I chose this hotel because it was approximately $50 cheaper per night than staying across the street from the Courtyard.

First, let me address the potholes. It's a very small patch of the street once you turn off the main road. It's bumpy but lasts about 10 seconds driving slowly.

I arrived before 3pm, and they were able to check me in early. I was given room 225 which is at the back of the hotel. Try to avoid rooms at the back of the hotel because people tend to congregate back there to have conversations, so not the quietest being on the second floor. I wiped all the counters, and tables down with Clorox wipes, and the area was relatively clean. The kitchen area was stocked with plates, cutlery, glasses, and all the basics you need, as well as a mini keurig type machine complete with coffee/tea, etc.

While the room was relatively clean, you can tell by the pictures that it's quite dated (peeling paint, cracks, scratched and stained furniture), and in need of a complete renovation.

I could ALMOST overlook the above, but when I checked in there were two small patches of hair on the rug. The next morning I stopped at the front desk, and requested housekeeping, and told the clerk the issue, and where to find the hair. I returned later in the day, and while housekeeping had clearly come, the hair was still there. It was there during my entire stay. Additionally, there was at least one stray hair in every set of fresh towels I received. On my 4th night, I had to call downstairs because the people across the hall had propped their door open for the second day, and were incredibly loud. I initially gave them the incorrect room number, but when I did provide the correct number, I was informed that no one was staying in that room. I told the front desk that clearly someone was in that room because they were right across from me, and rather loud. They said they would call the room. Two hours later, still loud, and I just gave up and put in my earbuds.

They serve "continental breakfast" every morning which is four types of cereals in glass jars, apples/oranges, and a yogurt "bar". I was hoping for some type of baked goods. They also have a happy hour between 5-7 pm where they serve beer, wine, and light appetizers, but I didn't check it out because it didn't look very inviting.

While this hotel is billed as an extended stay hotel, they really should keep extended stay guests separate from regular business travelers. I just wanted a place to unwind after a day in the office, and this place wasn't it.

Another concern I had was I checked out rather early (6am), and went to the front desk to hand in my cardkey. The attendant said to just toss it in the box labeled keys on the desk. While I did, I also mentioned my concern about just tossing keys in a box that anyone could just grab if the front desk was left unattended.

Suffice it to say, I'm going back to The Courtyard Ewing Princeton going forward. While I know we have clocks on our phones, it would've been nice to have a clock in the room.

Positives:
* Fast check-in, and they honored my Marriott status with membership welcome gifts
* Fast check-out by Nora
* Convenient parking
* Responsive team in handling issues
* Excellent breakfast with hot and fresh foods
* Cozy room layout and lobby area
* Quiet
* Comfortable bed
* Good room temperature
* Good shower pressure and temperature though I still preferred a tab higher

Negatives:
* Bed sheets have hairs on them. No doubt they washed and cleaned them, but there were still hairs on them. I raised this, they offered to change room, I asked to check, and it was even worst with hairs hidden under pillows than the first room. The hotel said there wasn't much they could do. Other hotels don't seem to have this issue though. I asked them to give me another flat sheet and fitted sheet to put it on top of the dirty one for the night, since only staying one night. This came across as dirty and unclean, especially from health and sanitization perspective.

Other:
* This is near a regional airport, but it's not noisy.

If I am in the area and they can fix the hairs on bed sheet issues, I would feel comfortable staying there. again.

I’m in an extended stay studio with a range. There are no pots and pans, no paper towels, no sponge for dishes or dish towels for that matter . Hot water took over 5 min to get warm, internet is spotty at best and can’t quite get a solid signal to even hook up my Lap top. I wonder also if the 5g stuff around airports is causing my cell to be interrupted as well meaning I’m fairly internet-less. So very aggravating in this day and age. I’ve contacted the front desk about the pots n pans and they hope to grab them from another room since there aren’t enough to go around and bring them in the morning. I asked about a bottle opener and haven’t received that at 10:30 pm either. Room looks great, not as functional as it should be.

We stayed some years ago when it had an open pool, awesome happy hours and lovely well kept rooms.
The only thing left is the friendly staff. They are left to deal with unhappy guests. The welfare guests are quiet and polite. The Element once it started catering to the big bucks government pays them to have welfare guests. just stopped doing any maintenance at all. Pool has been closed for a number of years and the exercise area frequently has equipment not working, ceiling leaks, and the A/C is hit or miss. Mostly, miss. I had to fix our own because the room was HOT during our stay. Appliances are quite beat up, dented and barely working. The linens and towels are not sparkling white by a long shot.
You can do much better almost anywhere—- unless you like short stay hotels.

