Kendra Mayo, the Sales Manager was amazing to work with from start to finish in planning our Corproate Event at the Courtyard Marriott. She answered all my questions in a professional and timely manner- I can't speak highly enough on how communicative she is. Kendra went above and beyond to make sure the day of went as smoothly as possible and our staff for the day of- James and Hilary showed us such a high level of customer service and we all really enjoyed the food. Thank you so much to the staff at the Courtyard Marriott for making it a really great day!
The hotel was just what we needed for a one night stay. Rooms were large. Very updated, pool area was very nice and staff friendly. We did not eat there so can't comment on the food quality. A great choice in the area.
We have always stayed in the main section of the city, but found that it was very pricey, so we tried this option and loved it. There was a shuttle which is most helpful and it is only a mile or so out of town, an easy walk if it was a different time of the year. Staff was very friendly, parking is free, there is a fitness room, pool and small restaurant.
I needed one more night this calendar year to make my elite status of 75 nights. I like Portsmouth and have stayed here several times in the past. This time will be the last. My room was first floor by the dumpsters, noisy, hallway at 10:30 PM was loud, no recognition of elite status at check in, no offer for a beverage or points. This place was not busy. I had to leave early in the AM and at 6:53 I asked the restaurant man if I could get a coffee to go and he said they don't open till 7 AM. If I wasn't running late I might have waited, however apparently this establishment doesn't take pride in customer service.
We enjoyed our stay at this Courtyard. The rooms were updated, clean and well appointed. The staff was friendly. We didn't use any amenities in the hotel or have any food. We stayed overnight but we slept well.
We were tired of staying at another chain hotel in the area that had gone downhill recently so we decided to look around and try the Marriot Courtyard. We were glad we did. We booked the hotel for an overnight trip to visit our daughter who is a student at UNH. The hotel was tucked away in a wooded area away from all the drama of downtown Portsmouth. We were greeted very warmly upon entry and noticed the gas fireplace was blazing creating a nice ambiance. There was a bar and a nice size seating area. The hotel was very clean and bright upon entry. Our room was on the third floor. Our room was clean, updated, smelled nicely, and had plenty of room to relax in. We even had a balcony with two chairs if we wanted to sit outside. The huge TV, microwave, coffeemaker, and refrigerator all worked to perfection. A big difference from the other hotel. If we crossed paths with a staff member, we were always greeted nicely. The hotel was only a few minute drive to downtown Portsmouth and about a 15 minute drive to UNH. This hotel doesn't charge you $40-$50 a night for parking like many others in town do. The hotel was competitively priced for the area but cheaper than staying downtown. We enjoyed our stay so much that we went home and booked another stay for two nights at the end of October when I run the Seacoast Half-Marathon in Portsmouth.…
Not gross, but not the most stellar of stays. Room keys randomly would stop working so back and forth to front desk (I encountered FOUR other guests with the same issue on my last trip down), Wi-Fi has been down all day (died in the middle of a work Zoom call) with no ETA for when or if it will be back, put out the Do not disturb sign for an hour during said call so I completely missed housekeeping services (I need to pick up clean towels myself downstairs). On the bright side, the avocado toast at the cafe was delicious. Clean room but service definitely needs work.
Clean, comfortable room. My issue is with the lack of even a complimentary cup of coffee or tea outside of the tiny percolator in the room. We never use the in room percolator due to lack of the ability to tell if it’s ever been cleaned. We just stayed at a Fairfield in Syracuse NY which provided a simple breakfast and coffee and tea 24 hours in the lobby. So we’re paying more for less. The Fairfield was just as nice and clean. This property has decided to have a Starbucks. So no complimentary coffee or tea nor as much as a cup of yogurt. I hope this is not a trend for all Marriott properties but just this property’s management. Check carefully when picking a hotel if you’re interested in getting a bit more for your travel dollars.
The location is great and the team there is kind and courtesy. Sadly efficiency and cleanliness are not priorities. Sometimes conflicting information given at front desk. I want the basics met and anything above is just “more”, they miss the basics.
Two dots for comfortable beds, and clean room (to start). The hotel is nicely decorated and seems well kept. The staff are the issue. They are the type to listen to you, then just ignore you after they walk away. Don’t expect your loyalty status to get you anything here, I couldn’t even get my free fast wi-fi. Room never got serviced, so I requested that they send up fresh towels while out to dinner. Towels never arrived.
