I am hoping this hotel reacts promptly to the need of detailed attention for upkeep. The facility is generally still in good shape, staff is nice however small details show a relaxed attitude which should not be tolerated. Mold in the shower, torn window curtain, coffee splash on the room entry door, spill on bed platform and some dirt on the wall.
Great location and nice rooms. Hotel has an indoor pool and gym, as well as serves continental breakfast on weekdays and full breakfast on weekends. Very nice lobby area and offered a great choice of various snacks, etc. in the lobby.
I had multiple issues, bathroom shower/tub had mld growing in the clear chalking, toilet kept running. Bed was hard and uncomfortable, couch in the room we sank into. Staff couldn't care less about the issues & were very dismissive.
Advertised bar and restaurant, both were closed on holiday weekend. Rooms dingy and outdated, old bed linens. Was told by valet street parking was free Sunday and received a parking ticket. Great location but it ends there. Used to come here often but this is no more than a two star hotel
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed. I usually stay at a Hilton 20 weeks minimum for work. This hotel is worse than a Knights Inn. First, I had the hotel reservation made and paid using the Hilton app. I arrive and I'm asked for a card for incidentals. I provide a card to later discover they held the room and incidentals on the card even though another card also had a hold. It took 2 weeks for the hold to fall from the account. The guy at the desk was rude and when I asked for help he said his managers couldn't do anything and to call Hilton. The hotel was loud as doors slammed at all hours. I asked to have rooms switched after being placed in a room connected to a room with loud children all night. That was denied. I requested towels and additional coffee daily as none was ever brought to the room. This Hilton did not offer coffee in the lobby or a complementary breakfast but charge 15.50 for what is free elsewhere. The bed was uncomfortable and sleeping on the ground would had been more comfortable. The air in the room was not working and only the heat continued to run. I reported these issues numerous times and was told they could do nothing. This is the worst hotel I have stayed in. They are ruining the Hilton name. The only positive is the location. My next business will result in staying at the Mariott down the street which offers free breakfast and better amenities for a better rate. …
The ONLY good thing I can say about this hotel is it’s location! The man at the front desk that checked us in had an attitude problem and only after he ran our credit card did he hand us a piece of paper that told us that the bar and the restaurant were closed for our entire stay. The reason we chose this hotel was because of it’s location, the on-site bar and the on-site restaurant! The bar and restaurant are open every other night just not the nights that we booked. Nowhere on the website or when I called about our reservation were we told this, but after we checked in and paid for our stay it was mentioned by the man with the attitude problem. I understand that staffing is difficult right now but at least be honest and tell us that those amenities are not available to us prior to charging our credit card, maybe we would like the option to look elsewhere! I hope that you do not mind swimming in a fish bowl because that is exactly what it is like to use the pool, lots of very large windows without any coverings at all that allow any and all people walking or driving by to watch you go for a dip. The room seemed to be generally clean or at least wiped down good other than the extremely out dated, chipped and pealing finish on the tub. Gross. In the third floor hallway near the elevators my boyfriend and I both noticed part of a candy wrapper on the floor and each time we used the elevators there it was, we exchanged comments to each other after noticing it about a dozen times or so wondering if it would still be there when we checked out and yes the candy bar wrapper stayed at least as long as we did, most likely it still is. Oh and I don’t want to forget to mention that they have “free” Wi-Fi, however if you prefer a more secure and much faster Wi-Fi experience you will need to pay extra! However the partial candy wrapper on the third floor by the elevators is yours for the taking! Thankfully being downtown we had lots of places in walking distance to eat and drink at and that is why we are rating this hotel a 2! …
Great service, nice accommodations, excellent location. We were able to check in early and our room was clean and well kept. It was nice and quiet. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend
A very nice clean Hilton located in Downtown Portsmouth. The digital key entry was awesome and to then walk into a clean pristine room was so welcoming. Arthur at front desk was very cheerful with a smile as we were leaving the lobby area. I really like the hotel and will return.
We liked this hotel very much. The restaurant was not open during our stay but there are many restaurants within walking distance. Staff was professional and friendly. The hotel is very clean. For some reason they gave us an accessible room so it was huge with lots of floor space. The bed was very comfortable. We will certainly stay there again.
have stayed here many times. Location perfect for downtown strolling. This time the lobby was not inviting…no water station, cookies or decorations. 4th floor hallway was gross..ground in food, papers etc…hadn’t been vacuumed in awhile. Room furniture tattered. Tub badly chipped. Bedspread needs to be replaced. Breakfast room is delightful. Full breakfast or continental…,.very nice. Staff is excellent. Will stay there again…I hope they get back to basics.
