Pros: The staff at Lakeview were exceptionally warm and welcoming, providing us with top notch hospitality and accommodation throughout the duration of our stay this past weekend. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were interested in upgrading our reservation from a room in the inn to a cottage. The staff was kind enough to show us the common areas and the lodging that was available for upgrade to help us make an informed decision. They also brought us extra towels, blankets, and surprised us with a lovely floral arrangement and bottle of champagne for our anniversary which was such a nice surprise extremely thoughtful. We enjoyed an incredible view of the fireworks from our panoramic porch overlooking the lake. It's location was extremely convenient to the main boardwalk and having an additional parking spot for visitors was an added perk. Cons: There were a few minor opportunities for improvement that we noticed. The beds could be cozier. A mattress topper and duvet cover could go a long way. The coffee / tea / pastry selection could be more diverse and higher quality. Real milk, cream, and healthy alternatives, more variety of coffee / tea options. The chocolate brownie pastries seemed homemade but not fully cooked / stuck to wax paper. The exposed pipes in the bathroom of the cottages get very hot when the water is running and are close to the toilet which is a little dangerous and could burn your guests so I would add some signage and some other layer of protection there. Overall: Great staff and service, great location, good accomodation, average amenities. Would come back again and excited to see what improvements are made in the future.

A group of 18 of us stayed at Lakeview, we stayed in the cozy inn,We really loved the wonderful old house ,with the beautiful antique furnishings. We had a dining room and living room and also a kitchen, we were able to cook our meals, hang out in living room and the rockers on porch was great to sit in and looking at the wonderful views of weirs beach and the lake .

Don't stay here if you are in any way mobility limited. To get to our cabin, we climbed rickety stairs and rocks. The location is fabulous as long as you are able to walk up and down a steep hill to the pier. The room and bathroom are tiny, and smell musty. Furnishings old and worn. But the AC was a champion on a very hot night, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, the pool and view are fantastic. The staff are lovely. So, for the young and fit not requiring luxury, this place is fine, but definitely not four stars.

I first have to comment on the one negative recent review and say that as a return customer for years I feel that most of the negativity is just not true. First, I never, ever hear traffic or motorcycles all night long. Second, bathrooms are very clean, some may be dated but definitely not gross or unclean. Rips in screens, etc. are part of New England weather getting the best of some areas but nothing that I found noticeable. In my opinion this place is immaculate! I have stayed in the cabins and yes, they are more dated than the actual Inn but again clean, clean, clean. The breakfast is a very nice, appreciated addition as well as the coffee. Yes you do need to climb a hill so if you are not physically able to do so, then you probably should not. But I would not say hard for elderly! If you are fit and don't mind a bit of a walk up hill, talking 2 minutes, then you should try this place out for sure mo matter how old or young you are! I would 100% recommend Lakeview House and Cottages. I have and have had friends stay and love it as well. It is charming, clean, owners and staff are the nicest you will ever meet and the views are amazing!

We stayed here recently (family of 6). The house looked a little tired from the outside but we had a warm welcome. The staff were cheerful and helpful throughout our one night stay. We had the captain's suite which was very clean and tidy and well-equipped and there was an endless supply of towels. There was a great view of the lake from the windows. We were impressed by the breakfast ( coffee and homemade muffins)- simple but we had not expected this included in the price. We would return!
