Detailed Reviews
This hotel is just what my husband and I have been needing. I surprised him with a weekend in Hoboken since we moved out of the area and he's been wanting to go back and visit. We went w/ our 8 month old baby and our pup. It is surely amazing service!! I was worried about the room I booked as I didn't think it would be big enough for all of us, and Emily at the front desk took her time to help me with the upgrade (King room w/ a view to the city) as well as let me know if it's not to our liking we can always get help moving back to another room. It was the perfect size with beautiful views to the city skyline. We had a crib sent up to the room and the bellhops were servicable. We ordered room service that evening and the food was delicious!! Loved the bathrobes and slippers in room as well. Did not touch the mini bar as the prices were a bit high, but everything you need is within walking distance of hotel, restaurants, supermarkets and liquor stores. Saturday night was a bit loud, but we were warned about there being an event. We were told it wouldnt go past 11 pm and it did not. It was more so the base and sounds of DJ speaking that could be heard, however, we brought our sound machine for baby and it did not disrupt her sleep. Can't say it was a relaxing stay as our little one keeps us busy :) But it was a nice time away and we were able to show her where mommy and daddy's love story began!! Loved the W and will be going back for sure!!

NYC is a fantastic place to visit - be it business or pleasure. Staying at the W Hoboken was a nice alternative to staying in Midtown and just as convenient. The PATH is walking distance from the hotel and there were plenty of taxis and ride share alternatives available. If you drive there is a $40 a day parking fee, which is pretty much the same for this type of trip. The Halifax restaurant in the hotel offers a great view of the Manhattan skyline. The staff is young and eager to help. If you request a partial river view I would suggest requesting a floor above the third floor. I would stay here again.

I had THE best time at the W Hoboken this past weekend! I took my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and everything from the service to the room was absolutely incredible!
Special acknowledgment to Gerrell for ensuring that we had an amazing stay. Since I was already a Marriott member, we received a room upgrade with a view of the Empire State building and we received complimentary drink vouchers. Will definitely be returning!

I've stayed here before and was expecting a beautiful room especially at the price point I paid. What an absolute disappointment. I reserved a "spectacular" room which is top tier room guaranteeing a spectacular view and a higher floor. This was for a 50th celebration and I advised them ahead of time. I was so disappointed when I walked into our 11th floor room with an up close and personal (you can see what's on their dinner table) view of the living spaces in the apartments next door. The view of the skyline was a partial view which wasn't what I thought I was paying $320 for. And there's no point in having a "view" of the Manhattan skyline when I have to keep my drapes closed so the people in the apartments next door aren't looking in at us. It's a pandemic, it's not like the hotel is booked out. Put people in your best rooms for their price point. The carpet was dingy and sanitize practices in the room were questionable. I also considered the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor which was a fraction of the price and I could have gotten an upgraded room for the price I paid at the W. I wish we had reserved there.
Parking here is also a joke. You either pay for 10 hours or you jump to 24 hours. There's nothing in between so if you check in at 4 and leave as early as 8 am, you still have to pay for $35. for 24 hours. Absolute WASTE of money! Don't get caught up in the hype that it's the W so it'll be 5 star. It's not. Go somewhere else.

Over the course of our visit, we continually received hostile treatment by staff and the front desk. We had a few things delivered, and each time, the front desk refused to have anybody bring it up to us (just dropping it off at our closed door, completely socially distanced.) This was *after* we spoke to someone else at the front desk that said they would be happy to drop it off to our door, and would have W security escort our delivery person to our room. After some time, nobody came up and we called to check in and the front desk person flipped. They continually said “nobody was available to drop it off to us” and fought with us tooth and nail on the phone. Literally, argued. One person even hung up on us. This was after we communicated to them several times that we would not be opening the door, because contrary to how they were treating us, we actually do care about the health and safety of the staff. It made for an extremely stressful visit. We really don’t appreciate the staff acting as if we are putting them at risk or asking for something insane. We spent over $200 for one night. On top of it, the room was clearly falling apart- chipped nightstands, dusty curtains. Pretty gross. Save your money and go to the Holiday Inn.

