Stayed in this place just before Hallowe'en so it was decorated with pumpkins as scarecrows outside. Lovely old building so the rooms were a bit small but well serviced (it's a B&B after all) - we were at the back of the place. Downstairs is a splendid bar which was busy with locals and a big bonus of having several...

My wife and I went to this B&B for our 1st Anniversary last week....it was nothing like what we were expecting. The room was tiny, the mattress formed a "V" in the middle when we were in it, there was no heat in the bathroom and we lost power twice just in our room. To me the worst part was...

We thoroughly enjoyed the comfort of our room. It was nice to rest, and when we wanted to join civilization, we played cribbage in one of the Inn 's little side rooms. We enjoyed a special drink each evening before dinner in the Inn's pub like bar. We especially were delighted at the onset of the special feel of the...

We just got home from a quick 2 night trip to the 1785 Inn. We needed a couple of days away and wanted to do a little Christmas shopping. This was our second time staying here this year as we try to get away here at least two times a year. Our room was very clean and lovely with a...

We spent the Thanksgiving weekend in North Conway and stayed at the 1785 Inn. It was the exact opposite from a big, hotel chain and we loved it. We met the proprietors right off the bat when we checked in and saw them several times around the inn during our stay as they readied the inn with holiday decorations. Everything...

This inn has one of the best views in the area. This is a country inn, not for people who prefer staying in modern resorts. The building has country charm. The rooms are uniquely decorated and make for peaceful escapes as there are no tvs in them. The common rooms (living room and lounge) offer nice places to hang out...

I went to the 1785 Inn for a romantic weekend w/ my boyfriend, was very disappointed. We arrived only 1/2 early, and even though the room was available, staff not friendly about letting us go on up. When we did get into our room, there were bugs on the ceiling and in the curtain rods, it was horrible! Not to...

Do not be tempted to pay $219 + taxes for this hotel just for the view, because you will struggle to see it through the curtains, blinds and fly-nets. The walls are so thin I heard a neighbour snoring + other noises I would rather not have been privy to. The bedlinen is faded, the bathroom is pokey, in need...

The room was tiny with a really creaky bed. The lock got stuck on the door and we told them we were locked in our room - but the next morning when we were locked in for even longer and had to shout to get let out it transpired that they hadn't mended it, The food was fantastic, but the...

We stayed only one night at the Hotel. Not a bad place. Breakfast was included but beware that they will charge your credit card for service (tip) without advising you. I found out after the fact when I received my Visa statement. We stayed in room 17. The shower was the worst ever, including secluded places in South and Central...
