The hotel lobby and room (carpet, paint mostly) look updated and more modern, but as another reviewer said, as soon as you get on the elevator to you know the hotel hasn’t been kept up completely. The bathroom was in pretty good shape with a bath fitter remodel somewhat recently it seemed, but all the furniture needs to be replaced, including the sagging in the middle bed. AC and heat worked well and was responsive and the fridge was fine, but there was a small plasma TV that had to be pulled out from the desk to be seen from the bed. It took me a bit to realize the tv offered Netflix and YouTube sign-ins so that helped since the wifi wasn’t working (apparently it happened for some last month as well). The front desk was friendly about the issue but also seemed to play dumb that it was a new problem (that they had no idea how to fix) despite other reviews saying the same thing last month. I stayed two nights and late into the first night it suddenly worked and it stayed functional through my stay. Also, not a usb outlet anywhere in the room. Overall it was a very mediocre stay and I’d suggest the sister SPRINGHILL suites hotel as I stayed there previously a few years ago and felt it was better than this location.

A relative and I stayed for one night while in town to take care of some family business.
The lobby is lovely and makes a good impression at check-in. However, the quality immediately goes downhill as soon as you get on the elevator. The rest of the property is in need of an upgrade. But our room was clean and comfortable.
The worst part of our stay was that the wifi was not connecting. I spent almost an hour trying to get connected because I had to do some work, and was not able to get connected the whole time I was there. Since it was after hours, there was no help to be had. The next morning, the front desk associate said that they’d been having trouble for several days. If I had known that, I wouldn’t have booked it. They did offer me some additional points for the trouble, which was appreciated.
The high point of our stay was breakfast at the bistro (it’s not free- ran nearly $50 for two of us.) The associates who helped us were Pam and Daniel and their service was top-notch. They’re both so friendly and welcoming that they make you feel like they’re actually happy to be helping you. That is rare these days. Big thanks to Pam and Daniel!!

I have been staying at Marriott hotels for nearly 40 years. I am one of the first rewards member.
We were booked and stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. For four of those nights we could not get the TV to turn off by the remote or the buttons on the TV. The only way to turn it off was by unplugging it. We reported it twice they sent someone to “fix” it once but still the only way to turn it off was to unplug it. The problem is clearly the tv am not the remote since all other functions on the remote worked and the tv would not turn off by the remote, tv, or phone app. Very frustrating and annoying to have to unplug it every night and plug it back in every morning.
While I don’t need my room cleaned daily this is the first hotel I’ve stayed in since the Pandemic that doesn’t at least clean the room after the third night. We ended up having to empty the overflowing trash ourselves. Yes I know we could have requested it but we shouldn’t have to. At the very least the room should be checked for trash once in a while. The light over the microwave and fridge did not work. A power outlet next to the bed appeared to be hastily and sloppily installed.
The staff we encountered we very friendly. The room itself was clean. The carpet appeared to be recently updated. Bathroom was clean but somewhat dated with broken tiles in the shower. The beds were comfortable which frankly was the main reason we didn’t check out after the second or third night.
In conclusion, a simple quality check in between check-ins could avoid most of the issues we experienced. Especially things like empty dispensers and non working lights. Whoever installed the power outlet next to the bed should not have been paid.
My rating is based on the lack of attention to the little things which caused frustration and inconvenience during our stay.

Quiet, clean, Large nice modern lobby area for eating, Large quiet public lounge area with foot rests in front of TV. I didn’t get up early enough to have the complimentary breakfast. Bed was comfy, room was very clean, furniture in good condition, but bathroom needed to be refreshed. Shower rod was rusted, ceiling needed a refresher paint, tile above bathtub was black - desperately needed to be re-cauked. I don’t like spending $300/night on a room that doesn’t have updated bathroom. Also not thrilled with the refillable shower wall shampoo/soaps. Though convenient to pump, I prefer individual sealed shampoo in public hotels. Immediate vicinity food choices were not great. Located in a shabby shopping center under a giant ?phone tower. It’s worth it to drive 10 minutes away to US-1 for other choices

LIKES: Comfortable bed Quiet Reasonable food in "restaurant"
DISLIKES: Carpet on 5th floor (see photos) in desperate need of cleaning Painfully slow elevators Poor room lighting Erratic hot water Towels akin to 150 grit sandpaper
SUMMARY: This was a bit of a disappointment, considering the room rate. No excuses for the carpeting, but it also goes along with some outdated furnishings in the rooms that have seen better days. Two days later, I stayed on the 45th floor of another hotel in Niagara and it took the same time to get to that floor as it did to get to the 5th floor in this Marriott.
So while there were a few things to like here, there's definitely some work to be done.

Stayed here with my family while visiting Sesame Place. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, the refrigerator is so helpful when traveling with kids. Lots of free parking and it's only 15 minutes from Sesame Place which was convenient. The tvs can stream Amazon and Netflix which was a huge plus with a very tired toddler who wanted to watch her shows. The pool was a nice temperature but the hot tub was a bit on the cooler side-I did have a two year old with me so any time spent in there relaxing wasn't going to happen anyway. They had a crib available which was great. The only issue we had was with the dining in the lobby. We went down to eat dinner and there was only one person working the bar AND the kitchen so the full time we waited to order until our last dish came was over 1.5 hours. The man who was doing it all was so nice and it was not his fault that he was left with no help and the food was good. But if you are traveling with kids and thought the restaurant in the hotel would be easy and convenient, you might want to have a backup plan before your hungry kids start to lose it. It would be great if they had some complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby since you cannot really get a coffee you pay for quickly and that little room coffee maker just doesn't cut it! There's also not a lot around unless you head back to the Sesame Place area (as far as I could tell). Other than that it was a good stay for us.

