Go elsewhere . We stayed here because it is pet friendly. It is not even suitable for dogs! We arrived at 5 pm and the first impression of the place was sketchy. Our room was located in the rear and the back area was littered with broken furniture and garbage .The hallway was not vacuumed and stunk . Bathroom was not clean and bugs were on the floor. The following morning we got a cup of coffee which was lukewarm and tasted like septic sludge and free breakfast not worth it. Turned on tv to watch news and power went out . Room and hallway pitch black - no emergency lights. No power no shower. We left because no one was at the front desk but decided to return as we had forgotten to return key card . We asked for a refund and for manager . Daughter behind desk spoke no English and went upstairs to find parents cleaning rooms in the dark. Whereupon the owner said no tip? I said where’s my refund ? STAY AWAY. Hampton Inn same price(250 a night) Better service just no pets!…
When we went to check out after our stay a man alleging he was the owner came to check our room. (We had caused no damages, we did not smoke in the room and did not receive any complaints during our stay. The manager (in a very odd change in demeanor) decided to check the bedding and sheets one by one and then started shouting that we had stolen one of two duvet covers on the bed. We told him if it was not in the bed now that it was not on when we entered the room. He began to get aggressive and shouting at my wife simply because she asked him to repeat what he said and that she was trying to help. We attempted to get him to come watch us search our luggage and car to show that we did not take any item from the hotel but he refused. I asked him to check the cameras to show that we did not leave the room let alone come out with a duvet cover. Why would anyone steal a duvet cover? I don’t know? We wanted to have the police come so they could document the situation and demonstrate we did not have a duvet cover in our possession. At the mere mention of police he screamed at us and we left. Many many review sites have stories that describe the same premeditated situations where this hotel and it’s disgusting manager are stealing from NH citizens . They cheat…
This place is a dump. Trash and debris, abandoned toilets outside. Smoking, cigarette smoke in the entire hallway. My door didn't close properly. A high woman was smoking cigarettes outside in the back parking lot (which was scary and sketchy) she was taking to herself and flailing her arms (totally high). The room itself was ok. Decent size. Updated compared to the dumpy look of the hallway and outside Water pressure and temp were very poor. People cleaning the rooms and front desk were not wearing masks. When I came to check in there was no one at the desk. A child finally came and got an adult. We stayed because we were attending a concert at the nearby Bank of NH pavilion. So, it was too late to drive 2+ hours home. I checked out early because it was so gross. When I went to leave, once again no one at the desk. I left my key with a note saying I was checking out. I called when I got in the car, getting voicemail. Then the NH # forwarded to VT #. I left a message. No call back.…
CHOICE HOTELS IS APPARENTLY AFFILIATED WITH THE ECONOLODGE IN Tilton NH a business that it's now apparent has a bad reputation of claiming guests "steal" duvet covers in order to wrongfully keep the 100 dollar deposit. We very politely at first thought it was simply a reasonable misunderstanding but quickly realized this was a planned effort to steal our deposit. We never left the hotel until checkout but when we asked them to clear the room to get deposit they made these false claims. We suggested they go back and verify with cameras that it was q mistake on there part. We asked them to come look through all of our bags and our vehicle to prove we didn't have said duvet cover. They immediately demanded we leave and never return. They refused to check our luggage but we pulled it all out and took personal videos showing our luggage didn't have any of there linens. They wouldn't check cameras and demanded we leave property immediately. Point I'm trying to make is never rent a room from The econolodge on tilton nh. And obviously choice hotels both are terrible options for anyone looking for lodging. #EconoLodge #choicehotels #tiltonnh #shalimarresort #thefts #TheftPrevention #illegalActivities…
