The hotel was very well maintained and the staff very friendly! The Freedom pass they offered was a great added bonus! It allowed us many different activities to enjoy during our stay. We were able to rent mountain bikes, take a chair lift to the top of the mountain to bike down. They had different types of boat rentals available...

Good Afternoon Thomas: Thank you for your positive feed back regarding the Lodge! As you can be sure, maintenance on such a large building is quite a task. Glad to hear you enjoyed the Freedom Pass. It does offer a wide variety of venues to take advantage of while you are here. Hope to host you again should you be...

Checked in and upon entering our room was very disappointed, very old, furniture with tears in it, mold in bathroom. Went to front desk to see if another unit was available and the woman at the front desk was extremely rude and unwilling to work with us. Finally after displaying much exasperation to us and other guests, she gave us...

This place is settled in a valley in the white mountains, and is surrounded by quaint and gorgeous lodges and resorts which match the quality that you get at black bear! There is a local Waterville town center which offers bike rental, kayak and paddle boat rental, chair lift to the top of the mountain, restaurants and great drinks! It...

Greetings: Thank you for taking the time to write a nice bit about our wonderful location and many activities! We do provide everything you might need (towels & bedding) but can't replace that 1 special pillow you are used to sleeping on. Our loft suites are very popular and we are pleased you were happy with the lay out of...

My family has stayed at Black Bear Lodge for MANY years, but this was the first time that we stayed in the Black Bear Suite. It is the only condo in the place that has two levels with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. It has AC on both floors (the lofts only have AC on the first floor) and...

Dear Lodge Guest: So happy to hear that the Black Bear suite worked out well for you and offered exactly what you needed during your recent stay. All of our Loft suites offer 2 levels but you are 100% correct when stating only a select few units have 2 AC's (most have just 1). The full size kitchens (in all...

I booked a stay at Black Bear Lodge using a Groupon. We are a family of five, several of us are over 6 feet tall. The room we stayed in (111) was on the lower level. Our patio was a grassy area off the back of the lodge facing woods. Loved that no one was behind us. Our room was...

I was told to go use a public restroom they...

Greetings Lucie C: So concerned to hear about your recent stay and all. This is very untypical of how we are used to operating and wish you could have had a more positive stay. Guest feed back is our lifeline and I do appreciate your comments. Please feel free to contact me directly regarding a future stay. Best,

The Black Bear Lodge has quickly become our favorite family fun spot in the White Mountains. The staff is friendly & helpful, the condos and grounds are comfortable & immaculate and there is no end to the fun activities the Lodge and Waterville Valley has to offer. One tip, definitely take advantage of the Freedom Pass!

Went with my family and had a blast. The passes that you get for being a guest are very fun! The 'lake' is a bit small so paddle boarding and kayaking are quick endeavours, but still a good time.
