The Plaza Hotel & Casino stands out for its prime location near Fremont Street, drawing praise for its convenience and easy access to local attractions. Cleanliness receives mixed reviews, with cleanliness levels varying, while the noise from the vibrant surroundings can be a concern, though some rooms offer a quieter respite. The rooms themselves present a spectrum of experiences, with certain accommodations deemed spacious yet others criticized for being outdated. The service is generally lauded for its professionalism, despite occasional lapses in responsiveness. While some guests question the value due to hidden fees and room quality, the hotel's amenities and lively atmosphere continue to attract visitors.

We came to vegas in October for a 2 day concert at the downtown center, literally a 6 min walk. We showed up to check in and the asked if we wanted to upgrade our room to a view, it was my friends first time there so we decided to upgrade no big deal. Let me tell you, our view of fremont street was literally just the entrance. I mean we could see when the light show was happening and how busy it was but was it worth the upgrade? Maybe if they would have cleaned their windows, the window was so foggy and dirty was it was pretty disgusting. We were warned if we upgraded to the fremont view room that would be noisy, which wasn't a problem for us and honestly i didn't even notice the noise. The location was however the best part, like i've said we were able to walk to the venue easily, walk to fremont street, walk to plenty of restaurants, and a 15min uber ride to the strip, super easy and convenient. The room was clean, bed was comfy, but the bathroom, the bathroom was small. I did see reviews mentioning the bathroom being small and didn't believe it. But its so small!! We got a 2 bed room and shared with our friends, and it made it impossibel to have a little privacy in the bathroom, the sink was open and the toilet and bath were enclosed, the door barely fit the room to get in there. We literally had to shout to each other that we were changing or using the restroom area so no one walked in on anybody. Honestly depending on what your plans in vegas, I would recommend this room. Maybe not upgrade, but it was the best to walk around have a few drinks and easily walk back to your hotel room.

No. It's not the Wynn, but that's a good thing. Staff is incredibly helpful and kind. Bartenders are very attentive, the rooms are dated, but secure, and the location and cost is really hard to beat. Get a reservation at Oscar's and make sure the pool is open (for some reason it was closed Sunday). Only thing they should add is security to reach floors via the elevator.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Plaza due to a killer Groupon deal we got not too long ago. When we showed up, we were disappointed to find out that the room did not have a refrigerator however, we were able to upgrade for only $25. We were also lucky enough to get to choose whether or not we wanted a room overlooking Fremont Street or the mountains. We of course chose Fremont and ended up on the 16th floor.

Our room was great however, we had to preheat the shower for about 20 plus minutes just to get the hot water to work. In addition, due to COVID, housekeeping was not automatic and we had to request it. After the first request and changing of the bedding, we weren’t provided with any sort of covering on the mattress so that was annoying.

We also had a voucher from Groupon for slot play, Bingo matching, table matching, and apparently free drinks. We didn’t end up finding out all that was included with our Groupon until our very last day so we were unable to use or redeem any of the offerings. Had we known about what we wound have gotten at first, we would have done it much sooner. Overall, it was a great place to stay and surprisingly nice for the price we paid!

I've now had to write this twice. Long story short, we couldn't request an early check in weeks in advance, just had to hope our room was open when we got in. Balcony is inaccessible because its screwed shut even though the pictures clearly show it and the sliding door without noting that you cannot go on it, which is the reason we spent more on this room. The whole hotel stinks like smoke and smells stale and the smell of smoke kept coming in the room through the vents, under the door, from the hall. There is no protection from the noise outside, from freemont street or the construction, hopefully you can sleep through it. Housekeeping skipped our room claiming our sign was on the door, which it had not been for over 5 hours, and even after calling down and requesting it they never came that day. We had to ask for towels and water to get us to the next morning. When our room was finally cleaned a pill appeared on the floor that was found and almost eaten by my niece. I didnt bother complaining because we were about to leave and had already had significant issues with housekeeping. And there was no access to the pool from our tower even though there was a door from the stairwell to the pool, it was emergency access only. To get to the pool you had to walk through the entire casino. Your money is better spent staying on the strip in a much better hotel

My wife and I usually stay at the Plaza for getaways. Sadly to say, this will be our last stay. We were going to book a one bedroom suite for our next trip but changed our mind and booked 4 days in Laughlin instead. The room was the worst room I have ever stayed in. Room 531 is the last room on the pool floor overlooking air handlers and equipment. We didn't realize the window is in front of an employee path from the pool.
Lost a $25 food credit because the bars could not charge to my room as the system kept going down. The front desk clerk told us to charge meals and drinks to the room to be able to apply the food credits.
Wife asked the room attendant for extra towels and was told she needs to call the front desk to ask for it.
Reason for 2 stars is for good food and employee engagement (for the most part) being a 4 rating. otherwise it would be a 1.

I’ve stayed at the plaza several times and I’m never disappointed. The location is perfect being at the starting end of the Fremont experience, I often get Fremont Street view rooms which is great. During my last trip I had a view of the new Circa pool which was awesome. Most of the rooms have been updated I even had an Alexa in one of my rooms. You could still tell the hotel is old but the rooms are are always clean and they also check for room keys before going up the elevator so that’s comforting. I’ve never seen any conflicts in this hotel so I feel safe.

