I recently enjoyed my first stay at the Fremont, having previously visited other Boyd properties, and I have to say it was quite an experience! Since this was a complimentary stay, my expectations were moderate, but overall, I was pleasantly surprised. My family from Hawaii was in town for Christmas, and we decided to treat ourselves to a quick mini-vacation in Vegas.
The check-in process was smooth and efficient. One of our two rooms was ready, so we had the bellman assist us with our luggage. To my delight, my cousin had requested adjoining rooms, and upon our arrival, the housekeeper informed us that the second room was also ready—likely just a system mix-up, but no trouble at all! My cousin quickly obtained the key, and before we knew it, we were off to enjoy some time at the casino.
We were located on the 3rd floor in rooms 305 and 306. While the rooms were on the smaller side, they were comfortable and well-equipped with a fridge, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a sufficient number of towels. Just a heads-up: if you’re planning to stay in the Fremont Street area, definitely pack some earplugs, as the vibrant nightlife can get a bit loud.
One of my favorite highlights was the new food hall, which offered a variety of options. Plus, there are plenty of dining spots within walking distance, so you’ll never go hungry!
I deducted one star for a couple of reasons: the food at the ramen spot and Lanai wasn’t particularly great, and the rooms and bathrooms were a bit cramped. However, overall, our stay was enjoyable!

Stayed in the Freemont for 4 days , its one of the older hotels, but it has been renovated. It's a great location to experience Freemont street ,people watch and see the older side of Vegas. Hotel has a smaller food court, A Tony Romas and various bars. Found the room smaller but it was fine, clean and in good condition. The Casino is the older ones so there is a slight odor of cigarette smoke around. There are a lot of restaurants and bars in the area as well as other Casinos. Yes, there are some homeless people in the area but they pretty much leave you alone. Yes, the location is loud in the evenings and overnight, we chose a room on a higher floor and to one of the sides of the building so the noise was minimal. Valet service is free to park your car. One thing that I have to give kudos to the hotel and staff, customer service was excellent, found all employees very friendly and helpful. For the price I found it a great stay, would recommend to anyone.

Overall, very good hotel and conveniently located on Fremont. Not much you can complain about when we barely were in the room and our total costs was through room comps. The staff was very helpful from start to finish. The rooms were very clean.

I prefer to stay on Fremont vs the Strip due to the entertainment and experience but I will say, you can hear the bass from your room until about 4 am. So if you’re a light sleeper, this hotel is not for you or sleep w the tv on. It did not bother me.

There is an empty mini fridge in your room that you can use but it’s not the coldest. It still did its job and kept the beer cold. There is no coffee maker in the room and the ice machine on our floor (floor 8) did not work.

My only wish is that they would put an actual comforter on the bed. At times I did get cold bc you’re mainly sleeping with just sheets on the bed. So if you get cold at night easily, maybe pack a blanket to keep on your bed. This was a personal preference though.

The convenience of where this hotel is located is awesome. Smack dab in the middle of Fremont and made everything so walkable. We arrived on Saturday night and it was a little crowded but come Sunday-Tuesday it was nice and empty! I had the best luck at Binions and Plaza! We ventured off to see the sister hotels, California and Market Street, and those were cool as well! I enjoy seeing older casinos! The location made it very easy to walk to one end of the Fremont, all the way to the other end.

When we checked out, they do offer luggage hold which was nice so we could enjoy our last few hours before our flight luggage free.

Overall, I would stay here again! I enjoyed the location!!

