Hotel's Favourite
Very comfortable, big beds and rooms, very clean. But the best part was Marjorie at breakfast everyday. She’s so pleasant and friendly and went out of her way to take really good care of us. If come back just for her! Everyone on staff was very friendly and helpful. Gym has a peloton so that’s always a plus for me. Hot tub was also great. And close to a lot of things, and felt safe.

I stayed here for a week. Very friendly staff, but extremely thin walls. Breakfast was on parr with expectations for a Hampton Inn. Clean rooms and halls, but not updated in a while. The bed was comfortable to me, pretty stiff mattress. The gym is decent, but definitely cramped and there are no mats to put on the floor for yoga, stretching, or floor exercises. The noise from other rooms was the biggest downside to this hotel, being woken up by others' alarms every day; could also hear other guests' phones on vibrate mode in my room--not good. The construction in the area right now made walking to the strip not a good plan, but this hotel has a decent off strip location, being quite close and would be a good spot to stay for events at the nearby T-Mobile or Allegiant stadiums which is probably part of why it is ranked so high, combined with the affordability and reliability of Hampton Inn being a safe place to stay. The staff were friendlier and more helpful than any other US hotel or resort that I've stayed at in the past year.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on Tripadvisor. We apologize that the noise bothered you. The hotel is always trying to update and stay current with the new looks. We will be updating our fitness center next year and expanding it as well. The sleeping rooms were updated this year with new carpets, flooring, bed linens and we installed new granite counter tops on the credenzas in November 2023. We are now installing new nightstands as well, with granite counter tops. And updating more technology items in 2024. We hope that we shall see you again in 2024.

The Hampton Inn Tropicana is clean, convenient (despite construction) and reasonably staffed, however, the best thing about this hotel is the staff! In a time where customer service seems to be a thing of the past, this place has gone above and beyond. Every person we interacted with was pleasant, efficient and worked with a genuine smile. I want to highlight Marjorie in the breakfast room. We spent a week at the hotel for the National USA Hockey championships and when she found out on day two why we were there, she wished the boys good luck every time she saw them and asked that we relay their courteous behavior to their coaches. When the boys slept in for a later game, she stopped me and went to the back to get a tray so I could bring them a hearty breakfast in their room. She worked quickly but was never rushed, the food and coffee were constantly replenished, fresh and hot or cold as appropriate, and tables were cleaned immediately after a group left. Good, kind, outgoing and genuinely helpful people make the world a better place and Marjorie is at the top of that list!! Thank you!!!

My recent stay over the weekend was amazing and very relaxing. All of the staff members were very friendly and helpful during my stay. Jose at the front desk was very professional and knowledgeable on activities/food options in the surrounding area. I also required housekeeping services and engineering during my stay, both of which came quickly upon request. The standard King bedrooms are of good size and have some of the most comfortable mattresses I’ve ever slept on. The rooms come with standard amenities such as mini-fridges and microwaves. Free breakfast was also included, and the worker named Marjorie was very caring towards me as she helped me cook waffles. Overall I was very impressed with the professionalism of the staff members and the overall quality/experience of the hotel. It’s a perfect location for those who want to stay at a smaller hotel off the strip in order to avoid resort fees. Only negative is that there are parking charges, as it cost me $15 per night.

This was a great hotel, for the most part. The rooms were clean and a good size with ample space. The beds were comfortable. There was a large flat-screen TV, which we appreciated, as well as microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker with Dunkin' Donuts coffee pods! The morning breakfast was very good with a wide variety of food - eggs, usually some kind of flavored potatoes, sausage or bacon, oatmeal with various topping options (like golden raisins and brown sugar), ample number of waffle makers (so there isn't a long wait), muffins/bagels/muffins/toast, fruit, cereal and juice. The location of the hotel is just off the strip and down from the Excalibur. Our rideshare drivers never seemed to have any difficulty getting to the hotel. There is construction all around, but that's to be expected with constant growth in the city. I'd read some reviews that cautioned about noise from construction. I purposely picked a room that faced the inner courtyard/pool area and we didn't experience any noise problems at night.
The reason I didn't rank the hotel five stars had to do with the trek to get ice. Our room was on the first floor and there was no ice machine on the floor. We had to head to the second floor with our ice bucket to hit the machine located there. The problem is that there are only two elevators and one of them was down for maintenance. So there was always a wait to get the elevator to and from the second floor. The elevator also required a room key to operate. This is a great safety feature, but can be a bit of a juggle when holding a full ice bucket.
Overall, though, it is a great hotel with a lot of amenities and a much better price than the overcrowded casino resorts. The next time I visit Las Vegas, I definitely plan to stay at the Hampton Tropicana.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on tripadvisor. The new Keurig coffee maker is the best and we are so sorry but for next time, there is an ice machine on the first floor and two ice machines on all of the other floors. Please come back and enjoy the breakfast and ask for a room near the ice machine. We will be happy to accommodate your request

