The New York - New York Hotel & Casino offers a vibrant atmosphere with its lively themed decor and entertainment options, which guests typically enjoy. However, some visitors have concerns about the room decor and air quality. While the staff often receives compliments for their friendliness, there are also reports of slow or unprofessional service. Despite the hotel's prime Strip location, noise from the roller coaster and nearby construction can be bothersome. Room cleanliness generally garners praise, but inconsistent housekeeping and outdated bathroom amenities are noted. Additionally, extra fees for basic in-room conveniences add to the sentiment that the hotel might not offer the best value.

This was the first time, that my husband and I had vacationed in Las Vegas. After reading about this hotelā€™s amenities, plus their show offerings and restaurant options ā€¦ we decided to stay here for the duration of our vacation.

We were very impressed with our choice. The accessible room we booked, was excellent. The bed was lower to the ground than normal, making it easier for me to climb into the bed every night (since I have Multiple Sclerosis). The bed was also very comfortable and spacious.

I also appreciated all of the railings on the bathroom walls and the added seat in the bathtub / shower. They also provided shampoo, body wash, body lotion, and hand soap ā€¦ for their guests to use during their stays. However; a note was left on the bathroom counter ā€¦ that stated there is a $25 charge per item ā€¦ if any of the personal hygiene products are taken out of the room.

Our room was always kept clean (even though all hotel guests can choose to reduce the housekeeping visits to their rooms). Our housekeeper always did an amazing job. Our room was kept spotless!!

This hotelā€™s selection of restaurants, was excellent as well. We enjoyed our dining experiences at each restaurant we dined at ā€¦ except for our dining experience at ā€œNathanā€™s Famousā€. (Please see our review on that restaurantā€™s page).

Our overall impression of this hotel ā€¦ is that we found our stay to be affordable, comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and we do recommend staying here.

Stayed for 3 days at the tail end of a trip to Bryce and Antelope Canyons. We rented a "Stay Well" room with supposedly "no view." What a pleasant surprise. First off, the room was one of the rooms that were upadted during the pandemic and was very spacious. The room had air cleaners (one of which was a little loud and I turned off), a water softner, as well as latches on the windows to let in outside air. The room and hallways were squeaky clean. We stayed on the 25th floor of the Century Tower and the room overlooked the City with the Mountains in the background (and they said no view - perhaps that is the case with the lower floors), and the elevators were always available, prompt, and zoomed past the first 19 floors before making a stop. The casino area was lively. The "Village," was made to resemble Greenwich Village and had many good eateires. The prices in most spots though, are pretty steep. The deli sandwiches are a good selection and are priced in line with real NYC deli sandwhich prices. Il Fornaio restaurant has a Happy Hour with pretty good Margheritas and resonably priced and tasty pizza. The only down side of the hotel is that if you stay in the Century Tower with a high number room (ours was 2573), the walk from the room to the elevator has a zig zag configuration and is quite long. My pedometer counted 152 paces, and there were still more and farther rooms up into the 80s. Overall, however, I would definitely stay in NY NY again.

The room was nice with minimal wear and tear. The rooms have a tub so you can take a bath. Water pressure in sink and shower were good in my room but sink pressure in my daughter's room was weak. I strongly suggest ordering an extra blanket or two from housekeeping as you will otherwise freeze. Pillows are soft and I fell asleep quickly both nights.
The gym is roomy with good air circulation and decent equipment in good conditions.
The hotel overall was clean and I was never overcome with smoke fumes in the casino. Staff was courteous enough. My only complaint is the $42/night resort fee AND $18 per day parking fee. I had always wanted to stay there but really, if you can avoid the fees, stay somewhere else: there are plenty of clean rooms for less.

We booked this hotel at an early bird rate, paying ~USD 170-180 per night. We weren't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly suprised.

Check In was a breeze but admittedly there was no one in the queue but by the time we turned around the queue was full. Our friends did the digital check in with zero issues.

The room was large, comfortable and clean. The black out curtains were very effective and so was the aircon given the extreme heat. Bathroom is a little outdated but clean and also spacious.

