Brian and Mary Ellen the perfect hosts....You made our stay a very pleasant memory. Once we walked through your doors and were greeted by your staff it all went up hill from there. We were able to peak at a few of your rooms and found them all to be lovely. Our stay in the Buckingham room was extremely comfortable....

We wanted a quiet, tranquil retreat where we could relax and unwind with a little pampering and that's definitely what we got at the Manor on Golden Pond. The hotel is in a beautiful setting; on a hill overlooking Squam Lake and surrounded by mountains and forest. We had the Stratford room which had a little patio outside with wonderful...

The facility is tranquil and well appointed. A beautiful location very relaxing with plenty of activities. A resort of this caliber should have a fine table. Far from it. The menu has little imagination in the main restaurant and the food is mediocre at best. The pub food is far from it. Ham steak and beans???? No sandwiches or burgers...

On a hill overlooking Squam Lake (On Golden Pond) is a grand manor which waits to meet your every desire. The Manor is from the turn of the century which boast beautiful wood paneling and fine carvings. The food is gourmet and reasonably priced. The service is impeccable. Our room had a fireplace and a deck overlooking the lake. In...

My husband and I stayed here as part of our New England road trip honeymoon. I must admit it, I was a bit taken aback when I first saw the property -- it is a teeny bit run down in places. However, any hesitation that I may have had upon first glance quickly dissipated! This is a Manor, after all....

Boy am I perplexed by this one. This property is supposedly a Small Luxury Hotel - when was the last time they reviewed the property? As you drive up the drive you see a large building - and upon closer inspection it is in need of tlc. We were greeted by a very friendly person who showed us the property...

My wife and I were planning to have our balcony looking right out on Golden Pond. But we could barely see the lake with out "lake view" room. Thanks to preservationists (which I generally applaud), there are no hotels on the lake. This one is maybe a half mile across the road and up a hill from the lake. So,...

It's a bit pricey for the area, but the interior and service are worth it. We visited during bike week and it was a beautiful, quiet hideaway in the trees with a great view of Squam Lake. The staff/owners provide exceptional, personal service. We had the same woman wait on us in the wood paneled bar, and in the evening...

Went for a conference and the boyfriend came with. Driving up, I thought - ugh - this place isn't as nice as I thought it would be. But by the time we left, I had such affection for the place and the people - that I was able to see the stateliness that I overlooked at first approach. I came...
