Got a site at the last minute for the busy July 4th weekend so appreciated getting a spot for tent camping. Staff was nice, accommodating, responsive and helpful. The sites are tight together (they pack a lot of sites in there) but there were lots of trees and such which created some privacy. Overall a really nice experience. Great for tents to have water and electric hookup as the tent sites are really all RV spots that also can be used for tents. Campsite is close to a Walmart and Shoprite which is great for getting supplies. Place has a camp store also.

Some of the staff was very friendly, some were rude. We had to wait to check it bc they kept taking phone calls while we were standing there to check in. I was told I had a credit on my account and I would get refunded when I left. When we went to check out I was told that credit would stay on my account for a future visit. So now I lose my money if I don’t stay there again? What sense is that? Very small water tanks for showers in the cabins and the water does smell bad. Mosquitoes were bad, not sure if they get sprayed for them. No hours posted for the pool. Plus the pool was very small. The pool was always crowded and there was never any space for you to have a spot. The camp store is very small. Not much to do at this place. You had to have your campfire out by 11:30. We had to clean the cabin we stayed at before we left or we would get charged a cleaning fee. The only positive note was it was quiet and peaceful, however I have stayed at better camp grounds.

Cars and golf carts drive way too fast on this campground! Staff is not very friendly. Some bathrooms were closed. Our friend rented a deluxe cabin...the oven didn't work, no propane and dirty socks were found from other people. Spots are tight....not pur favorite place.

The staff was not friendly and upon entering there were loads of golf carts and kids not watching where they were riding bikes (veering into the middle of the road into oncoming cars, etc.). Everyone is right on top of each other and the campsites, RV sites and cabins are all mixed in together which we did not expect. We rented an Ultra Deluxe cabin and it was NOT deluxe. The AC did not work so they put 2 box fans in the bedroom and loft rooms to use and a small window unit in the living area to essentially cool the whole cabin. The lamp in the living area had a broken switch leaving the lamp useless. Then every single time we tried to use the stove top, oven or even the toaster the fire alarms went off (every time). They placed an alarm right near the stove so any heat triggered it. The drain in the bathroom was backed up and we had to have someone fix it (which he did) but he barely said two words to us (pretty rude). However, a couple days later it started backing up again (and this time we didn't bother calling for help, we just sucked it up). The power went out during a rain storm and oh we lost water b/c an RV parking their vehicle ran over a water line so the sites water main had to be turned off for repair. The shower is impossibly small and even someone who is 5'3 had trouble showering properly. They had a laundry facility but every time we went to use it the place was closed so we had to use a laundromat to wash our towels, etc. during the week. I attached some pics of other little things that are not Deluxe about the cabin we stayed in. There was a band-aid placed over a light switch that was for a water heater used as a deterrent not to touch it, There were cracked lamp shades, a chipped blind that gave this place a dingy feeling. This place was centrally located to places we wanted to go so that was about the best thing about it. I guess if you have your own RV or are a tent camper you might like it here and this is your thing but it definitely isn't right for a family expecting a nice cabin experience.

We called prior to the vacation to discuss the amenities and what appliances were in the actual cabins, We emphasized that we needed refrigeration for food and refrigerated medication. We arrived to the cabin and unloaded groceries that we bought from the local supermarket and went out to see Cape May, upon returning we opened Chicken to grill and noticed it was rancid, of course the refrigerator was broken and all the food needed to be discarded ( 200$ worth) We called the office and reported the issue they sent a maintenance staff two and half hours later who said we had to much food in the refrigerator he was extremely rude and could honestly care less. The next day I went to the office to ask about a new refrigerator the staff at the office was rude but did send staff promptly to replaced a refrigerator the staff openly criticized the staff who we called and the other maintenance staff stating there both a-holes, they did comp us a golf cart which was fair and for the hassle was apricated . The new refrigerator was broken as well, we ate a bunch of chips for dinner that night and eat out the rest of the trip which honestly when your camping you want to grill and experience the nature exp. Quiet hours are 11:30p a little early for me when I'm on vacation and don't have to get up for work. The other negative was we went inside to use the bathroom literally left the camp fire for 3 minutes... A staff came by on a golf cart and dumped a bucket of water on the newly lit fire which dampened the evening to say the least. This was honestly ridiculous the staff had a major attitude and was looking for confrontation. This camp site is strictly for owners who utilize the cabins they select and purchase to stay from April to November. This was a terrible experience for us and we would never go back. They have a nature trail but it closes at 8pm so you can't even go and take a walk to the lake, this is needed because the cabins and campsites are on top of each other and there is no privacy
If you go with a group of friends and rent a bunch of cabins it might be ok but if your looking for a fun getaway pay the extra money and stay in Cape May

