One thing that is very important to us (and especially my wife) is that the place is clean, and it was. Our room was spacious, even with two queen beds it was not cramped. El Portal Motel is owned and operated by a friendly and very helpful couple. We like to support locally owned businesses. It had wi-fi, a microwave,...

Beatty is a small town. Has a fun museum. Local Mexican restaurant had good food. We used the motel as a place to drop after hiking. So the lack of amenities was just what was needed. wifi was provided but was very slow.

This a charming place, albeit not in the sense of a romantic hideaway or so. The interior was a bit outdated, the airco was definitely an oldie but at the price we paid, it was one of those places that will stick in our memory! It has its own charm and fits perfectly in the entire Beatty atmosphere. There are...

Spent wonderful couple days in the Death Valley area. The facilities here were excellent,,, clean, quiet, friendly staff, and competitive rate. Nearby restaurants were fine -- Mel's Diner for breakfast, Denny's for dinner. Will definitely visit and stay again !

Great host, very helpful. Big rooms, tacky though. Good heating system. Nice landscape around. Nice dinner for breakfast closeby. Payable at arrival. Free wife. No restaurant, nor bar or any common areas.

We had a large corner room close to the highway, but since this is a very small town there was no highway noise at night. It was beginning to drop into the 30s (we are from Florida) but the two heaters in our room kept us warm. We had a microwave and small refrigerator, a nice plus since there was...

This is a clean, budget-friendly hotel. It is dated, but that is to be expected at this price, which is exactly the price I was looking for. We paid $61 a night. The air conditioner is a wall unit, and I found it to be quite loud (I normally sleep with earplugs), so I turned it off at night and...

Thanks to Trip Advisor I was able to stay at the best hotel in town. In fact the best hotel we stayed in on our 2 week holiday in the U.S. It just didn't have anything wrong with it. It was clean, tidy, Wifi was great, beds were comfortable. It was quiet but was in walking distance of the eateries...

If you want a no frills, comfortable, clean motel room whilst visiting the Death Valley region, this will tick all the boxes. Friendly welcome at reception, large clean room with a fridge. Free Wifi worked well. Small pool, ice cold water, perfect for the outdoor temperatures! Really couldn't find fault with this place. Would certainly stay here again if passing...
