The hotel is conveniently located near the highway and the roundabout. The parking area is large, but I had trouble finding an empty parking space on Saturday night. I had to circle twice until someone vacated a parking space. The room was fine for me. Bed was comfy, hall was quite. Housekeeping was by request only, which was fine for me. The elevator was small and the wood paneling inside was scratched all over the walls. There weren't any bars of soap in the bathroom. The sink and shower both had pump bottles with liquid soap, which was a bit messy when reaching from the sink to the wall to pump the dispenser for soap. Overall not a bad stay.

We found the location to be convenient, as it was right off the highway and within a reasonable distance from downtown. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Pool was too cold for enjoying. No outdoor seating area. Restaurant hours were not as advertised.

On July 16, 2022 I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I travel between Maine and New York frequently and regularly choose hotels with pools to relax after long drives. When I checked in the young woman at the desk told me I missed pool time as it was 9:30 pm and the pool had just closed. I was disappointed and surprised that the pool was closed so early but I understood. When I went to retrieve my luggage from the car I was able to see that there were in fact guests in the pool. I went back to the desk to see if the the agent was mistaken but she insisted that the pool is closed and she went to inform the guests who were bathing. Twenty minutes later I went out again and two women were still in the pool. I asked them if they knew the pool was closed and they pointed out the sign clearly expressing that the pool doesn’t close until 10 pm. At this point it was 9:55, too late for me to change and jump in. I had missed my opportunity because of mismanagement. I also feel I was discriminated against. I have written twice to the hotel and also to IHG but have not even gotten a response.…

I stayed here for 2 nights and I felt that the employees here were not friendly whatsoever. Upon entering the lobby, I saw no one working behind the counter and it was only after approaching did I see a young female employee sitting down, away from the views of guests entering the building. Her demeanor gave me the notion that she did not want to be there during the check-in process. She essentially just asked me for my ID, credit card, and then gave me my room key without even a greeting or a smile. This Holiday Inn appeared clean and well kept upon entering the lobby. What was shocking was finding that there was only ONE elevator servicing 5 floors of this hotel. It didn't help that they packed the 5th floor with guests while leaving the other floors less occupied. The room that was assigned to me was clean upon initial inspection. However, upon further inspection, the room had several flaws that needed to be addressed. For example, the bathroom ceiling had stains from a previous water leak that could be a mold hazard. The shower stall also had a shower head that was completely detached from the wall. Is this hotel even worried about water flowing into the inside molding of the showers? There was also no luggage rack inside the rooms. If you're in Portsmouth on a business trip, do not accept rooms at the very end of the building. I was provided a room on the 5th floor at the very end and the Wi-Fi DID NOT reach more than 50% of the room. When I was able to connect to their Wi-Fi, the signal was weak and the speed was drastically reduced. This is one of the most basic concepts that need to be satisfied when setting up wireless internet and they couldn't even get that right! Considering that Holiday Inn does not provide complimentary breakfasts and is always overpriced, my advice is to head next door to Roundabout Diner & Lounge and have breakfast there. If you're not in a hurry and have some time, venture downtown and try one of their many breakfast locations but don't waste your time/money eating on-site. Overall, I wasn't too fond of this hotel. Guests should not get the impression that the employees would rather be someplace else than working. I was not the least bit surprised when I saw that that no employee was at the front desk when I checked out. One wasn't hiding either .. go figure.…

The room was clean and set up well. They have a small pool (didn’t look great) and workout area. It could have been better if the bed wasn’t so uncomfortable and if the AC was adjustable. My back felt like it was broken every morning. The hotel has the AC locked. We like it cool when we sleep and it would get up to 68 in the room which for us is hot.

Room was just re done. Beds were extremely comfortable! Tiffany B went above and beyond making sure my stay was enjoyable. I can’t thank her enough. Well worth the reasonable rate per night. I look forward to staying here again.

We stayed twice in this season due to work, and costumer service was amazing! Especially Tiffany B. We had many changes due to delays and change of schedule and she was right there helping us! It really made a difference in our stay!
