I don’t know if it was a good deal or their standard price but this was one of the cheapest motels I’ve stayed in recently.

Rude staff, bugs in the room, unappetizing breakfast; I would not recommend this motel. We booked it because our airbnb cancelled and it was the only "affordable" place with availability left, but I still do not think it was good value for money.

With a corporate chain type motel, you definitely want to have a confirmation number and written price. The Sunset is an old-fashioned family business. In lieu of a written reservation agreement, I suggest you obtain & record the name of the person with whom you speak, and the date & time. When you call to re-confirm (a few days before arrival), you can refer, if necessary, to the reservation made with "Mrs. Nina Patel, on Jan.25 . . ." [fictitious name used here]. Hope this helps.