W, I expected better. My husband and I were excited to spend a night here this past weekend after checking out photos online. Front desk staff were friendly so no issues there. They also had an on-site restaurant, Halifax, which we did not patronize so can't comment on that. However, the rest of our stay left much to be desired.
For starters, with seasonally cold weather, one could not control the temperature in their room. To me, this was totally unacceptable. Who wants to constantly call the front desk to have them reach their "remote engineer' to adjust the temperature? I've stayed in 2-star hotels where I was able to control the temp in my room. I'm assuming they are trying to cut costs, but wouldn't it make more sense to shut down thermostats in rooms not in service, in order to allow everyone else to self-adjust?
Secondly our room did not have a vanity, refrigerator, or water. We were parched by the end of the day and could not get water nor was there a vending machine on the floor as we were willing to buy it. The makeup mirror in the bathroom was loose and would not stay up. There was only hand soap next to the bathroom sink where we've come to also expect a bar in the shower in addition to shower gel. Lastly, the walls are paper thin as someone was having a party at 11pm with loud hip hop music and we could hear everything. And to think I was upgraded to the "Fabulous" room where the view was obstructed by curtains we had to secure with a towel. I'm still trying to figure out what was so fabulous about our stay. Never again!

This property seems like it would be an average W during normal times, but they have made unusually draconian cuts during Covid that reduce it to a very overpriced Fairfield Inn (Marriott's most basic chain). Service and amenities are minimal; no parking, no luggage assistance, no food or drink of any kind in the hotel in the morning until after 10am, including no way to get coffee or tea, and no room service. The parking situation is particularly bad; street parking is difficult and the one garage across the street is both expensive ($20-35 each time you go in and out) and often full. Most of the time there is a 15 minute wait to park, and half of the garage has 2" of water on the floor so you need to wear your boots.
I would not stay here again under any circumstances until some of these services are restored. I stayed in a Courtyard (another Marriott chain) 2 weeks ago and they had much, much better amenities than this W, including food, coffee, parking, etc.

My husband and I are having an amazing night away at the W. The services has been top notch. Every detail and request has been tended to, from our online requests to onsite support with a room upgrade and a minor issue in our room. The view is unreal. Exactly what we needed during our staycation

I booked a room for the night of April 30th that promised a "Spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline" at a rate of $543. Unfortunately, the view from the window on the 3rd floor, while it included a view of the Hudson river and Manhattan, also included a view of a pile of cigarette butts, various trash, and a plastic bottle of what looked very much like urine on the area of the lower roof that extended directly outside my window.
I had been promised an electronic key at the check-in time of 3:00 pm. That never came. I did get a notification on the Bonvoy app that the room was ready around 5:30 pm, but then had to wait in line to get my actual key on check-in (they did give me an electronic key on check-in as well so it was clear it was just an oversight and not a technical issue that prevented them from sending it earlier as they promised). After this, I was not interested in going back to the front desk to complain. This does raise an issue that others have commented on, however, and that's security. Why are people directly outside the windows of the rooms that they are renting and creating a small trash heap. As a result, I made sure to keep the window and curtain closed. So much for the "Spectacular" view that was promised.
I had mentioned this to the W when they sent an email asking for feedback, but I haven't heard anything back from them. So, overall, I got the feeling that this hotel was not particularly interested in treating their customers with respect or delivering what was paid for.

Stayed for 3 nights. It was fantastic from start to end. On arrival we were greeted by Gerrell who was most helpful during our stay. The room with its magnificent views of manhattan was modern, very clean with a comfy sofa to admire the view. Breakfast was tasty and enjoyable also with the views over the river. The hotel is a short walk to station and then 15 min train into the city so very well located. Hoboken town was lovely too and would definitely return again. We were also helped on the front desk by Lucia.

I don’t know.
Probably the best bet is to go into NYC & taking the Path to Hoboken. You can easily walk from the Path station to the W or catch an Uber, it won't be expensive. Another option is taking the ferry from Manhattan to Hoboken, where the dock is near the Sheraton Hotel, about 1.5 miles from the W.
review the official website and check out the room type if you really consider it. W is not fitting to family I guess.
