Wonderful place, unfortunately we were there for only one night. The place was quant and lovely, and the breakfast was great. Our small "Freedom Village" room was the usual quirkiness that you expect from B&B's (very tight quarters, can't stand up next to the bed, no room for suitcases, small queen bed, etc.); but you have to overlook those things when you stay in B&B's. And as a B&B, this was one of the best.
Strongly recommended. The room we recently stayed in, called Josiah Bartlett, was huge. One of the largest rooms we'd ever stayed in. Very much appreciated. Breakfast is served with a smile, and is quite substantial, a good home-cooked meal.
I’m actually kind of sad we only got to stay one night here! Nick has the coolest setup! There’s a huge dining area and a bar, which is awesome! There are lots of adorable sitting areas both inside and out! We sat on the covered porch for most of the night with drinks in our hand! He has gas fire places scattered throughout the outdoor seating area and lots of rocking chairs! Everyone is super friendly, including the guests who were staying there with us! Nick and his mom go ABOVE ANE BEYOND to make you feel at home! While we were there Nick even ran to pick up a take out order for one of the guests…I thought that was awesome! We were on our honeymoon and he gave us an upgraded room for no extra charge. Nick cooks breakfast each morning himself! We had amazing breakfast sandwiches on homemade bread! There were 3 different hot breakfast choices for us to choose from! To start we had yogurt and pastries and then we got OJ and fruit with our meal. There was a variety of coffee and tea available as well! Each room is different and decorated with such class! I’m always hesitant to stay at a B&B but after reading all the reviews and seeing the pictures, I decided we would give it a try! I’m so glad we did! If we are ever back in the area this is the only place we will stay!…
My wife and I have been doing mystery weekends for a number of years now and Nick and his staff were fantastic this weekend keeping the game flowing. The inn itself if immaculately clean and the food was perfectly prepared by the inn owner Nick who puts his culinary talents into all the meals that are served. There are fresh muffins of coffee cake in the morning before breakfast is served and usually fresh cookies in the afternoon.
After a long week in Chicago on business, I met my wife up at the Bernerhof to relax for two days. I did not arrive until midnight on Friday. Saturday breakfast was excellent as always having a freshly made veggie omelet, yogurt and juice. There is coffee and mini muffins early every morning then cookies in the afternoon. I had a few reports to write and I enjoyed doing these on the porch. I highly recommend The Bernerhof for a relaxing get away.