We come here just about every year. They are always fixing it up and we make sure to come right before they make it on season so prices aren’t too high.
This year was the first time we noticed there were termites on the deck though and the DVD player didn’t work, which was a bummer. But the trailer itself that we stayed at was beautiful! Our favorite by far. We could have easily asked for help with the DVD player too and gotten it fixed but hooked up the switch instead so that isn’t really on them. It always worked every other year.
The pool is great and heated and they have a hot tub. The park gets better every year which Is great with our growing children. And this campground is literally 5-15 minutes away from all the boardwalks, food, and shopping necessities.
I used to go to beachcomber growing up but switched to hear 11 years ago and never looked back. CHECK IT OUT!!
It’s not a five star resort, ITS A CAMPGROUND. So if you’re coming here looking for the most luxurious service go stay at the grand hotel by the board walk.

I rented a spot for the summer of 2021. There is no lake the website is deceptive, The lake in the deep woods does not belong to Sunout doors Cape May Camp ground. Kids would poop in the pool and by nj law the pool should be shut down for 24 hours and it was not, may be an hour. no game room for the kids, no shuffle board, management was rude , you can hear him yelling at the staff in front of guest. You the camper had to bring your garbage to the dumpster. They charged electric not telling you the meter reading for an accurate billing. the manager would cook funnel cakes and leave old oil outside to reuse. not a place I would return too. I give it a minus rating

Hello Ken, first let me thank you for your review. Although we always strive for 5 stars, it is important to us to receive all feedback so we can continue to improve our guests’ experiences. I wanted to first note that I believe you meant to report that you visited us in 2022, not 2021. I remember very clearly our multiple interactions while I personally assisted you with all of your questions and inquiries prior to booking your seasonal stay. In fact, you visited the park for a tour and to see your site location so your report that our map is deceiving is troublesome. It clearly marks our property and surrounding areas which you saw. As for your other comments and concerns, I am very disturbed and only wish that you had taken an opportunity during your daily visits to the welcome center to pick up your packages and mail to speak with me so I could address your issues and take any needed corrective actions. In addition, your site was only a few short steps away from my office and the pool. As some of your comments seem rather serious, I like to think you would have taken action immediately by asking to speak with me. I invite you to reach out at your convenience so I can fully understand your reports and clarify as needed. I can be reached at 609-886-1234 ext. 1 or info.cmy@bw.sunoutdoors.com. Sincerely, Christine Salerno, General Manager

The management and some of the office staff were some of the rudest, nastiest people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. We should have been told that tickets for the pool were going to be given out like golden tickets and if you did not know, you were out of luck. The campground nickel and dimes you for every single thing, the rules are ridiculous and the managers are just outright miserable and nasty. They should take a course on how to treat customers. I completely understand the Covid-19 restriction but how they spoke to the customers is inexcusable. I will never visit Holly Shores again and I will certainly tell everyone I know to go somewhere else as well.

The WIFI service is terrible. You can't stream TV or movies for any length of time. Buffering starts the minute you start watching a show. Within minutes, you lose signal and get the "no internet notification". Logging back in to their FREE internet takes about ten minutes and the process starts all over again. Forget using email, Facebook or streaming video games without losing signal. If you trade stocks or work remotely, you will be disappointed. This has been an issue since the campground opened in April. Many transient campers and seasonal campers have complained. There doesn't seem to be a solution in the works.
Other than the WIFI issues, it is a well managed clean campground.

Thank you for your feedback as we find it important to follow up on issues so we can always make improvements. We understand your frustration with the WIFI and in fact, DO have an action plan in place to make a significant upgrade to our campground guest WIFI infrastructure. As I am sure you can understand, a project of this magnitude has several moving parts and we are challenged by doing this type of work within the constrains of our operating season in an effort not to disrupt the camping experience of ALL of our guests if possible. We know as a seasonal camper, you may spend more time here and therefore may rely on WIFI more regularly than our transient guests and look forward to making this change to accommodate everyone as soon as possible. We are sorry this carries such a heavy weight on your decision to only award us two stars but are happy that you find us to be clean and well managed.

First time renting a cabin and we love it, we are planning to come back again next year.
All the facilities was clean and the employees was very helpful on everything, my boys was riding bike all day around the camping, we enjoy the pool time unfortunately with COVID we need to make reservations for 1 hour but was ok I totally understand.
We enjoy the lake that is not in the campground but we ride bike on a natural path everyday
I highly recommend this place

A large majority are shaded. We usually are in the "H" section. It is family owned, friendly and we have stayed several times. I am sure if you tell them what you are looking for, they will do their best to accommodate. The have a very nice dog park & pool. Bathhouses are also very clean.
