Plenty of room. We had two bedroom, two bath loft suite. Kitchen is nice to have coffee and breakfast. Gas fire place makes it cozy. Rooms are basic but clean. Restaurants bar cozy chalet atmosphere with unfortunately horrible food. Service was good but we would try the restaurants across the street if we return.
Overall the facility is great. Nice rooms, nice pool, great location. But no hottub (outdoor hottub is closed for the entire winter), no sauna (closed for covid), toilet paper was more like wax paper, coffee ran out in the morning, no shuttle to Sunapee. Wish we could enjoy it more but just kept running into things that weren't right.
We spent one mid week night at the Mountain Edge Resort to get an early start skiing at Mount Sunapee. We used Choice rewards points for the booking. I was a little nervous about booking a stay here as the reviews on Choice's website were not great. Let me preface this by saying my husband stays in hotel rooms 200 nights a year due to work travel and has seen it all. He said that the low rating this hotel gets is not deserved, it was better than expected. We had a "2 bedroom" penthouse room, that is really a 1 bedroom with another bed and sofa bed in an open loft. Choice's website has very little description or information on the rooms so I am going to provide more detail than normal. The upstairs had a King sized bed, bathroom with shower and a sleep sofa. The downstairs had a full sized kitchen, bathroom, huge living room with two additional sleep sofas, a dining room and bedroom with King sized bed. Yes, the rooms have some signs of wear/tear like scuffs, carpet with some damage, the curtains in the bedroom had bleach spots all over them, but those were minor things. The unit was satisfactory in its cleanliness which is most important to us. The water pressure in the show was AWFUL in both bathrooms and the water temperature was barely lukewarm. The hotel offers a continental breakfast downstairs, from 7:30 to 10:30 am, so if you are an early riser you are out of luck. The breakfast was decent and as expected for a hotel breakfast; yogurt, juice, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, refrigerated breakfast sandwiches to reheat and coffee. No fresh fruit and not much for a person who is gluten free like myself, but I always travel prepared with my own food. A few things to note that we felt was odd was the the front desk was unstaffed between 11pm and 7 am; the sauna was closed (probably another victim of Covid), the tv in the living room didn't have any cable, only over the air channels and the tv in the bedroom that had Dishnetwork, it was extremely blurry and not high def as we've all become used to; the hvac system is either "cool" or "heat", no ability to adjust the actual temperature so it was either freezing cold in there or way too warm to sleep. Minor complaints, but may be important to some. Overall, we'd stay here again.…
Stayed with my family for three nights in a one bedroom Suite. The room was much larger than we anticipated. The lack of photos on the website don’t do it justice. We were very comfortable in the room even with the four of us. The alcove has a queen bed, closet, desk and two night stands. The pull out sofa worked well for my son. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare small meals and even a counter with four stools. The hotel is very convenient to the mountain. The room was perfectly clean when we arrived but some renovations could be done - especially since we paid over $400 a night. The drapes were bleached out, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall in the bathroom, and the water pressure was bad. Overall I would stay again.
Really enjoyed staying here and it really is a cosy place in the winter. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. They have a good knowledge of the area and recommend nice places to visit even if you are here for just couple of days.
Loved this resort. We used it as a central hub for our day trips to a different state each day for fall foliage. Nothing we had planned was more than a 3 hour drive. The pools and hot tub were great for relaxing after full days of being in the car. The decor was fun to check out and felt very calming. Great view every time we walked out the main entrance of the foliage. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Arrived at resort and was in aww of the beauty. The wood and stonework were beautiful. Our room was spotless and the fireplace made it perfect for my husband and I to relax in after a day of exploration.
My husband and I stayed at the Mountain Edge Resort and Spa Sept 24 - 26, 2021 so we could attend our niece’s wedding at a nearby venue. Before I tell you about how lovely our suite was and the great staff at the hotel, I need to tell you about a truly remarkable experience we had while there. On the day of the wedding a van was scheduled to pick us at at 3:15 pm. By 3:30 no van had arrived. There were several weddings going on in the area that day and other vans and limo’s were picking up various groups of people from Mountain Edge to go to weddings at other locations. The resort owner, Tom, was working hard to make sure all of the Mountain Edge guests got on the right vans and limo’s. Amidst all this, Tom noticed that my husband and I had been waiting a while. I had also texted my brother to try to find out where our van was. In a splendid gesture, Tom offered to take us the 4 miles to the venue in his personal car!!! Talk about Reaching Higher for your guests!! Just as we were getting into Tom’s vehicle my brother called and said they located the van and it was on its way to get us. Tom did not have to take us after all, but we will be forever impressed by his spontaneous generous gesture. Our next trip to NH will include a stay at the Mountain Edge and we will surely recommend it to others. Now a bit about the hotel. Our mini- suite was spectacular. It had a fully equipped kitchen, a living area with a fireplace, a balcony looking out to the mountains, a master bedroom and bath, and a den with a queen size bed and desk. It was so well appointed and we were very comfortable there. We did not get to try the spa services due to all the wedding activities and family visiting, but reading about what they have to offer I will definitely try it next time. The location is perfect for getting around Sunapee, the harbor and the lake. There is a free museum with the history of the area which we really enjoyed. Plenty of cute shops and restaurants are around too. Steven Tyler of Aerosmith owns a home near the lake and is occasionally spotted in town. All in all, I can strongly recommend the Mountain Edge Resort and Spa!…
Old fashion style, but not in the nice way, OVER PRICE, no breakfasts which is disappointing, they need to update, nice costumer service for the price it was definitely not what I expected unfortunately it was the only hotel available in the area
Resort was very clean. Our rooms were bigger than expected. We had 2 - 2-BR with Kids and and grand kids. One had a loft which the grandkids loved. Lot of fun tubing and fishing on Lake Sunapee. Staff were very helpful and polite. Indoor pool and spa was very convenient. Planning on returning next year.
