Checked in thursday june 12th and out sat june 14th--never met or introduced to this wonderful Rita other reviewers seem to be raving about. In fact, our first breakfast at Captain mey's on friday morning we were "met" by a pair of rather sullen and moody employees who did nothing to enhance our B&B experience! Other than its location, this...

Me and my sister stayed at captain meys in July 2014. We stayed in William of orange (I believe), on the 3rd floor. Great size bathroom, super comfortable bed! The shower head didn't have super hard pressure, but it was doable. It's an awesome location, being only a couple blocks from the beach and also right behind Washington st. Mall!...

We stayed in July of 2014 and had a wonderful time! The Captain Mey's B&B is in such an excellent location in Cape May, New Jersey... close to great shopping and restaurants. We were right in the middle of everything. The staff were there if we needed them but gave us all the privacy we needed. Sitting on the wrap-around...

We absolutely love this Inn and the innkeeper, Rita. We have stayed in many places throughout the years, and no where else has made us feel so at home and so welcomed!! If you are looking for a real Victorian experience in Cape May with reasonable prices, check here first!

there is always room at the inn because rita does not require 2-3 night minimum in high season or any season. she has been there 2 out of 3 times we stayed but there is always someone there to accommodate. so what if the breakfast is continental. if you want full serve then you're gonna have to pay for it....

We stayed at Captain Mey's over the 4th of July holiday weekend. It was our first time coming to this particular inn although we have visited Cape May numerous times. Overall our experience was great. I think this inn offers great value given how overpriced Cape May can be during the summer. Our room although very small (Peter Stuyvesant) was...

When we arrived (couple) we were told by a housekeeper to call to check in. The number we tried did not answer. So we waited a bit and tried again. No answer. We went back to talk to the housekeeper who asked if we'd tried the number and then gave us a key after we told no one was answering...

First the good - nice rooms, great location Never saw the innkeeper or she never introduced herself. Number on the door for "self check in" but nobody answered. A cleaning girl finally got me the key to the room. Breakfast was stale bagels without toppings, box mix muffins and a bowl of bananas. Atrocious compared to what the other inn's...

the location can't be beat, and the porch is wonderful, so there was something for everyone to do! there was almost NO interaction with the inn keepers, so it lacked in the B&B experience, which i missed. the room was small, but certainly sufficient.

We stayed here last summer (2013) (my intention was to write this review sooner but I didn't.) and we loved it. It is a great place to stay. It is very close to Washington Square and the beach. It also has off street parking which is great since parking is tough at this time of year. The room was comfortable...

“Owner was very nice once she let us in. We stood on the porch with our bags in 90+ degree weather for 10 minutes watching her through the window speaking to another guest while she looked at us and held up her index finger gesturing to us to wait for her. When the other guest finally saw we were hot and getting impatient, they finally told the owner to let us in. She was very nice and explained about the B & B and took us to our room. That was the last we ever saw of her. The AC in the room was insuficient and there were 2 winter blankets on the bed. No light weight blankets. The sheets on our queen bed were pilled and sooo uncomfortable on my skin. The "fitted" sheet came off on both sides within 10 minutes of getting into bed so we were sleeping on scratchy pilled crinkled up sheets...basically sleeping half on the sheet pile and half on the waterproof mattress cover. The pillows were so overstuffed and hard that they were useless...unless you wanted to commit to a stiff neck for 4 days. And did I mention how hot it was?!? My final complaint was the breakfast. A plate of bagels, english muffins and a bowl of hard boiled eggs left on the table with no "staff" anywhere in sight. Seriously?!? I have never stayed in a B&B that didn't make you a really nice cooked breakfast. It was way worse than any chain hotel's cont. breakfast. Did I really pay $160 for this? I recommend you stay at a Holiday Inn Express over the Captain Mey's B&B anytime.”
