Very plain room with a slight odor. Definitely needs updated looks. We had an end unit and gave some relief from any road noise. Beds were comfortable. Tiny tv. Bathroom was clean. Was not impressed that we had to drive a few miles to pick up the key.
Cute bear decorations inside and outside the unit. Room was very nice - had fridge, sink, microwave and dishes. very clean. Great inexpensive place to stay. No pool but not a far drive to the lake. Recommend this place.
Outside not so impressive, but inside - yes. Excellent beds, good wifi, shower ok, and cute decorative touches to this older 5-unit building. Key must be picked up nearby, but worth the short trip for the peace and quiet of this place. Traffic on Hwy 3 died down and we slept well.
Bad smell upon opening the door, the top linen on the beds did not look clean at all. There were bad stains on the throw pillows on the bed. Black mold on the ceiling above the shower, and all around the top rim of the plastic shower stall. There was hair in the hair dryer and hair on the bathroom floor. There are For Sale signs at both the Bear Tree Lodge and the other property in Weirs where you have to check in, so it is a safe bet they don't care about the property any longer. We booked for both Friday and Saturday, but left early Saturday, never to return, and you can bet they refunded nothing for our trouble!
Lodge was clean and tidy but did smell a little damp. Shower was good and bed fine - bit out of the way especially in mid Oct when many things nearby had closed for the season. Nonetheless it was an ok base to drive the fall foliage and around the lake. In the summer this would be a much nicer as you would be able to cook and sit outside etc but in fall less good.