This last trip I visited the pool for the first time, it was small but perfect because it wasn’t crowded, good sun, lounge chairs available first come first serve. I did book a daybed for me and three friends, which is a $50 reservation and $100 minimum food and beverage purchase, however they were not serving food at the pool so that was a little annoying. But the pizza inside the casino we brought that up and it is phenomenal, definitely recommend trying the pizza. I also had a dining credit from the hotel, which the pool would not except since they weren’t serving food… I didn’t argue since I was already on a good buzz. So we use the voucher for the pizza.

The casino tables are awesome, dealers are fun, and blackjack all night, usually have $5-$10 throughout the day/night. Servers are usually really quick, but when it’s 4am it slows down a bit which is understandable.

The Good:
(1) Located right in old downtown Las Vegas. If you want to hang on Fremont street during your stay, this is not a bad option.
(2) Taxi line is rarely busy so you can get a taxi/Uber very quick to get where you need to go.
(3) Good places to eat in the hotel & casino. Hash House a Go Go is a great place to go for breakfast. There is a decent coffee shop right in the lobby if you just want a quick coffee or espresso to go. I didn’t get a chance to eat there but I heard Oscars Steak House is really great from multiple people.
(4) Decent amount of gaming there and it’s never too hard to find a table to play craps, poker, etc.

The Bad:
(1) If you’re planning to stay here to attend something at the LV Convention Center, expect a 30 minute drive/ride to and from the hotel. No connection to the monorail at the Plaza so don’t expect that to be an option for transportation. You’ll have to take taxis or ride share to get anywhere (these are easy to get and the line is always short as stated in (2) above).
(2) The whole place, including the rooms is old, dirty, and dated. It badly needs an update all around. The tub/shower was filthy and stained, the furniture was in really bad shape, and the walls were peeling. Even the exterior windows were so dirty it was hard to see Fremont street clearly.
(3) The rooms have very bad lighting. Not necessarily a huge issue but it’s a bit annoying.
(4) The rooms have NO accessible wall plugs except for in the bathroom. Not even at the area where the desk is in the room so there’s literally no way top plug in a laptop. This was super annoying and really unacceptable in 2020.

The Ugly:
(1) It is insanely LOUD at this place. If you plan to go to sleep before 1-2am and/or sleep in past 6:30am, find another place to stay because it will be impossible here if you are on the Fremont Street side of the hotel. There is currently construction on a new hotel/casino right across the street from the Plaza and they start working on it at 6:30am EVERY DAY so don’t expect to sleep in after a long night. Also, there are live bands playing nearby the hotel on Fremont Street until 1am and the street is noisy and busy until around 2am so don’t plan on going to sleep before then without earplugs.

In summary, not a terrible choice if you want a cheap trip to LV but be aware that you will get what you pay for.

We enjoyed our stay right from the beginning at the quick check-in process by a friendly employee right to a easy and painless checkout. The room was much larger than other hotels we have stayed in Vegas at a far more affordable price. For the rate we booked, we were pleasantly surprised with a spacious and clean room, big enough for a loveseat (great for additional guests). Our rooms were cleaned each day after we left and we opted for a room facing away from Fremont, which meant a quiet room where we could get a peaceful night's rest; not always easy to do in Vegas. Overall we are very pleased with our stay here.

I was looking forward to staying here at The Plaza. The shuttle picked us up on time and the driver was very nice! The greeting I received upon arriving at the hotel was not very inviting. Upon arriving to check-in at 10:50 a.m for my reservation for a non smoking room, manager Gary informed me no rooms were available. He said the only rooms were available were smoking rooms or if I wanted to upgrade a room for 20 extra dollars a night. So either spend more money or be S.O.L for 2-3 hours until a room became availble.. That's didn't sit well with me! So when Gary's lying tail left the front desk 3-5 minutes later I proceeded to check in with another host.. And what do you know! The exact room I made a reservation for was available.. non smoking, no "extra cost" and she got me checked in right away! I was pissed that he lied to us and that he was ok with a paying guest to be wandering around for a few hours just try to make a upsell or be discriminatory at best!. The 1st room they put us in was cool, until I got back for the day and had absolutely no hot water. We moved right away to a different room. The room had hot water but there was this rancid, awful sewer smell coming up from the sink once you turned the water on. The sink was also slow draining. At this point I decided to make the best of it! The 2 stars is for the amazing bed and Hash House A Go Go. The food was amazing!.. Gary sucks and shouldn't be lying to guest! Also Gary needs an attitude adjustment, and should get out of the hospitality industry if you feel you need to lie to guest or try to hit them for more money on top of what they already paid!!!

Where do we start...when getting to the hotel we’re told our reservation was canceled. Staff indicated the reservation was canceled by Allegiant Air but they could reinstate it. We were never informed through our reservation anything was canceled. We even asked if our view would be good and the desk clerk said yes. 2nd, our room view was a roof of air conditioning units and a parking garage - probably the worst view given to a guest. The clerk may need glasses. 3rd, were informed due to covid, our room would not be cleaned our entire stay. That meant reused towels, no emptied garbage or bathroom products supplied to us. Fortunately we did see a maid to get additional towels. We received no comps! The fitness center was closed. However, the hotel made sure they collected the entire $28.50 per nite resort fee for the services we did not receive. The only positive was the pool was open during these hot days. I understand times are rough due to Covid but also feel that if a business is going to take away perks, they also should be reducing fees from these perks. Thanks Plaza for helping us to decide where to stay next time because it won’t be here.