If you are traveling with kids, this is NOT the place to go. Little did I realize when booking that the "Fremont Experience" means not getting any sleep even with ear plugs on the 14th floor facing away from Fremont St. I will NEVER stay here again. There is also quite a problem with multiple homeless people frequenting the area, including sleeping right outside of the Downtown Container park. For those who don't know, smoking indoors is still allowed in the casinos, and even on a smoke free floor, you can still smell it.
Housekeeping no longer comes daily unless you ask every morning before 10am for them to clean your room, they are also supposedly phasing out the coffee makers according to one of the evening front desk staff who told me that was why my coffee was not replenished. This turned out to be a lie, at least for the time being, as she later called and said she found a couple coffees, and then two days later the housekeeper that she didn't ask to clean our room left more.
For the record, the cheapest place to find coffee is McDonald's at the D, as Dunkin Donuts is over $4 just for regular brewed coffee.
For fellow Canadians who are used to traveling to Vegas on the cheap, that is no longer the case. The prices of everything are astronomical, with prices being the same or more before factoring the current 40 cent exchange. Some places also insist on a credit card, which will add 3.5% more to your already inflated rates.
The one good thing at the Fremont Hotel is the valet, it's included in the resort fee and the staff are all fast and friendly.
For families, perhaps consider the Cancun resort by Hilton, it has a pool and is off by itself and quiet, rent a car. That said, the "time share" or vacation club or whatever they want to call it that they tell you is two hours, was 5 hours and they just didn't want to take no for an answer. The deal seemed good, but if a deal today is not good tomorrow, then frankly, I am not buying it. They seem to be confused by why a family might travel to Vegas and that the only reason we agreed to the presentation was for the $200 of free gambling vouchers.
Families should check out Sky Zone- get a pass for $30 and go every day for your 2 hours. It's a good workout and lots of fun. Circus Circus also has the midway rides that were $30 for under 48 inches and $60 for above. Our kids are both under 48 inches, so they rode for several hours for $30 each. They offer a fast pass for $50, but the lineups were so insignificant that it wouldn't have been worth it. There are also hourly circus acts at Circus Circus, and parking is free.
Other free parking is at Tropicana (soon to close) and Fashion Show mall.

For my first time staying in the Downtown area I was very impressed with this hotel and would certainly stay again. Checking in was the fastest and most seamless process I’ve ever had in the city and there were never any queues at the reception throughout my stay. There’s plenty of lifts serving each of the floors and again I never had a wait.

Although my standard room was small it was modern and spotlessly clean, clearly having recently been refitted. The lighting throughout was good, with reading lights, plenty of lamps and a ‘mood light’, plus the TV was a great size for the room. There was an ironing board in the reasonably sized wardrobe as well as a coffee machine, but the mini bar remained empty. The air-conditioning worked really well without being too noisy and sleep quality was wonderful. The only issue some people might have is noise from the street experience outside was loud, so if that’s likely to be bothersome try asking for a room furthest away. The bathroom was equally as clean and modern as the main bedroom area with a fantastic shower and wonderful soft towels.

Overall it was a great value stay and I’ll certainly be considering it again next time I’m in the city.

Long overdue review from my trip in October. Since 2011 have stayed at the Fremont 4 or 5 nights twice a year. Have mobility issues so like that the hotel is small and easy access to nearby casinos. Great job on renovations to casino floor and rooms and the Food Court is a great addition. Don't miss Roma's Prime Rib deal. I usually play slots in area close to exit to Fremont Experience but do miss my favorite machines that were removed.

Writing this review to thank the following employees who make my trips so special.

Front Desk - Thank you Pat and Monica for making my check in seamless and always trying to accommodate my requests.

Bell Desk - David for wonderful service

Cocktail Servers - Gigi for always greeting me mornings with coffee. Malee evening slots area serving my Bud with a big smile, and Sharon who never walks by me without asking if I would like another cocktail.

House Keeping Staff - My rooms (always get 12th floor) have always been exceptionally clean. The bathroom is still small but the walk in shower replacing tub is a great addition. Please try and leave daily tip for their hard work.

Management - Please acknowledge the above employees for a job well done !!
Looking forward to my next visit in April.

Cool location. Rooms recently updated. Newer games and wide selection. New food hall with great selection. Sandwiches, Hawaiian, rotisserie chicken, chicken tenders, pho noodles, steak and shake, Dunkin’ Donuts and more. The hotel property is significantly older but they keep up with the maintenance. They offer excellent valet service.

Originally the parking was an issue for me because I had planned on coming and going. To my surprise there was valet only which was operated by fast and friendly staff. When checking in, you pull up, unload, open the doors and front desk is right there. Elevators are close by.

If you need your vehicle you walk out the doors, valet desk is right there, an attendant gets your vehicle and is there in less than a few minutes depending on location of car, upstairs or downstairs. I stayed Sunday through Tuesday and there was at most one group ahead of me and never waited more that what felt like a few minutes. Very pleased. I did not tip during the stay as I didn’t have small bills but did tip $15 when I left and told the attendant that I had been there a few days and thanked him.