I just wanted to give a compliment to your employee Enrique. He was very helpful and very nice! We came here for a soccer tournament and I was looking for the laundry and he was very helpful, showing me the laundry room and where I could find the detergent and to go to the front to get change, they only take fives and tens😉

This hotel was one of the best stays I've had. The customer service was top notch, and Rafaela had our room set up beautifully. It was one of the best night's sleep because I did not hear any noise within the hotel; no doors slamming, people's voices, showers, or toilets. Just quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the temperature perfect. The blackout blinds really helped us sleep, too. The hot breakfast was delicious and the area was kept spotless by cheerful Marjorie. The traffic getting in right now is hectic with construction, but once you arrive, everything onsite is great. Parking was $15, and we left our vehicle and let the Uber drivers brave the streets.

There is a lot of pride in the employees and staff and that shows in how well run this hotel is.
The location is a little bit funky in that leaving the property for the Strip means taking an Uber, and that could get expensive. Expensive enough to perhaps negate the very reasonable room rate.
But the location is still decent. If staying between a gas station and fast food joint on a busy intersection isn't your thing than this is not the place for you.
I stayed there for two nights: I arrived in Las Vegas in the late evening stayed at the Hampton Inn and then left for the desert on the morning. I stayed the evening before I flew out. Getting to the Strip wasn't that important to me but the Uber ride on a busy Friday night was $45 each way. There is no restaurant on site so if you don't like fast food that means going to the Strip for dinner or lunch. You pretty much need a car and there is a $15 parking fee.
All in all though my stay was very very good. The staff was nice, helpful and knowledgable. The room was clean and modern enough. The room design was very user friendly with lots of outlets and lamps. Free internet.
The breakfast was more than I expected at a Hamptons Inn. They had a hot buffet that offered mini omelettes. (Since Covid I'm avoiding buffets so I didn't have any. But the make your own waffles were very cool!) I stocked up on yogurt and fruit for my room.

We had a really pleasant experience here - #1 reason is the staff. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We had a glitch with our wifi and in addition to giving me a workaround, they sent a staffer to check that it worked (it did). We asked for an extra towel and got 3, Marjorie in the dining area offered to take our water bottles for my daughter's soccer game and fill them with filtered water. You get the idea.
Also, we appreciated the microwave and refrigerator, and the fan for the room was soothing and just stayed on instead of going on and off loudly like in some rooms. Decor was a fun retro vibe.
Nice, quiet stay. Away from the strip, but not far away if that's what you're after.
Only little thing I'd suggest to the hotel management is to add another trash can to the room.

The room was spacious and very nice. We requested that the cleaning staff not use cleaning products that had a fragrance because I am allergic. They met our request and when we got there the room was very clean without any smell.
The staff went out of it's way to meet our every need. Wendy and Carlos were extra helpful with check in and answering our questions. Marjorie in the cafeteria greeted us every day with a smile and made us feel welcome. She went the extra mile to meet our every need. I forgot to take a cup of milk back to my room for a night time snack before bed and when I remembered the cafeteria was already closed . I asked Wendy if she could call the cafeteria to see if any staff member was still there. The tall security guard was still there (I don't know his name) and he said he would bring it to the front desk. Within minutes he was there with my milk. I was very thankful because I have hypoglycemia and need my protein snacks. Gwen Breaux - Thibodaux, La.