The room lacked a kettle and fridge which we were already aware of prior to arriving. It also lacked any amenities outside of shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and body cream. Sound proofing was good - we couldn't hear the roller coaster or others outside although we could hear the young kid through the connecting door on occasion.

We tended to eat breakfast across the road at Eataly as felt the quality was better. Options at the NYNY seemed a bit heavy.

The location is great - we generally walked the strip but there is easy access to the monorails going both ways. Also a quick 25ish buck ride to downtown or the arts district.

Id probably classify this as a very good mid midrange hotel, rather than seeing it as a luxurious 4 star hotel. For the price we paid we were happy with our stay.

Overall liked my stay at NYNY and found the location to be close to plenty of other good restaurants and points of interest. The stay well room was a good option and we felt it made the room more relaxing. Self check in and out on the app were really intuitive and made the check in process extremely efficient, to the point that we didn't have to interact with staff at all. Room service is over priced for the equality of the food and there's better dining options within the resort than ordering room service. The pool area was relaxing and we enjoyed that even with plenty of families there it didn't get too loud or have out of control with kids running around. While we didn't attend any events at the stadiums, the close proximity to both T-Mobile and Allegiant make this a good option if we do come back to Vegas in the future and want to attend a game/concert.

We stayed at New York New York for my wife's 40th birthday. Like many people online advised, I told the person, at registration, that it was my wife's birthday. She wished my wife happy birthday but it seemed like our experience went downhill from there.

It was early afternoon so the lady at the front desk advised us that I would receive a text once the room was ready. Just for context, we had spent the previous 3 days RVing at the Grand Canyon, so we were in desperate need of a shower! Three hours went by and no text, so we returned to the front desk and one of the check in persons advised us that our room was ready--we never received a text even through is was 20 mins past the originally scheduled check in time.

Our room was incredibly far from the elevator (almost a five minute walk!!!). The room was clean but there was a weird gurgling noise anytime water went down the bathroom sink. Also, the shower drain was a bit clogged. Also, it was unusual that the room was missing a coffee machine.

The jacuzzi was okay but it was shaped a bit weird so we couldn't both sit, submerged while watching the TV--I know, rich people problems, but the in room jacuzzi was the main reason that we chose this hotel.

Be aware that there's a rollercoaster that goes by the rooms and it runs late (past midnight) which is annoying if you're someone who sleeps early.

Our departure flight was at 11:45pm so we wanted to milk as much time out of our check out time as was possible. Original check out was 11am but I had to beg/complain to a manager about our experience before they allowed us to check out at a "generous" 1pm. Just for context, when visit hotels, we keep our rooms clean. The only thing the housekeeping person needed to do was change the bedsheets/towels and clean the bathroom--in other words, it wouldn't take more than 20 mins to clean our room and make it ready for the next guests.

We visited multiple hotels and, after seeing how fancy they, we regretted our choice of staying at New York New York. Visit for the great Pizza and the NYC style faƧade in the lobby, but not the best if you expect great service or value for your money.

Not up to Marriott quality. MGM has removed refrigerators and microwaves from the rooms. If you have small children and need to keep baby milk or other products cool youā€™re out of luck. Apparently you can rent a refrigerator but they were not available for us. MGM now charges for parking (highest fee on the strip at $18/day) and they keep raising their resort feesā€¦.so add $65 a day to whatever the rate is. They have very restricted Pool hours (10am to 5pm). Rooms were kind of clean if you know what I mean. My biggest frustration is just the level of corporate greed going on here. Just like our amazing government finds new ways to tax you, MGM has found new ways to dip into your wallet while offering fewer amenities than ever before!

Hotel was adequate, lacks some of the basic Marriott amenities but they email you in advance to let you know (ex: no in-room refrigerator, coffee or water bottles). Location very convenient to strip.

Problem came on my final day - returned from a workout prior to all day meetings and found there was no water in my entire tower (Chrysler tower, 10/23/24). Not great - but hey, stuff happens.

