We decided to take a last minute family trip to NYC. A quick search found nothing reasonable in Manhattan for 4 people. Started looking outside the city, and you may save some money, but transportation may kill you. Either it takes too long via public transportation or you need to use a more expensive option like ferries or taxis. This is not the case for the Element in Harrison. This hotel is located right by the PATH station, and the train ride on the PATH is just $2.75 a person taking 20 min to get to the WTC station. Even though you're in New Jersey, it doesn't take long to get to city. The only problem is that on weekends the train may not be running after 11PM, which may require you to take a longer route to get back to hotel.

The hotel room is modern, big, and very clean! Also, the staff is exceptional and helpful. Also, breakfast is included, and it is one of the best breakfast bars that I have had at a hotel. One day included freshly made breakfast tacos, the next is omelets, and the last day was pancakes with fresh fruit. This included the standard potatoes, sausage, but it included Asian breakfast bar, yogurt breakfast bar, and great breads and bagels.

Pets are free to stay here with an outside dog relief area with bags. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Hotel and grounds are clean. Rooms are modern. Stove, full fridge, dishwasher, wine glasses, plates. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were impressed with the selection and price of room service items.

Hotel offers all the amenities and benefits of a larger hotel, yet still is small enough to feel more like boutique hotel at a great price!

Staff are friendly and highly effective. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast and restaurant are top notch. Want to go into Manhattan? You’re 20 minutes from World Trade Center by the PATH train (station a two minute walk away). Well-run hotel! Management A+!

Suggestion: add multiple electric vehicle charging stations as well as a few Tesla destination chargers. It’s a small investment, but you will see an almost immediate return. EV owners definitely take this into consideration when booking a hotel and not many in the NYC area actually have them.

Pros - Good location in terms of being easily accessible to the PATH train with direct connections to NYC. There also a nice handful of restaurants and convenient shops (i.e. drugstore, liquor store) within walking distance.

Cons - 1) Showing it's wear and tear. For example the corridors could definitely use a fresh coat of paint and new carpets. 2) The housekeeping service was subpar. Their were stains on the walls in our suite which were ignored day after day and I just felt there was a lack of conistency in terms of schedule and level of service. I never felt clean staying here. 3) The customer service was inconsistent. Some were friendly, some definitely were not. This definitely fell short of my expectations where I think everyone in hospitality should be consistently friendly.

Finally the most heartbreaking aspect of my stay was the sheer amount of trash this hotel generates daily. Other than what is provided in your suite's kitchenette, all of the dishes and cutlery are disposable; paper plates, paper cups, plastic cutlery, EVERYTHING! Even when ordering food from the restaurant, meals are servied with paper plates. It's extremely disheartening when there's so much awareness being created about the environment and it also seems completely at odds with the Westin's whole wellness mantra. Shame on them.

I needed to be in Newark for a week and simply dreaded being stuck at the airport - relying on the limited food options in a standard hotel. This property came up in my search and I am so happy I gave it a try. The hotel itself is long stay - rooms are very comfortable and include small kitchens. Bathrooms are nice with Pharmacopia products. There is a continental breakfast buffet included in the room rate. Staff are friendly and there is laundry on site. The neighborhood really makes this a win. Within walking distance there are many great restaurants, coffee shops and a supermarket. The hotel is across the street from the Path train - and it takes about 20 minutes to get into New York City. The property is about 15 to 20 minutes from Newark Airport. Thanks to the staff for a great stay and I will definitely be back if I need to stay by Newark Airport for a while.

We enjoyed our recent stay at Element Harrison-Newark. Check-in was a breeze. Our two key cards quit functioning during our stay but were quickly reprogrammed and never gave us another problem. My phone app didn't work so good so I resorted to using a key card. We had our dog with us and it was one of the main reasons we chose Element. The room was really quite, I actually thought we were alone on the floor. The complimentary breakfast had a good selection of food and was a good way to start the day. The proximity to the PATH train made it easy for us to get everywhere we had planned to go. We will stay at Element Harrison-Newark again if we are ever in the area.

I felt very safe and comfortable during my stay here. Room was incredibly clean and the hotel overall is well designed. Feels almost like a modern apartment building and not a hotel at all.
The staff is friendly and make you feel right at home. You can tell they are very passionate about their jobs. I’m sad that I cannot remember the names of the employees I spoke with as I found them to be incredibly pleasant.
As for the surrounding area...there is lots of great food nearby within walking distance! Drugstore not too far either. The hotel is also conveniently located by a train station.
However, that being said, be prepared for loud noise and some interesting characters wandering the surrounding area at night. (But if you’re like me and enjoy the entertainment outside your window, you may not mind too much.)
Thankfully the hotel is well secured and they do provide ear plugs for the noise.
Parking is an extra fee per day but relatively affordable and well worth it! (I would not park my car on any of the streets in this area after some of the things I witnessed...)

AVOID AVOID AVOID

They do not offer a room cleaning service, make your bed, change the linen towels etc. if you stay more than 1 night. Chris Moron ( I kid you not that’s his name ) is a moron what hotel doesn’t offer a cleaning service.

Rude and obnoxious i won’t stay in Any Marriott gain because of this Moron. Avoid unless you like paying to clean and make up your own room.

What a shame

We had a wonderful stay here! The hotel was clean and the staff was very nice and responsive to all our questions and requests. We looked forward to the "grab and go" breakfast every morning and it was nice to have a different selection of items but we only wished they had some different things on different days but since we could cook in our own rooms it didn't really matter. Having a nice kitchenette in the room was awesome and there were plenty of storage areas. The hotel was so close to so many great restaurants too which was awesome. We could walk to several places.

Still I awe at how great this place is. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Very ideal spot if going to Red Bull Arena or to city (20 min away via Train which is right there); great spots to eat nearby; two parking areas with security (21 bucks per day); work out room, great breakfast bar; ecological toiletries; takes dogs. Charging stations in room; full studio options with refrigerator, stove etc. Would I recommend? Unequivocally yes.

Hi, Yes they do provide pick-up and drop-off. My flight hours were during the day. I had sent them the request through email and called them the day before flying to make sure the request was taken care off. The driver was extremely nice! So I would just contact them to have them put it on the planning. Krgds and great trip! Nerea