I highly encourage everyone to never book here. This was hands down the worst hotel experience I have ever had. My husband booked this hotel (didn't read reviews...he does now!) for Saturday night, July 31st 2021. Around 7:30pm he got a phone call from the hotel asking where we were. While there was no set check in time, we didn't think arriving after dinner would be a big deal. Well, he was told in a rude manner to hurry and check in because they were "waiting" for us and one other family. Fast forward to our arrival.... The outside is not well kept and is rather run down looking. Upon entering the "lobby" area, you are greeted by nobody and the stench of filth is overwhelming. I don't think the carpet had been vacuumed since the 80s. A man came out to check us in. No issues, it was quick. When we began our descent to our assigned room, it felt as though I was walking through an abandoned hotel awaiting an untimely death if you catch my drift....The brown and yellow walls are chipped and need lots of TLC. And again, the stink. Just awful. Now, the room. Immediately I spot several black hairs all over the tiles. The bathroom, I kid you not, had someone else toothpaste and spit al over the filthy sink. Shower had mold and hair. The bed had someone else's crumbs in it (and on the floor)! As soon as we dropped our bags we picked them back up and headed for the front desk to let them know what we found. A woman was there this time and when I tell you she was not interested in the least, that would be an understatement. We asked for a refund due to the unacceptable conditions of the entire lodge. We were told, "We will clean the room for you or offer you a room at our sister hotel-its a lot nicer than this one!". Ummm...no thank you. We are al set with both you and your sister thank you. So we did leave without the refund. We will be pursuing the refund through our credit card company. This a hotel that should be on the board of health's radar. Please don't ever stay here!…
This place is a dump and should be closed down. Main floor bathroom, no TP and looked like it had not cleaned. Room was gross, sheets smelled clean, well of bleach. Floors felts gritty. Pictures on the walls were missing, as you could see the nail holes and mark on the walls were pictures once were. The chair was so gross, dirty and stained, Fridge was unplugged. TV was about 12 inches. Bathroom was outdated and the shower/tub had worn marks (black) on the bottom of the tub. At the end of the hotel looked like the state was renting out rooms to crack heads. Outside trash, broken toilet, and looked like old restaurant equipment. Vending machines all empty. Continental breakfast?? Expired and mold food. Thankfully another guest warned me. I picked up "hot pockets" each one was covered with mold. Guest complained to the owner as he took the items off the counter and she yelled at him to put them back. He also said he was calling the board of health. I called the main Econolodge number and filed a complaint. Their response was contact the owners. Good luck with that, the chamber maid is the one who checked me in, since no one else was around, Thank goodness my stay was for only the night. Could not wait to get to my next destination - first thing was to take a shower. Do yourself a favor and drive by this dump!!!!…
I just stayed there for about 2 weeks, very recently, and what most these reviews say is very true, spent a lot of money to only be yelled at by the guy at desk for telling him that there was trash being thrown out by the door were go in and out also cigarette butts and trash all over the ground, they have no interest in raking and cleaning up the property and there are broken chairs and old sidings everywhere. the cans along the balcony are never cleaned out.. The pool area had bugs and trash , the pool was unheated very cold and not vacuumed. I had to buy a microwave, never heard of. Found a needle in my room . The TV had very little channels and some the volume didn't work and I was told I was complaining and go elsewhere if I didn't like it after spending 1000's , a needle in my room . He dare thinks he can yell at you for stuff like this. Oh and it's true the heater wasn't the best took awhile to heat up and very loud fan. I thought I was helping them out telling them that someone was throwing there trash and even there bath towels outside. We were suppose to put are trash outside of the door which I was never told and he tried to tell me only at a certain time . Now I know why someone was throwing there trash and bath towels outside, he must have angered someone. What has this world come to, yelling at you over nothing. Paid way to much to stay there and he tried to increase the price . Never heard of.…
This place is a dump. DISGUSTING!! The place just felt filthy. Sink was clogged up. Bathtub was dirty. Tools, wood, and construction stuff sitting around everywhere. The man at the front desk who I would assume to be the owner was a complete jerk. Walls are so thin you could hear EVERYTHING. Seemed like a local spot for drug users. I would never step foot in this place again. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY HERE!
Can’t chose what was the worst... The carpet throughout the hotel that hasn’t been vacuumed for months, the awful smell, broken furniture in the room, holes in the wall, amount of dirt and dust everywhere, wrinkled bedding, disgustingly dirty bathroom, sticky stuff on the floor, blood on the wall... you choose. Literally couldn’t stay here. Left and was still charged.
This is an older hotel which still needs some upgrades, but the location is nice and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. We were looking for a value room as we needed just one night and this was perfect. The adjacent restaurant was closed, but many good places within 1 mile.
