I have driven past this Hotel for years on my way south and finally decided try it out. I arrived with no reservations on a Sunday night about 5pm. The check in clerk was friendly and knowledgeable about the local attractions. I asked for a non smoking room and was given the Gary Cooper room on the 6th floor. Clean,... More

We chose to stay in the historic Hotel Nevada instead of a chain hotel...we were not disappointed. The room was clean, the bathroom was small, a bit dated, but also clean. Those interested in history, will enjoy the large collection of period photos found throughout the hotel, including our room. The staff was very friendly & helpful. We only had... More

I was excited to stay over here. I love historic hotels - the creaks and groans. Maybe haunted.? The public areas they have absolutely preserved this feel. But then you go to your room - ugh. Room was very big and bathroom was very tiny. Room was old and outdated - not cool old historic outdated but 70"s ech outdated.... More

This casino only has the only Black Jack table in Ely. They have a couple of tables but they only had one open. They have a variety of slot machines. they also have a full bar with Poker games. We did not stay at the hotel this trip.

This Historic building, reeks with the history of the mining in that area. We enjoyed local brews and the most excellent pizza and calzones! The only downside I experienced was walking through the smoke filled Casino to get to the restaurant. We only ate there, we did not stay n the hotel.

If it's historic, you know it might be worth your time. Did not stay overnight but did stop in for food & drink while doing Great Basin N.P. Selection is worth it, good customer service, cheap drinks. Decor is vintage...to be expected. If it were up to me I would stay overnight next time in the area for even more... More

This hotel has a sort of faded glory. I mean that in the nicest possible way. The room was nice and looked out on to the main street. Really like the casino bar (which I was given a free drinks token to at check in) I arrived 2 hours before official check in time. I asked the girl at check... More

We spent the night here while touring Ely and nearby Great Basin NP and figured it would be quite a drab place. Boy were we wrong! There was so much history all over the walls of this place. The room was small, but took us back in time to how all hotels used to be. We had dinner at the... More

If you're going to stay in Ely, the Hotel Nevada is an excellent option. It's an amazing historical hotel. Yes, it's a bit quirky in some respects, but you're staying in history - so enjoy it. The Hotel's restaurant is also excellent. Why stay in some chain branded hotel where every room is the same, every time you stay anywhere... More
