My husband and I were looking forward to a long weekend away and picking Cape May and staying at the Mainstay Inn and Cottage Halloween weekend was just what we needed! We stayed in the Harte Room in the Cottage and needless to say it was heaven! What was great was our room had its own private porch complete with...

Cape May is famous for delightfully varied examples of Victorian era architecture. Many are B&Bs, which is perfect for those wanting a mere taste of life within the walls of these enchanting old houses. You won't go wrong choosing to book at Mainstay Inn and Cottage. Inside and out, this dual-residence establishment delivers aesthetic and practical pleasure throughout one's stay....

Beautiful old Victorian meticulously maintained in Victorian style. Very comfortable, well located in Cape May, close to restaurants, shops and many other Cape May Victorians. You can spend hours walking and enjoying this quaint town. The Innkeepers were terrific, make you feel at home, and the breakfasts were delicious. We really enjoyed ourselves there and would definitely go back.

Stay here 2X/year and am never disappointed. Innkeeper Diane is a wonderful and helpful person who has worked at the Inn for 27 years and is a born resident of Cape May. Owner Pete was here this week and is investing in structural improvements and maintaining the Inn and Cottage. Left my sunglasses on bench and asked if anyone had...

I can't believe this inn isn't higher in the ratings. We've stayed at a number of B&B's with higher ratings on Trip Advisor, and the Mainstay is hands down the best! You can't beat sitting on the verandah and watching the trolley tours and horse carriages go by, pointing out the Inn as one of the top attractions in Cape...

We had a great time at the Mainstay, it is centrally located to the beach and easy to just walk everywhere. The home is kept up very nicely and is very clean, I would definitely go back again. I did like the large veranda that wraps around the house, and the food was good.

Breakfast was just ok. Nothing spectacular. Stayed at several places that were less expensive and had better offerings. The shower emitted a high pitched squeal when you turn it on. Floors were creaky. The staff was excellent, but that's not enough to make me want to come again.

My wife and I stay here every December for a few days. We have stayed in alot of B & Bs all over the East Coast but this is definitely our all time favorite. Also the owners we have met a few times and they are so very nice :):)

What a very laid back weekend. First time to come home from a vacation and feel relaxed. The women that work here are so welcoming, pleasant and social, without infringing. Breakfast is De-Lish-Us! Love how you can walk through the floor to ceiling window and eat out on the veranda, the weather was perfect for that. Reading out on the...

What a wonderful B& B.....a stately Victorian with marvelous accommodations and wonderful afternoon tea, morning breakfasts. Our room accommodated three friends with a king bed and very comfortable pull out sofa. Friendly staff and great food. Situated close to town and the beach, but very quiet.
