Nestled among the rolling hills of rural Sussex County, New Jersey, The Wooden Duck Bed & Breakfast is an oasis of country pleasures. From the moment guests turn onto the quiet lane and winding drive leading to the inn, they are transported into a world of natural beauty and gracious hospitality. A hearty country breakfast is served in the dining room each morning, accompanied by juice, milk, and hot coffee or tea. The menu varies daily and begins with home-baked tea bread, coffee cake, or muffins, depending on the day. Fruit and breakfast meat, as well as French toast, pancakes, or a delectable egg casserole, complete the offering. Complimentary coffee, tea, soda, snacks, trail mix, and homemade chocolate chip cookies are also available anytime in the guest pantry.

My husband and I were in the area house-hunting due to a work relocation. We picked The Wooden Duck because of its central location. Looking for a house in this time in this market was stressful and exhausting. It was so nice to wake up each morning and have a delicious and filling breakfast before heading out for a day of driving around and looking at houses, and it was so nice to come back in the evening after a long day, and sit and eat our dinner at a quiet table in the dining room looking out over the pool and watching the many birds at the bird feeders. Jason and Mary Ann were so kind, asking us each day how our search went and wishing us luck. The house-hunting task was challenging and exhausting, and coming back to The Wooden Duck in the evening was the best part of the day. We stayed in the Ruddy room and I was grateful for the fireplace on the chilly spring evenings, and the comfy chairs so we didn’t have to sit on the bed to discuss the our finds and plans. I would definitely recommend The Wooden Duck for anything from a romantic getaway to an overnight business trip. Thank you Jason and Mary Ann for a lovely stay.

Property's Favourite Review
I absolutely loved it at The Wooden Duck B&B. The place is so warm, inviting, peaceful, & beautiful. The pool area, with it's accented garden, was perfect for relaxing and winding down. Our room was cozy and I was able to get some great sleep. The breakfast was so tasty and can tell they put the hearts into it. The owners were so accommodating, warm, and friendly. Loved it here. Definitely will come back.

After being on my “vacation radar” for many years, my wife and I finally visited the Wooden Duck this past weekend. From the moment we arrived - relaxation was the word. With protocols in place, Jason provide an easy registration and familiarization with the area. We stayed in the “Old Squaw” bedroom in the Carriage House, and we were very comfortable. Breakfast on Saturday morning was a delicious French Toast Bake, poached pear, and freshly made banana cake - all prepared by our gracious hostess, Maryann. The Skylands area of NW New Jersey provided many options for dining and day trips - with Jason providing additional options. Sunday morning eggs and quiche was another excellent breakfast. We had a truly lovely and relaxing stay at the Wooden Duck.

As I was traveling for business, I didn't have much choice about my travel dates; regardless, both in owners were quite helpful an reassuring of this southerner's hesitance to travel to a region just hut with 30" snow. The roads were plowed, and the inn was pretty near perfect. Excellent COVID-19 protocols. Very accommodating with breakfast (one morning I needed to be up and out early). In-house dining was amazing. The room was impeccable (complete with cozy, fluffy bath robes). The dinner recommendations were on point. Can't wait to see the inn in spring, summer, or fall

It was great having you stay with us. Our first 30 inch snow storm since we purchased the inn however the town did a wonderful job clearing all the local roads. We are grateful Andover is such a wonderful town. Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to share them with others. We look forward to your return!

This was our first time staying at a B&B and I will say we were blown away at this place. We stayed into New Years so the property was fully decorated with Christmas decor. The property was immaculate, the common areas were all cozy and inviting (we stayed in our room the whole time due to Covid) but we will definitely be back to see how it is post Covid. Regarding cleaning and covid policies, they were great. There was a socially distant check in which was easy, the property had signs all over about wearing masks and sanitizing. We stayed in the Golden Eye room and it was wonderful. The room was spacious and clean. The bathtub was big enough for 2 people comfortably. The bed was great as well. The breakfast each morning was delicious, the freshly baked muffins, French toast and homemade cookies were all delicious. In the common area there was a fridge with water, juice and soda, a nice touch. Overall, can’t recommend this place enough.
