The Charleswoth is a restaurant and hotel so the listing is misleading. It is located right on the Delaware Bay with stunning sunsets so try and get one of the window tables. It is a bit of a ride through the back roads of Cumberland County but well worth the extra time or inconvenience. The diningroom is very pleasant. Our...

I have never stayed overnight, but based on the restaurant I am very interested in the hotel. Very quaint, homey restaurant. The view of the Delaware is exceptional. Everything is homemade. Instead of typical rolls, they offer free homemade pumpkin bread. I had sirloin tips, which were more tender than I expected. Side of hushpuppies were a little overdone, but...

Had date night dinner at The Charlesworth Hotel. It's in Fortescue NJ....which is pretty much the middle of nowhere. Bayside wall of the restaurant is all windows - perfect for watching the sunset. We didn't have a great sunset the night we were there, but it was still lovely. Scallops were to die for! He had fried clams...slightly overcooked but...

First and foremost...leave your cell phone in the car! This place is great for date night. Soft music....beautiful view....take your time...their food is cooked to order so enjoy your conversation with the person in front of you and the time you have together. They give banana bread before the meal....stuffed mushrooms for the appetizer special were fantastic...crabcakes were awesome, flounder...

Have eaten here many many times...Always delightful staff, delicious food and views! Rooms were rented by my family and were so clean and well looked after. Made for a nice day visit to Gandys Beach and Fortescue.. Can't bet the price for waterfront rooms! Excellent stay for a short period of time .

Terrible. Very little of what promised in advertisement. Didn't know the price when we made the reservation and really didn't matter 'cause we like it in Fortescue. Ended up lesser quality than than Golden Coral for $30 per person. Best part was our BYOB. Staff not welcoming and unfriendly and no music as advertised either. Better off packing a picnic...

We were greeted with smiles and warmth. After a little chat, we were given the keys to our room. Our view of the bay was perfect for a framed sunset! We shared bathroom with another guest, but it was not a problem. The bathroom is clean, cute and bright. Towels are basic toiletries are provided. The restaurant is a great...

Two weeks ago, my husband and I were looking for a place on the water for a spontaneous Saturday night dinner out. I had just clicked on the link for the address of a placed we'd been years ago in Shellpile, when a customer review of the Charlesworth popped up. We decided on-the-spot to go there instead. Great decision! The...

My wife and I had a lovely time there. We were greeted by the owner, she introduced herself and thanked us for coming out. The meals were very good and the sunset view was fantastic. We would definitely go back.

My wife and I enjoy our weekends in Fortescue, and a great way to start the weekend is a Friday night dinner at the Charlesworth. Great food, great staff, friendly owners, along with a great view of the sunset over the Delaware Bay! If you are looking for all of this in one place, then look no further. PS the...
