This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa and Casino offers a mixed bag for guests, with some praising the resort's beauty and spacious bathrooms, while others highlight shortcomings in amenities, such as inconsistent hot water and pool maintenance. While the location is appreciated by those looking to stay off the strip, the value is questioned due to perceived high costs and additional fees. The atmosphere and room quality receive mixed reviews, with outdated elements detracting from the experience for some. Service quality also varies, with reports of both friendly and lackluster staff encounters.

I was there for a small conference, so I only had a little choice of where to stay. The hotel is not all that large (this is a good thing), but it has a good selection of restaurants and bars. Even the Starbucks had no lines and was a God-send for early morning coffee. The catering food served at the conference was surprisingly good.

Check-in and out were painless, and no lines. The pool area looked nice from the inside, but at ~100 degrees, going outside was not an option. The WiFi was free and fast.

I don't particularly like the Southwestern/Mexican architectural style of the hotel, but that's just a minor detail.

The room had a comfortable bed; the A/C was quiet and effective. But the best thing about the room was the thoughtfulness of the design. Almost as good as the typical Japanese hotel room. Light switches were located where you expected them and had a little light in them so you could find them. There were lots of accessible power sockets and a separate make-up table and mirror. The bathroom had both a deep bath and shower, and it was possible to adjust the shower temp from outside the shower and not only from inside while wet and cold. And the actual toilet was in a separate room with a door. Everything worked and even the alarm clock showed the right time and did not blink 12:00. The only negative is that there was no coffee maker.

My family of 4 returned home this evening after a lovely time at the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa. The resort was beautiful and we had exceptional customer service the entire six day stay. Well... until check out! We are Costco Executive Members and we had questions concerning our bill and resort credits. As frequent travelers we are accustomed to daily resort credits, unfortunately we may have gotten the resort credits confused for this location. During check out this morning the receptionist wasn't thrilled that we had concerns regarding our billing. When I stated my husband and I both understood that we would receive a daily credit when we checked in- Her response, "were you even there." Awkward! I then stated that I thought the daily credit could be used at the spa, for food, etc. Her response, "we don't give free spa treatments here." I was absolutely mortified not only at her responses to my questions but also her tone with me. It felt as if she were implying we had ulterior motives for questioning our bill. My children were watching and I could tell they were uncomfortable so I said, "please do not make this dramatic, if I have more questions I will simply call when we return home." Once we arrived on our flight headed home, my 15 year old twins told us how embarrassed they were and how they did not like how the receptionist spoke to me. We had an at length discussion about my treatment during check-out and I let them know I would be writing a review regarding our horrifying encounter.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us this feedback. First and foremost I want to apologize for how you were spoken to by our front desk agent upon check out and we will be reaching out to them regarding this issue. Miscommunications are bound to happen, whenever they do it is best to clarify for all parties involved. With a growing number of packages offered at Green Valley Ranch, its quite possible for information to get crossed and corrections need to be made, but they need to be made properly and professionally. Please know that this experience is the exception not the rule here at Green Valley Ranch. We are ecstatic to hear the rest of your stay was lovely, I'm sorry that it had to end off on such a sour note. We hope that you'll find it in your heart to give us another chance at Green Valley Ranch, and next time we will make sure the final chapter leaves you feeling happy rather than horrified.

Outstanding for the price range. Room service is delish (quite overpriced, but that’s to be expected). Rooms are very comfy. The hotel is quite separate from the casino, including the entrances— you can avoid it entirely if you want. One thing to watch is the price can spike suddenly on days you wouldn’t expect because they host a lot of conferences.