The Fremont Hotel Room was very clean and comfortable. The room is small, we had a two double bed room, two queens would not have fit. The bathroom was clean and well furnished but very small, it has a sliding pocket door because a full door would cramp the room up. The room has a coffee pot and mini fridge, which is nice. The casino is classic, a bit smokey but worth a visit. Dinning options are very good.

My sister really wanted to stay downtown but I haven’t been a fan of area after many visits. It’s perfect for some people, but at nights it’s too sketchy for me. Maybe a lower tolerance now that I don’t drink. Anyhooo, I gave in and sis got her wish to stay downtown. The Fremont Hotel is older but the room had clearly been updated. The elevators not so much. The rooms are very similar to the size and layout of a cruise ship. Very, very small, bearable with 2 people but no more. It had a nice-sized safe and closet. Bathroom was small and did not have enough room for two guests’ toiletries. Bed was fine, as was the air-conditioning. Small fridge and coffee maker in room. We had to ask on Day 3 if we could get room service (4 night stay). Casino security does a very good job keeping out the transients at night, manning all the doors in. It felt safe enough once inside the hotel during the weekend nights, packed at Fremont Street where this hotel is located. The parking garage next to the building is for Binions. Other casinos downtown are so close. Just a couple of hops next-door. The hotel makes for a very convenient trip for gambling with many casinos and fine dining within such a short distance. The Hotel food court was big and many choices. Many more transients here at the food court in the day, even with security walking around alll the time. Some transients talked to themselves inside, some digging through the indoor trash food court cans, getting into fights with Dunkin Donuts management. It was like this each day :( and was very sad to witness. Many types of slot games, but missing a larger variety. Medium number of table games. The hotel would not be a top pick for me again, but given the proximity to other casinos and great food in this area, I can see why others might like it.

We have been going to Vegas since 1986, we have been over 50 times the last 15 years we have stayed downtown almost always at Main Street Station, twice at Golden Nugget and twice at the California. Although the Casino at the Fremont was well maintained the rooms were terrible. We checked in on a Thursday and asked the desk clerk about upgrades he said that had to be done on line, so we get a room on the second floor (we traveled from Massachusetts) the room stunk we opened the shutters to see the view we were looking at a roof and a bunch of machinery.there is enough storage for clothes but good luck finding room for anything else. They had an area that I assume was a closet at one time there were no doors on it but the raised threshold was still there we both tripped over it a few times once I almost cracked my head on the safe. I also needed a refrigerator for diabetic meds the one they brought looked like it had been thrown off a building not only did it get cold it froze my meds and a couple of bottles we bought, meds in the barrel thank you Fremont. This was also a 50 dollar can ride from the Airport going back to the Airport Uber was 20 dollars, Main Street use to pick us up. On a positive note the beds were comfortable we did go to Walgreens to buy air freshener for the room. My wife and I have been playing Video Poker for 30 years we are not experts but consider ourselves decent players I know they do not build these Casinos on WINNERS but these were the tightest poker machines we have ever played I don't know if is because business is so far down or we just had the worst gambling trip we ever had. Another thing the Downtown area has turned into a SEWER we always felt safe walking Downtown and enjoyed the entertainment. I am no pride but now you have A rated junk going on, a womanizing in a chair with huge bombs that you can touch for a price, a girl dressed as a Nun (topless). Twice I was confronted by young men who wanted to know what I was staring at this was daylight, I don't know what is causing the problems ghee it Vegas has got to get on top of it. I am 72 years old and I am not looking for anything except to have a nice hotel room have a few laughs and have decent odds gambling. I know That Main Street Station is closed and from what I saw on this trip I can't see it opening anytime soon. On top of all this we are going back in October we are not sure where we are staying but it will not be the Fremont.

The hotel doesn't offer transportation, but I always take Uber from the airport. Clearly signposted within the app where to find the pickup point and you'll be looking at 25-30USD to this hotel. Any alternative offered by a hotel will be significantly more expensive and other public transportation options from the airport aren't convenient. If you only have one night don't waste time trying public options and just go with Uber.