My stay at the Element Hotel- Ewing Princeton ran from May ‘22 to July ‘22, then again from July ‘23 until the present. Over that time, I feel that I have a good perspective on this extended stay hotel. The hotel is somewhat isolated without private transportation, but with close proximity to Trenton Mercer Airport and Interstate 295 and Interstate 95S. Like hotels of its vintage, the hotel is challenged with some maintenance issues, e.g., A/C in certain rooms, occasional elevator issues, closed swimming pool, etc. However, the maintenance staff, front desk, housekeeping and management (Kassidy) are very accommodating and responsive to individual inconveniences. This has been extremely appreciated during my extended stay. The atmosphere has been very welcoming. The hotel goes to some length with amenities such as complimentary breakfast w/egg station, daily complimentary Happy Hour 5-7 PM with hors d’oeuvres, hot chocolate bar in season, 24 hour coffee/tea, complimentary cookies and welcome bags at the front desk, etc. Additionally, usual amenities like complimentary computer/printing access, laundry, fitness center, WiFi w/streaming channels are available. I would be a repeat customer in the future, if the occasion arose.

I felt unsafe during my entire stay. I could not let my 17 year old walk around unaccompanied.
I booked a one bedroom suite and was given a regular room, I was told that there were no suites left, but they refused to give me credit for the smaller room ( a quick look on the hotel website reveals that the non-suite room is at least $20 less per night). The manager was no help and seemed to be completely inept or just apathetic to the whole situation. Breakfast offering was disgusting with no coffee or tea available, plan on going out for breakfast, as the kitchen in the room has almost no necessities such as plates,glasses,mugs,utensils,etc. Our room door was had to be pushed with my shoulder to open or close ( my 17 year old could not open or close it without my help, seems like a fire hazard). Terrible water pressure with no hot water. Filthy hallways that smelled dirty and moldy along with the constant smell of cigarette and marijuana smoke. We would have gone to another hotel but we were there for an event and all others hotels in the area were booked. For $180 per night I expected a decent hotel but this place is horrible. Avoid this hotel!

The first room I went to was very dirty. It was footprints in the toe that was very noticeable. I asked to be switched to a different room same problem very dirty. Very disgusting mildew smell. The next room I asked to be switched to. I pulled back the sheets and Ifound bedbug. I no longer wanted to stay at this hotel. It was very disappointing to me because I had a very rough day and is added onto the stress. So I asked for my money back, which was giving me the same they gave me a refund an issue because they kinda refused to give me back a refund, this was very terrible. I would never recommend anybody to go to this hotel.

I have given this hotel three chances. This was my final attempt. The following issues are from my most recent stay. First, we found leftover raw chicken in the refrigerator from the previous guest. While this is not the worst thing ever, it makes you wonder how well the room was cleaned if that was missed. After we were in the room a few minutes, we noticed a stink bug crawling on the wall. We disposed of it and then noticed several more crawling on the ceiling above the beds.

I called the front desk and was told to come down and they would give us a new room. Upon, moving our stuff to the new room, we immediately realized we were given a room with one bed and no sofa bed. We went back to the front desk. The clerk was confused and said those were the only rooms they had. Eventually, another employee showed up and was able to move us into an appropriate room. The first employee had accidentally moved us to a handicap accessible room. Apparently, that room type does not have sofa beds. The third room was fine.

We travel to this area a lot. While this hotel is one of the most reasonably priced in the area, I will not risk staying here again.

Had a reservation to take a trip for new years and to just get out of the city. Unfortunately the wife and I came down with covid something horrible. Ended up in the ER. Called to cancel booking, explained to the manager that both the wife and I were extremely ill with COVID, hotel manager refused to provide refund, told me to either come stay anyways or forfeit my $500 I paid for the room. They didn't care about my situation and invited me to still come stay and cough all over there staff and guests... this place is horrific. Avoid at all costs, infact go read other reviews about how Horrible and dirty this place is. Wish I had, could have avoided dealing with these disgusting people and not lost any money.

Customer service and hospitality was really excellent, they went over and beyond to make the stay enjoyable. The hotel set up complimentary snacks and drinks one night during our stay, which was such a pleasant surprise. The manager frequently checked in with us during the complimentary breakfast to make sure we were taken care of. I would highly recommend staying here.

I would call the Element and ask if any airport limo's come there at later hours; you might also try calling the limo to find their hours of service.