Problem was not that this occurred; it was the poor service recovery from the team. I notified the front desk as I checked out that morning I had a red eye return flight that evening after my meetings and would return for my luggage, and therefore would try to get a shower then before sitting on my all night flight to the east coast.

On returning that evening (after check out - was like 6pm local time), I spoke with front desk supervisor Gregoria and asked if I could get a room for ~10 minutes to take a quick shower. Was told not possible, even given the water issue (which was noted on my account and experienced by many others, so the 'resort fee' was waived). Only recourse was to rent a room for full cost - $168, which I paid, because I desperately needed that shower (for the sake of my fellow passengers and my own comfort). I was gone and checked out 15 minutes later.

I travel a lot (90-100 hotel nights a year) so I feel I have reasonable expectations - like I said, things happen, it's ok! I'm a Marriot Titanium for whatever that's worth, but even that made for zero creativity in service recovery from an unsympathetic front desk in my time of need (with an issue directly attributed to the hotel). Hope they make good use of my extra $168 for that ten minutes to shower, because I won't be staying here again.

Service: 1 out of 5
My experience with the service at New York - New York Hotel and Casino was highly disappointing. The staff, although polite, failed to effectively resolve issues. A major incident involved the pool cabana service, where the pool did not open on time, and the staffā€™s response was inadequate. Despite being assured a full refund for the cabana, I later received an email indicating the refund was under review, leaving me uncertain and dissatisfied.

Cleanliness: 2 out of 5
The cleanliness of the hotel left much to be desired. The air conditioning filter in my room had clearly not been changed, causing my allergies to flare up every time I was in the room. Basic maintenance and cleanliness standards were not met, significantly impacting my comfort during the stay.

Value: 3 out of 5
While the hotelā€™s location and amenities might justify the cost for some, my experience did not reflect good value for money. The issues with service and cleanliness overshadowed the benefits, making it difficult to see the value in the price paid.

Location: 4 out of 5
The hotel's location is one of its few redeeming qualities. Conveniently situated on the Las Vegas Strip, it provides easy access to many attractions and activities. This central location is ideal for those looking to explore the vibrant surroundings.

Sleep Quality: 1 out of 5
Sleep quality was poor due to the lack of soundproofing in the rooms. I could hear my neighbors clearly, especially at 2:30 AM, which disrupted my sleep. This issue needs to be addressed to ensure a restful stay for guests.

Rooms: 1 out of 5
The condition of the rooms was subpar. Besides the poor soundproofing, the cleanliness and maintenance were inadequate. The unchanged AC filter exacerbated my allergies, making my stay uncomfortable. Basic room quality standards were not met, which was very disappointing.

Overall, my stay at New York - New York Hotel and Casino was far from satisfactory. While the location is great, the poor service, cleanliness, and room conditions significantly detracted from my experience. Improvements in these areas are crucial for future guests' satisfaction.

This is a "one and done" hotel for me. We had a terrible experience getting checked in, the lines were insanely long. For context, we were a group of women traveling together and requested connecting rooms. Upon check in the front desk clerk assured us they would be connecting, one of the rooms was available now and the other we had to wait for housekeeping to finish up. So we loaded up our things and went to the first room. After an hour of waiting for the second room I went downstairs to check. Christian from front desk informed me that room had just been assigned to someone else and the best he could do was put us in a room on the same floor but complete opposite locations. We took it, went to the room to find it smelled strongly of sick/vomit. Went back down to ask if we could upgrade both rooms, he told us know and that we would have to deal with the vomit smell. We went to another front desk clerk who quickly changed our room to the one literally next door to our friends. This was 2 hours of needless frustration and we missed our dinner reservation dealing with all of this. I'm not normally one to complain on hotel reviews, but this left a sour taste in my mouth.

The rooms themselves were spacious and clean. The beds were really comfortable. We loved the new layout in these rooms and thought the rooms were the best part of the hotel. The resort itself has a fun New York street area we loved, but the rest of it smells strongly of cigarettes. If given a choice between this hotel or Park MGM I'd go with the Park.
