Detailed Reviews
Situated in a really friendly village, it’s amazing as it’s dog friendly .rooms are a great size and spotlessly clean. The beds. Comfy slept so well. Think a lot of it was. They have shutters which blackout the room which helped. As well. parking is easy as plenty. The only thing the breakfast is very disappointing. The machine does not heat water so coffee tea. Everything is lukewarm and there’s no fresh baguettes. Whilst the pastries were nice and fresh , but we’re in France and we were so looking forward to having a lovely baguette for breakfast with some local cheeses. I must mention the staff nothing was trouble. They were friendly. They had the most amazing attitude made our stay really nice

Our group of cyclists had set up their base camp at the Château de Petit Bois for a 3-day cycling trip in the region of Cosne-D'Allier and the Forêt de Tronçais. Remarkable site and environment, excellent welcome, accommodation and meal service completely up to our expectations.
We were also particularly touched by the kindness of the entire castle team. A successful stay in every way. I recommend.

I never post reviews, but it's such a lack of professionalism and quality that I can't say anything for future customers...
Booking confusion (do not book on their "official site" indicated on Google, the hotel will not have your reservation), cold and passive-aggressive exchange by email. When we arrived at the scene, we were informed that we were 15 minutes late and we had to return to reception 3 times:
- 1, impossible to understand the door closing system (even though someone led us to the room. When there is such a complicated system, explaining it to the customer is a minimum).
We will find the staff so that they can explain it to us.
- 2, the badge allowing us to close the door cannot be found and the towels are missing. We return to see the staff.
Answer: The badge is missing for this room (No. 1), apparently the staff and management are aware but we continue to allocate this room which does not lock. We are still given towels without any offer to change rooms.
- 3, return to the room, the toilet is dirty (traces at the bottom), we see cobwebs everywhere even on the headboard, a dead insect in the corner of the room, a toothpick at the foot bed. We come back to see the staff, the waitress angrily mentions "They have allocated room 1, we are not giving room 1". Even though it was this same person who accompanied us there...
The waiter ended up changing rooms for us (if this had been done on our first visit to reception, it would surely have avoided this comment).
The cleaning of this last room is OK if you are not too careful (traces of limescale on the shower, dust, cobwebs), the room is noisy.
Also, it's not clear that the rooms are in a building next to the castle.
The castle is in a village
Positive point: real shutters on the window.

We booked to stay for one night at this hotel whilst on a road trip through France. We were told to arrive between 2 and 6pm as the check in desk was only open between these times. We arrived just after 2.30pm to find the place all in darkness and locked up! We tried ringing the doorbell several times and calling the telephone no on the website to no avail. We waited in the car for quite some time and in the end had to contact Expedia (who we had booked through) to find us an alternative accommodation for the night. I strongly suggest you avoid this place at all costs!!!!!
