We stayed here two weeks day by day due to flight issues we were facing with our airline back in December. I feel like I have a good feel for what goes on at this hotel. First off, lots and lots of weed smoke. Be prepared to be invaded through your central air with the stench of high times catalogue. We had only a few days where our heated air was not inundated with some kind of paraphernalia. Mostly locals frequent here for get togethers, be it UFC fights, football games or birthday parties. Most of our nights weren’t too bad except for guests going in and out and doors slamming as they do in this hotel. (heavy doors are nice but that’s the downside) Some nights though, there were sounds like someone just was murdered in the other room, I kid not. It was only once this happened so that’s why I did not move hotels and decided to tough it out with my family. The woman was breaking glass, tv, throwing things everywhere and then all of a sudden all my wife and I heard was a loud thump, then complete silence at 4-5 in the morning. The night before must have been pals getting together for a party cuz it was loud until 1-2AM. Young men and women going through the takeout food we did not finish outside in the hall which is gross especially during Covid, but more sad and not a reason to leave exactly so that didn’t bother us completely. A lady knocked on our door and asked if she could buy a cigarette once which was kind of comical. Don’t hold your breath for shuttle service, completely unreliable. Some times I was waiting for two hours coming down frequently to check. When speaking with the driver he said they were over worked. He was just a negative guy though, there was one other gentleman who had a great attitude, remember to tip him. You’ll know which is which right away. The staff was very helpful in our experience. It is one of the reasons we decided to stay. Especially the manager, I never got his name. He offered to help with a discounted rate for our situation we were facing on our budget. We had no idea how long it would take for our visas to be issued so we could fly. We did stay for over two weeks so I feel a discounted rate was warranted regardless. At that stage we didn’t know so no blame on him, he was trying to help. I wish I had played it better but that’s the disadvantage to not knowing how long bureaucracy takes so I didn’t have leverage to negotiate rates. We upgraded once to a king room once but when we went in it stank like cigarettes and someone had smashed the tv. So you ask why I continued to stay with my daughter and wife if this was the experience we had? Great question, excellent question actually. I honestly did not feel threatened by the other guests once directly. No one ever came banging on our door to harass us. My daughter never woke up once and I was up late night arranging our documents, it didn’t bother me. While these weren’t exactly isolated inferences, it wasn’t an every day occurrence. Also, be mindful that this was in December around Christmas time so might have been just due to holiday season. We were mostly in our room due to freezing weather and Covid shutdowns so I was the only one going in and out, never had a confrontation. One other strong reason was due to being given a voucher to Best Western Robert Treat around the corner by the airlines which was filthy, stuck up receptionist and stolen phone by maid service. By that comparison the Tryp was night and day better, so I was blinded by that I guess. All in all, decent experience, memorable,,, I suppose so haha. The rooms themselves were really nice, bathrooms were premium and showers never out of hot relaxing water. TV was huge with all the channels. Beds comfortable and cleaning service ladies were top notch. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, I would opt for Element Harrison which is something we only noticed half way through our stay. Far greater value with a kitchen to cook with whole foods being close by.…
Clean room and comfy bed but little things were scuffed(walls) stained (desk chair cushion) and broken (towel bar) And no one know how to activate their new electric car charger which was the reason I’d booked this hotel. But they removed parking fee, which helped.
Food was stolen by hotel guest and the problem was never resolved after being reported to front desk and security. As well as continuously being locked out of the room due to the key not working. Overall this was a very bad experience. As a Wyndham rewards member I felt completely disrespected and unappreciated!
Only hotel not responding at all to questions around rescheduling/rebooking due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. Even the tiniest B&Bs we had booked for our US trip were more customer centric. Poor service, will not consider hotel/brand in the future.
Everything is amazing about this convenient to travel location but the staff. Front desk had a check in line upon arrival and the GSR acted like we were honored to be in his presence. I purchased a beverage from market in beautiful lobby lounge. They did deliver my folio and a GSR later staffed overnight did genuinely assist me with a tv remote. The receiving GSR acted unfamiliar with property amenities and neighborhood business and food. I ordered a wake up call which he seemed irritated to accept. Hire more gracious staff!!
