Restaurants and casino were great. Upgraded to a suite which was a big mistake, filthy, needed upgrading badly,no outlets or usb plugs anywhere. Dirty towels found under the bed, bathroom tub faucet was broken. Fridge didn’t work great. For 1500 dollars for a 2 nite stay in a suite things to me should be top notch or close to it. Plus it was on the 3rd floor with no view. And had to listen to the roller coaster in the suite. I would of never upgraded if I knew what I was going to get.
Well, I unfortunately lost the very long review I just tried to post here but to summarize, don’t read into the negative reviews! I had read the elevators have issues but it’s because they are remodeling and updating the hotel so some (I only found 1) may run slow. All you have to do is walk 10-20 feet to the next elevator and crisis averted! I encounter only one slow elevator until someone told me to just walk down the hall to the next one which had no issues so all those reviews are just ridiculous 😅. I also read the rooms were dirty and the shower didn’t drain.. no issues there! And I changed rooms due to some loud neighbors blasting music. They were able to change rooms with no issues and even gave me a credit for free drinks/dinner for the troubles (even though no fault of the hotel). My boyfriends parents came on the trip and their room was also spotless and I’ll say the beds and pillows were some of the most comfortable I’ve stayed in! My boyfriends parents had an issue with their safe one night and they promptly fixed the issue and again compensated them for the trouble (none of us asked for that). The other thing I read complaints of was the smell of smoke.. well, you’re in Vegas and most hotels and casinos allow that so if this is such an issue, go to one of the non smoking ones. They did the best they could but it is what it is and wasn’t that bad (coming from a non smoker). They had plenty of security in and outside the hotel which made me safe and secure. The food options were fantastic at NYNY. Big shoutout to Gallagher’s restaurant for the best prime rib, lobster tail and and steak I’ve ever had! Definitely a must try! My only negatives are that the waitress at Nine Fine Irishmen was lacking in her costumer service skill.. maybe she needs a vacation (or maybe just time to retire) as she was a bit rude and cranky. I also wish they had mini fridges in the rooms to hold your water and leftovers.. I get this is typical for Vegas but still would love to have that option. All the staff I encountered were stellar and went out of their way to make my stay wonderful which it was so I’m happy to come back one day ☺️☺️…
This was my fourth stay at NYNY, the last being back in 2015. Overall it’s still one of my favourite hotels for the whole location, theming and vibe, but it is noticeably tired now and it’s good to see the rooms are being refurbished and changes are to be made. Service was excellent and I really like the introduction of online check in and account management via the app, meaning we checked in and our room was available ahead of regular check in time, avoiding the lengthy desk queues which I saw at any time I passed during my stay. There are some great food options on property, however in hotel prices are now noticeably higher than ‘on the strip’ generally, whereas before it wasn’t so. With so much competition for food, it’s really worth stepping outside and looking at the options. Our room, despite being tired, was spacious and clean, with plenty of storage and everything was in working order. As other reviews have mentioned, the addition of a fridge and coffee making / kettle would be so welcome, however having visited before I knew not to expect this, so had packed my travel kettle; a Brit can’t go without a cup of tea or coffee for long and I wasn’t getting in the lift in my PJs each morning for one! One down side was the water pressure in the shower. It was one of those ‘run around to get wet’ kinds. The plumbing was also quite noisy, emitting a whining/whistling sound while running. Hence when our neighbour returned to their room at 2am each night and showered, we were awake again. Not a reflection on the “hotel” accommodation itself, as there is no issue within the rooms, but the casino floor at NYNY is very heavily smoke filled now. It’s apparent the ventilation system is in need of an overhaul if they are going to continue to allow smoking on the casino floors. Due to this, our money went to other casinos which have far cleaner air.…
The remodeled rooms are nice and everything was very clean. The hallways are even fun. One slogan on our hallway was "Darling I love you but give me Las Vegas" YES lol so fun! The roller coaster was close enough to see out the window but never loud or disturbing. The chocolate bar and Nine Irishmen I cannot recommend enough. But the rewards program is very singy. One night I drank too much and was sick in bed the next day, now my resort credit and freeplay is cut in half :(
New rooms are awesome. Decor is refreshed and beautiful. Food and drinks at the None Fine Irishman were amazing! The band there too was awesome! Great live Irish music! Highly recommend staying here. Oh and the pizza is sooo good. Gallaghers steakhouse was a great place for a nice dinner.
Ray at the piano bar was very hard working. We watched him handle a large crowd alone very efficiently and kindly. Would love to be able to see someone like him in my home town. Will be back next time I’m in town and will recommend this place to anyone visiting!
I got a great rate. Room exceptionally clean. Online check in and check out including parking easy. Service at the bars and restaurants excellent. Food court was also exceptional, high quality options
Had a pipe burst in my bathroom the first night. They eventually upgraded me to a beautiful room with a jacuzzi tub which shot out a bunch of dead bugs after turning on the jets. The food and the casino were nice though
Fun place to stay and great food options at the hotel. We had a good time and Bob from security was so kind and nice when we got lost looking for our room elevators, he helped us find them and was so nice. Great service at NFI and good dinner and we liked our breakfast at Tom’s in the morning.
The hotel is showing its age. My room was small, bathtub was cracking, no mini fridge, coffee pot or bottled water. It was fine, but not nice and certainly lacking amenities. The gym was incredibly small and very, very far away. Restaurants were great and theme is fun, staff were friendly and helpful. But the smoking, all the smoking! It was bad. I don’t think their air filtration system worked as well as some of the other casinos. Not as bad as Harrahs, but definitely not great. We spent most our time next door at Park MGM which is smoke free. Personally, I’d pass on all of Vegas, but if you go - stay next door.