My wife and I visited GVR back in March of 2024 and we really enjoyed the relaxed casino atmosphere and eating at the Lucky Penny. We went back the next day and all we did was win on video poker. We each received three free nights and $75 free play, so we decided to plan a family vacation to Nevada and stay at GVR with our offer. When we arrived, I tried the coveted $20 trick for both rooms, and the hotel clerk just ignored that I even attempted it. I'm guessing he was new and had no idea why I was including $40 cash with I.D. Then I figured maybe there were no upgrades available, but thought he would disclose that. At least I got the $40 back. When we got up to our room, there were multiple suites across the hall that had nobody in them our entire stay. The rooms were comped, so it didn't bother me too much. The rooms, and most of the hotel is in DIRE need of renovations. The elevators barely worked and sometimes didn't work at all. The carpet in the room was old and needed replacing. The bathroom was dirty, and the sink faucet was about to fall apart. The mattresses needed replacing five years ago. Very basic and boring room. The food court is just OK. Prices could be a little lower, but there is variety. We only ate at the Lucky Penny, which has been pretty solid if you order breakfast or burgers. The arcade is decent, but it would be nice if you could get a few more credits for the price. These arcades are getting too greedy to the point where kids can only play 5 to 10 games off $25, and the decent prizes are unattainable. The pool is decent, but it was littered with garbage with multiple pool staff not really cleaning it up. The pool bar waitress had a pretty skimpy bikini on, which is fine for an adult only pool, but there were a lot of kids there and I thought it was inappropriate. The spa may be very nice, but the prices are double that of spas around here, and it's just a turn off. We did enjoy Bingo and the Bingo staff. This property is marketed as a high-end Stations resort, but I just don't see it. The stay was very average at best. If people are paying $150-$250-$300 per night in the standard rooms, I feel bad for them.

My wife and I have been staying at GVR for over 10 plus years. We usually go twice per year. The casino and hotel have always been exceptional. This time not so much. We were placed in a room directly behind the check in desk as opposed to being placed in a room I. One of the towers. Looking out our window instead of seeing the pool or mountains we saw a car. The sink drain stop was not working making shaving a little difficult. The stopper was actually laying on the countertop. We attempted to take a bath, but could not as the cold water did not work. Only Hot water from both faucets came out. We spoke with the front desk about it and they said they will call maintenance. They did but it took a while and by the time they came we were in bed. We were supplied with 1 small bar of soap for 2 people for a few days. Unacceptable. We also only had 1 bottle of shampoo and conditioner. Also unacceptable. Asked housekeeping to provide more but it never showed up. The toilet was never cleaned while we were in the room. I know some of these issues sound trivial but this is not the quality we have come to expect. I feel that because the room was comped, we were treated poorly. I wonder if the hotel is trying to save some money by not providing the same services they have in the past. I have read other reviews and they all are similar in nature. The quality of the hotel has declined. Compared to Red Rock and Durango, this hotel is significantly poorer in quality.

Where do I begin, so my Husband booked a quick trip for our sons birthday, we were booked to stay two days, we left early due to the fact of our room not having hot water, I called the front desk they told me they would send someone never did, house keeping seen that we left our room and when we came back it was not clean at all. I had to flag down a manager in the hallway to tell them clean our room. When I I called about the hot water issue it was never reported. Staying here was a waste of our time and money. I had booked a room for April of this year, I cancelled my reservation I will take my money somewhere else, the manager onsite when we checked out removed the resort fee of $50, they did not make up for the fact that my husband and daughter could not shower because the water was not hot long enough. I do not recommend staying here Let’s be clear I’m only giving one circle/star because I have to. They do not deserve that

We have stayed at this property several times in the last year. However, this stay has changed my mind on staying here again. We requested an upgraded room (paid for it) and were given a room on the seventh floor facing the pool. We really paid for the view because the room was a basic two queen room. Upon entering our room, we found blood on the walls in two locations that was substantial. I do not know how house cleaning missed this as it was so large. With the dark carpeted floor, we were unable to tell if there was blood also there, but the floor was also very dirty with hair and didn't appear to be vacuumed. We called and asked someone to come inspect it and we asked for the head of housekeeping. She came and immediately said we needed to move. This was a health hazard. So we waited and were moved to a room on the 3rd floor and given a $50 F&B credit. Upon entering in this room we noted where it was lacking in several areas. The light fixtures in the bathroom were shredded, the makeup light did not work and was falling off the wall, the cabinet in room was very dirty, the bed skirt was very worn, the shower handle did not work and had to be repaired, and the shower stall had a sewer smell. We again asked to be moved and were told there was no where else to go and instead waived our resort fee. I was sadly grossed out and actually concerned about the cleanliness of the hotel if staff was able to overlook this large blood stain on the walls.

