To split up the driving distances between Denver and California, we stayed at the Big Chief Motel in Battle Mountain. It appears to be a favorite stopping place for traveling workers, as there were many small commercial pickups in the parking lot. The room was clean and comfortable. This is an older motel, but it is good for a place...

This is a nice property that has had some nice renovations to the rooms. My room was very clean, and had a comfortable king size bed. The room also had a mini fridge, microwave, flatscreen tv, and a coffee maker. Free wifi with a good and solid connection. The bathroom was very clean with new fixtures, flooring, and tub. Plenty...

This is the second time we have stayed at Big Chief. First because they are the best price and the breakfast and staff are great. Second, is because the first time we stayed there I inadvertently left my credit card case in the bedding. I didn't know until I was an hour away but they bent over backwards to keep...

From the welcome of the evening desk clerk, to the incredibly comfortable beds, and actually nutritious continental breakfast, this hotel is a win. Was very quiet until the morning shift warmed up their trucks just before sunrise. Felt secure, clean, all good.

Stayed with the Big Chief Motel for 4 nites in August, 2016 and it was a good choice! The room is large and has refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer 42" inch flat screen, satellite service, and very large, comfortable KING-Size bed. Free breakfast with cold cereal, hard-boiled eggs, bagels, juice, yogurt, toast, coffee, etc. Pool was nice and refreshing and deep....

This hotel was one of the cheapest in the Elko/Battle Mountain/Winnemucca range, it was right on our route to California, and I loved the name, so we thought we would give it a try. I'm very glad we did. It was a spacious and extremely clean room with a microwave and mini-fridge. The beds were comfy and we didn't hear...

We stayed here for one night. It suits its purpose. Reasonably comfortable room, though the flooring could be a bit cleaner. Pool was a bit grimy too. The staff were very polite and friendly. Ideal for an overnight stay between Nevada and California.

Arrived on a Monday afternoon for one night. Staff was very friendly and had my reservation ready to go. Non-smoking room was large, clean and comfortable...more than met my requirements. Very good value for the price, will stay again!

The bed and pillows were great. The furnishings were up to date. My family enjoyed the pool. Everything else was bad--even though this is a non-smoking place, our room still had a smoky odor. The floor and the walls were not level which made it impossible to lock the bathroom door due to the gap from the door frame. The...

This motel was not very impressive at all. I think the only think in the room that is newer than the 70's is the tv. The place is pretty run down and is in need of a serious remodeling job. It is always a little concerning when you find dead spiders in your bed...
