After hearing of the Overland's re-opening 6 of us decided to go for the wife's birthday. It was a different experience, having more or less a Basque dinner in a more or less Chinese restaurant. There were 6 "Basque Style Dinners" on the menu, Maybe a dozen items "American Style" and the rest of the menu Chinese meals. My daughter... More

Running late for Reno, really wanted a Basque dinner and saw the sigh on the side of the Overland Hotel so went in. First floor is half restaurant and half bar, Soup was great, steak and fries okay, but no where near the experiences I've had in Reno at Louis' Basque Corner. Next time I'll press on.

This is a hotel without many luxuries. It is like stepping back into time. A small out dated hotel that is priced to what you get. You are not spending a lot, but you don't get a lot. The rooms are all upstairs above the loud lounge. it was worth the experience, but once was more than enough

Room cost 35 dollars and is above bar. Bar is very loud and smoke pours upstairs. Room clean and small. Shared bathrooms in hall. Unless you smoke 4 packs a day this is not for you. Left without ever using room.

If a Holiday Inn Express is your idea of roughing it, the Overland isn't for you. But if you want to experience early twentieth century accommodations, this is the place. It opened in 1908 so was ready and waiting when the Lincoln Highway passed by its front door a few years later. I've stayed there twice and love it but... More

Make no mistake. This is not a luxury hotel by any means. But, if you are open to an experience and just need a good nights sleep this is the place. Enjoyed our stay and the dinner as well.

You have to be in the mood for a historic hotel to stay in this place, and willing to put up with the lack of usual motel amenities. The noise level was a real drawback. People doing gardening work outside carried on loud conversations outside, and I finally managed to fall asleep around midnight despite a drunk woman singing along... More

My wife and I went for two nights last Labor Day weekend. We found out about this place from I believe KOLO TV in Reno, NV about great local getaways. We enjoyed our room which was clean and decorated in period furniture. The owners were both very very nice and the restaurant had the best lamb and I had the... More