We stayed at Courtyard Ewing Princeton over the weekend. We are Marriott Gold members and have stayed at Marriott properties all over the country and internationally.
This Courtyard needs more than a little TLC. I suspect that the pandemic affected maintenance on the property, but the guest rooms and bathrooms are in desperate need of attention.
Our bathroom smelled musty and we had to purchase air fresheners to cover the smell. The bathroom was old, dark and dingy, with no ventilation or exhaust fan, the tub/shower faucet was broken and had to be repaired 2x while we were there. The tv remote didn't work. The carpet had sticky stains on it.
Housekeeping is by appointment only, so unless you request it, your room won't be cleaned. This was ok with us, but we had never experienced this policy at a Marriott before. Again, possibly due to the pandemic.
The property is next to the Trenton airport, which did not appear to have a lot of activity going on. We didn't see one plane take off or land the whole time we stayed.
Food service is available for purchase, but only at certain times of the day. No complimentary tea, coffee or water, unless you make it in your room, which was a disappointment. There is a small convenience shop for snacks and essentials open 24 hours a day.
There isn't much to do in the area, and if you are looking for restaurants in the area, there isn't much variety. A hoagie shop, a pizza place or two, and one sit down restaurant we tried called Metro. Granted, this is something we should have researched beforehand.
On the plus side, we used points for the room, and the staff was very kind and attentive. Both times we asked for someone to fix the shower, and look at our tv/phone which weren't working properly, they responded quickly and professionally. The manager was very personable and accommodating. I don't blame the staff for the condition of the hotel. But corporate really needs to take better care of this property
So my overall rating is facilities - 1, staff - 5.

Friendly, helpful, accommodating - everything executed with a genuine, kind smile. ALL staff. I was so impressed with the positive energy. They have a Bistro downstairs if you don't feel like ordering out or going out for food. No room service. Clean. Covid policy - you have to request your room cleaned. I was good with just having them deliver materials, exchange towels, and take garbage - requests that they responded to immediately. Close (6 minutes) to TCNJ. Great week!

I cannot thank Michele enough for setting up and managing our room block for our wedding guests. Michele made sure that we had a great price and more than enough rooms for the ever changing number of guests at our wedding. While my wife and I were staying at the Woolverton Inn, most of our families were at the Courtyard and we really wanted to make sure they had a professional and personal experience and well that is exactly what they had! Michele and her staff made sure each guest had everything they needed, help navigate the complexities of the shuttle services and when potential catastrophes could have occurred, averted them with ease. There is something so amazing about working with someone that anticipates issues that may arise and has solutions in hand - and that is exactly what Michele delivers. If you need a guest room block in the area, you simply cannot get better value or a more hassle free experience - don't overthink it, go with Michele and the Courtyard!

I have been traveling full time for work for almost 5 months, staying in hotels daily in NY, NJ and PA. Every hotel I have been I was treated respectfully, cordially and even been upgraded to better rooms. However here in Ewing I was received by Britney. Extremely rude from the beginning, I had my reservation, confirmation number for my reservation made by my company. She said she needed written authorization scanned or faxed to the hotel by my office manager about th credit card used. This is on a Sunday so I know everyone wont be in the office to fill out and faxed the documents. To all this she just said well even though there is a reservation paid because I dont have those documents you have to pay again. I had to make a lot of calls to everyone so someone could fill out her form so I was able to stay in the hotel without paying twice. First time I have this situation. Every time it has been enough with my name, ID and confirmation number. To all this she kept helping other people and I had to wait sitting in the lobby area for almost an hour. I received a text from my boss saying that they emailed the form to Britney so I asked her again if she got it, she said no and to keep waiting. Finally 20 mins later she said she got it and gave me the key. Of course she gave me the room where the outlets were not working so I had to charge my phone in the bathroom outlet. I am so disappointed because in all my years traveling and staying in Courtyard Marriotts this is the first time that I felt terrible. Britney was so nasty, she should be fired because she doesnt have idea what customer service is. She even told one of the people that checked in that the day was very slow but when I asked here to call my boss to confirm the credit card she said she was too busy to do that. For only one person from now on every time I go to a Courtyard Marriott I will remember Britney and how rude she was.

Dear Evgscarsdale, Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay. I apologize for the experience you encountered. When a reservation is made, a credit card is required to guarantee the reservation. This credit card entered at the time of the reservation doe not prepay for the reservation and a valid credit card is required upon check in for the security of the cardholder. There are cases, where prepaid reservations may be made that would not require a credit card at check in, which this may be the case of your previous stays, and your company opted for that option. As your reservation was made the same day as your arrival, prepaid reservations are not available for the same day, and your reservation was not prepaid. While I do apologize and understand the frustration of having to wait till the company was able to verify the stay, this is done as a security measure for the cardholder. Much like other retailers or restaurants, as with hotels, when payment is made, we need more than just the credit card number to ensure that the card is valid and is authorized to be used by that cardholder. In the instance that the card holder can not be present, they can provide us signed authorization allowing someone else to use that card. We do need to have this authorization prior to utilizing the credit card, which is what was asked to be provided. Once again, I do apologize that your stay with us was not what you expected, and now have an understanding why our policies and procedures that you encountered are in place for the protection and the security of our guests. Sincerely, Rich St. Jean General Manager
