Perhaps the time of year but there was plenty of space to use the beach with your own gear (seat, towel etc) and it looked like not every section of the beach was open yet with some of the sunlounger areas still being set up for the season. It is lovely however it is lacking in facilities. The bathrooms are pay €0.50 which would be fine if they were clean and toilet seats provided however they are not and for females in particular this is most uncomfortable. There is also not enough of them. The busses there and back are reasonable @ €1.50 a ticket but wow they get busy!

Beautiful sandy beach with clear and warm water. Quiet place to relax nearby Palermo. Most of the beach is private so best if you arrive early so you can book your space. We traveled by bus from Palermo, it can get crowded so be aware of that.
Otherwise perfect place to relax 🏝🏖😎

The best beach we ever visited and so much fun for the kids. Warm water almost on all days (and I mean above 27 C most likely, at the end of July/beg of August), no wind. We prebooked online at the advice of the helpful employee (during the first day) so no trouble getting in/out. It is very expensive though (56 EUR/day for 4 persons).

I rarely write reviews, but I had to here. We have not seen such horror anywhere, although we have traveled to many countries and visited many beaches.

All along the sandy beach there are fences, similar to fences for cattle. There are two options for accessing the beach to lie down and swim. The first option is to pay about 30 euros to go into the fence, they give you a sunbed and an umbrella. The second option is people, like dogs, laying in the area from the fence to the water on a plot of about two meters, and traders still walk past them.

It is not so easy to pay and get into the fence. Corruption!! I came, stood in line at the box office, they told me there were no tickets and I had to wait until someone left. Although at the same time everyone sees that there are plenty of free sunbeds in the fence. Well, I think okay, maybe someone booked. I stood in line for about half an hour in the heat, the Italians come up behind me, say something to the cashier in Italian and she sells tickets to them. To my objections that I was standing in line, she replies that no, she doesn’t know anything, although I didn’t leave a single meter and asked her several times if the tickets didn’t appear. It happened on 03 August 2023 15:15 gmt+2. Two days later, the same situation happened to my wife, but we raised a scandal and then they sold tickets for half a day, but at a price like for a whole day.

The staff comes, swears and deliberately folds umbrellas like because of the wind so that they leave faster. Although there was no wind.

The water on the beach is excellent, but because of the fences, people have no place to relax. Just a crowd, all on top of each other.

Long beach with lots of space even on a busy day. The bus runs from Palermo to the beach and is €1.20 each way but was very busy with everyone standing and squashed in. Coming back I would recommend going to the far end of the beach, further away from Palermo as the bus was so full it didn't stop at the last few stops before leaving Mondello