Overall, I did like the bingo hall. The slots were very tight compared to the strip. The food choices are good. However, the rooms are way overdue for updates. Also, I don't see the value in their Station Points when comparing to MGM rewards.

Let me first start by saying that for a property that is over 20 years old, the grounds of Green Valley Ranch are pretty well maintained although there is definitely room for improvement in their service standard.

As locals, we are aware that there are many properties that we could choose to do a staycation at, on and off the strip. We decided to try Green Valley Ranch since we have frequented the District for their dining and shops and have eaten at a few of the restaurants on the property itself. We were going to celebrate an occasion.

What ruined this stay? The most important interaction (that I feel is)...the hotel check-in.

We arrived well after check-in time and checked in with an agent by the name of Miles. As mentioned, we are locals and are also aware of something called the $20 sandwich in which case you hand over to the front desk agent and politely ask/mention a possible upgrade of sorts. Sometimes it may work, sometimes not, but when it is not available, the agent normally returns the monies handed over. This was not the case. We had told Miles that we were there to celebrate an occasion but I guess that didn't mean much since we got a view of the parking lot and HE KEPT THE MONEY!! Mind you, this was a midweek stay so the hotel was not sold out by any means. The whole interaction was lackluster, even before seeing the room. Miles didn't tell us where the elevators were so we had to ask. He also didn't explain how the numbers worked as far as which floor to press in regards to your room number so there was some confusion there as well.

After reading some of the other reviews, however, I can see that this property seems to be very stingy when it comes to any sort of soft comp. GVR, just so you know, a little goes a long way and if you're trying to make it back to Forbes standard, perhaps you should revisit retraining some of your staff and procedures.

The room was ok. Rather dated and the windows were filthy. Air conditioning couldn't get the room cool enough and the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor.

The saving grace for this stay was spectacular service of your pool staff. All smiles and very attentive. If I were ever to recommend anything at this property, it would be the pool and that's about it.

The other thing that was a head scratcher was the fact that they advertise no resort fee for locals.... we are locals but booked under a different room rate so we had to pay the resort fee. Read the fine print before booking is what I can say or fall prey to false advertising like we did.

Another great return stay beginning right from the registration desk. We arrived early due to airline changes so they stored our luggage until room was available (early)!
The rooms are a bit dated but always very clean. We especially enjoy the beautiful outdoor area which is available day or night. Pool and spa are amazing. There’s a wide price range selection of restaurants. We especially enjoyed the Bottiglia Cucina. The Monday night dinner for 2 special was delicious-especially the tiramisu two ways!

Overall, it was a very nice resort. However I deduct a star is because I am not sure what I am paying that is worth $51 resort fee/day for!? I understand the cost cover free valet, free towel for the pool, gym. But free shoe shine that nobody really use and digital newspaper that I can look up myself!? on top of that the room does not give basic amenity such as coffee/tea with kettle to boil water!!?? The room has weak shower pressure. The bath tub water pressure so weak that will take hours to fill the tub! I even paid extra to have a guarantee room deluxe king bed by 3 pm, but they weren't even ready and told me they don't know when it will be ready so I got 2 queens. So what is the point of paying extra!?

Please note that we are always able to send a kettle up to the room upon request. As far as rooms we do apologize that your room was not ready in time, check in does start at 3PM but it is not guaranteed to have rooms ready at 3PM as multiple factors can affect a rooms ready status. We do our best to make every experience perfect and consistent for our guests but there are times where we fall short, the only thing we can do is react to those situations and get as close to perfect for our guests within those circumstances.

All rental cars are a quick, bus ride from the airport. A free bus will take you to 7135 Gilespie. That is where you will also drop off your rental and bus back to the airport. The drive is easy.
