I contacted the hotel to ask about a shuttle from EWR to stay there when flight was cancelled. I had a booking.com price of under $100 and when I got to the hotel they said the lowest price was $120 plus taxes. I said that I preferred to order on booking.com. The person in charge who did not give me her name (Latina in her late 20s/early 30s) said that if I did the reservation through booking I might not get the reservation cleared that night. (It was past 10 pm). So i asked for a better price but she said that was the only option. 1 person, no food. She also said that she was charging me $150 deposit for incidentals. She charged the women next to me $50 incidentals and the guy after me $80 sobviously not consistent. When I checked out I asked to cancel the deposit and give me a receipt but was told that was impossible because the system was down. I asked to speak to the manager and have him follow up with me but still did not get a response. I asked for the persons name who handled the incident but was told that was impossible. I cannot believe that this is a Marriot hotel. I feel like they took advantage of the fact that I was at the hotel late at night and threatened me to not have a reservation if I completed the reservation on booking.com I am also submitted a report to booking.com about this. I request at least an explanation and a refund to meet the booking.com mobile price of $98. I will also post this on Trip Advisor. Hope to get a response.

I arrived last Friday, May 7 - and decided to park and fly for my family's vacation. Since the hotel offers parking and shuttle service why not leave it here and just shuttle back. BIG MISTAKE. Return pickup instructions were unclear. I contacted the hotel via chat several times and several days, before returning home, to get clear pick-up instructions but received no feedback. I called the shuttle at 5:40 PM and the desk personnel gave very unclear directions. I've never used the shuttle before so we asked airport personnel to direct us to find P4 hotel shuttle pick-up. When we finally got clear instructions, the front desk person, Ms. Lopez, lied and said that she didn't give us the information that we heard her say. Also, she very loudly argued that we missed the shuttle. We waited at the designated area for over an hour and had to call repeatedly. We asked the shuttle driver when was he dispatched he said that he just got the first call to come to get us...at 7:15 pm. We had been at the airport for over an hour waiting for the shuttle. We were told that we would be refunded and when we finally arrived at the hotel, Ms. Lopez claimed that she didn't say that and didn't have the authority to do so. I had to stay at the hotel an additional night because I can't return home until tomorrow. I would have canceled my reservation if I could have. I've been a Starwood/Marriott owner for over 10 years and this was the worst experience that I have ever had!

Cleaning staff did a nice job cleaning the room and the lady at the front desk was helpful to resolve an issue I had with the room. However, this hotel has lots of issues and I would not stay here again. Beds are uneven consistency in mattress, pillows are essentially just pillow cases that's how flat they are. Coffee and "hot" water provided in lobby is never even warm just room temp (this way on 5 different ocassions in the morning time frame). Only cereal and oatmeal provided for breakfast during COVID, not an issue but just FYI. Internet does not work and only a handful of TV channels come through and it's not even the main networks-- in all honestly local cheap motels can provide better, more consistent, amenities. The entire hotel smells like smoke or weed and while hotel staff shouldn't have to monitor adults to wear masks, many guests do not wear masks despite the large signs everywhere. Parking is expensive yet the lot is not secure (all gates to enter/leave appear to have been driven through and they have not been fixed), I would not leave my car here. There is nothing near this location and depending on where you are driving in from, getting to the hotel is tough and requires lots of exits (be careful not to get on the toll road accidently!). If a friend asked if they should stay at this hotel, I'd give an absolute no and recommend they choose a different hotel and location.

In town for a weekend of wedding festivities and chose this because it was the first few events were in Jersey. It’s close enough to downtown but a TERRIBLE location basically in between two highways. Lyft driver could not find me and ended up cancelling the ride; hotel staff said they always have trouble finding it. Our room on the 3rd floor smelled like 3 packs of freshly smoked cigarettes. All of the smoke detectors in the room had been broken so clearly others had made this into a smoking room. The smell was so strong we actually called the front desk and had them move us at 1:00 am. Breakfast offerings, even in this pandemic, were pitiful. The rooms were also dirty and gave me doubts about their ability to follow the extra cleanliness protocols. Would not stay here again!

Stayed at the hotel for work travel for the week. Stayed on the 2nd floor. Woke up with bites and saw black bedbug droppings on the sheets. Spoke with the hotel staff and they were understanding and moved me to the 4th floor. They also did a load of laundry for me. I feel bad that they have to deal with this. A few days later I had bites on my legs which may have came from the desk chair and there was blood on the sheets from my leg. I kept all my luggage in the bathroom on the ironing board until checkout. This place has a serious bedbug issue that needs to be solved. Marriott needs to step in and take action. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
