This place could be a gem but lack of management really affects the overall experience. The rooms are average and equipped with a good sized fridge and also a microwave. The pillows are awful. If you enjoy a firm pillow, I suggest you bring your own. The grounds are well kept though there is not nearly enough seating down on...

We reserved a king room with jacquzzi for Sun - Thurs of Columbus Day week. We needed to move our stay up by one day. When I finally received a reply that it would be done and confirmation would be sent by email there was no mentioned that we would be switched to a different room. Reservations were for same...

We were passing through on our way to Boston and happened to see this motel. We consider ourselves very lucky that they had a cancellation that day for cottage 12 as it was Columbus weekend. The cottage was lovely and had everything that we needed for our two day stay. The views were fantastic and we were lucky enough to...

I stopped by for an overnight but loved the place so much I stayed 2 more days. very relaxing. The screened in porch was delightful. The 2 burner stove top and micro was all I needed to cook up breakfast and enjoy the free coffee. The rooms were very clean and updated and service was great. A scenic view from...

We got settled in and went down to the deck...again very clean, and extremely relaxing. Checkout was at 10:30 the next morning and the same NICE gentleman was there to check us out...

The Lord Hampshire is a great place to stay. I only stayed one night but I would liked to have stayed longer. This hotel is right on the lake. The room I had was on the second floor overlooking the lake. There is a screened in porch attached to the room with a table and chairs, beautiful scenery. The room...

I have stayed at the Lord Hampshire many times and will continue to do so. The Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and well maintained. The hotel and cottages are on a lovely spot on Lake Winnisquam, with Loons and other wildlife in abundance. All in all my friends, my family and myself have...

There are two sets of rules at the LH; one for owners, and one for the suckers who stay there when owners are away. Strict rules for "renters" no pets/smoking (which I was happy about), but many owners had dogs, plus we had to close our sliding door because of smoke wafting in. We were just looking for a couple...

“Tips: Though you only see two levels in the motel wing, there's actually a third level. The wing is built into a steep slope facing the lake, and the lowest level includes units, as well. I think most of them are owner-occupied condos. I don't know if they rent rooms down there. The middle floor (at street level, when you pull into the parking lot) seems to be the best soundproofed, though the upper floor may have better views. For convenience and quiet, we liked that middle floor. Each room is uniquely decorated, so if you aren't delighted with your room, ask to see another one. They range from vintage New England charm to lakeside modern and stylish. There's something for every taste.”
