When I arrived to check in at midnight, there was no line. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom had a shower/tub combo and a large counter to put all your toiletries on. The bed was comfortable and there was a sitting area with a table and chair.
For food, I only ate at Friday’s and the buffet. Friday’s has all appetizers for $6 after midnight and are a great deal. I had the breakfast buffet one day and it was okay. Food was hot and the service areas were clean. I only had the bacon, eggs and sliced fruit but the cost of the buffet was less than a muffin and coffee at Starbucks.
The sports book had a vendor stand where you could get popcorn for $1 and hot dogs for $2. The bar in the middle of the casino makes great drinks and the videopoker machines actually have very good pay tables (9/5 JOB for .25). I was drinking Jack and cokes and the bartenders pour from the bottle instead of using a dispenser, so the drinks had some taste to them. Service at the bar and the slots was exceptional. You never had to wait long for a cocktail waitress to come by.
The weather Saturday and Sunday was in the low 70’s. The pool area was open, and the pool was heated so I spent a few hours each day in the pool, hot tub or just sitting in the sun and reading.
This is a hotel and casino that is geared to older people as there is nothing on-site for children to do. I would stay here again.
Some real jerks there gotta ruin it for everyone else.
The day we were to arrive I received an email from the hotel to check in early so I did all of that online before we got there. We arrived at the hotel, I went to check in and I was told our room had been canceled. I asked who canceled it and she said I did. I informed her I had not and even went online and did early check in. I stood there for 10 minutes while she tried to figure it out and said it was something on their end and she would just give me my room keys and we could go to our room and she would finish the check in process after she helped the person behind me.
We got up to our room and couldn’t believe how out dated and dirty it was. The carpet was so old and stained we didn’t dare walk around without our shoes on, there was mold growing in the shower and the mattress/box spring sagged and looked like they were going to fall off the bed frame.
When I got home I received an email with the charges for my room which were almost $200 lower than what was actually billed to my card! I called the hotel and they said there was nothing they could do and I needed to talk to accounting. I called the accounting office and she said there was nothing she could do I needed to talk to the reservations department (who had already sent me to accounting). I will NEVER stay here again. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. For what I paid we could have stayed somewhere much nicer!!
