Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Hotel Cabana Oceanfront/Boardwalk earns high marks for its cleanliness and modern atmosphere, with guests often praising its updated and aesthetically pleasing rooms. While the prime boardwalk location is a hit for easy beach access, some travelers note issues with noise and room allocation. The friendly service is frequently commended, but management's communication has room for improvement. However, guests are disappointed by unexpected costs such as the daily parking and pet fees, which detract from the hotel's overall value.

Great location, right at the boardwalk! Rooms were very clean, the place looks like it has been recently renovated, staff was very friendly and attentive, parking is $20 per night and you get a designated spot, they charge a $75 fee for pets for the entire stay, this is the only hotel that is pet friendly on the boardwalk, we had a good time at the pool too. I would definitely stay there again.

I read the reviews before coming to this hotel so I was a little on edge, this was a GREAT place to stay and the closest to the beach and boardwalk you could possibly get! We came as a family with my mom and daughter. Checkin was very simple and easy. The parking I saw reviews on and was worried for, but we were able to get parking right our front under the hotel. I reckon there would be difficulties finding parking on a weekend but we came on a weekday. One some downsides were that you have to pay $15 for parking :-/. It should’ve been free. Also there are no elevators. My mom is elderly so it was difficult getting up and down the stairs everyday. We love the beach and came for that as well as the boardwalk so we were not in the room until nighttime. The rooms are so so updated and beautiful very very clean I was very impressed. Our water didn’t come out yellow or anything like that. We slept like babies at night we couldn’t hear anything! The pool was a nice touch as well. There is a balcony at the top of the hotel. that you can sit in at night and bring you own drink to drink and people watch on the boardwalk. It was a very peaceful stay. If it weren’t for the paid parking and elevator situation it would be five stars! Oh yea and water in the lobby wasn’t free, it’s $1.50 a water. The front desk was nice enough to give us a free one each for our stay. There are no coffee machines in the lobby. Regardless if those two issues we would definitely be coming back to stay here each summer. Luckily Dunkin’ Donuts is a 2 minute walk down the boardwalk from the hotel. Loved this place!

After our family vacation at the Hotel Cabana I felt compelled to write a review about our stay and the attitude of the outstanding staff and the ubiquitous general manager Pragnesh Patel. The front desk catered to our every whim and Pragnesh made sure we got everything we requested , including a complimentary upgrade for both rooms . I am in my eighties and did a lot of traveling over the years but never met a hotel manager who was so on top of things and as caring as Pragnesh . The location is perfect , the best on the boardwalk , everything at the hotel was first class including the little touch of having a large tumbler filled with ice cold lemonade in the lobby to help guests "take the edge off " after the challenging 3 hour trip on the Garden State Parkway . I would never even consider staying anyplace else but the Cabana the next time I am in Wildwood .

Specifically booked and paid for a king size bed since my husband is very tall and cannot fit in a queen. Upon check in, I was told I was being given a king bed and that our room was around the back in the annex, a completely separate building from the hotel. Threw our things into the room without even thinking about it and went to the beach. Came back a few hours later and noticed the bed was definitely not a king, I’m not even sure if it was a queen. Went to the bathroom and I could barely fit inside. I’m 5’2” so there’s not a chance my husband was getting in at all. I’m shocked because this back part of the hotel is nothing like what was shown in the photos when I booked the room. Shower had long black hairs and soap scum in the corners. Just nasty. My husband went to the front desk and was told there is nothing they can do and to come back tomorrow to speak to a manager for compensation. We were only staying for 1 night and check out is at 11:00 am.

I contacted hotels.com and asked them to help. Suddenly at 9 pm, I get a phone call from the front desk and they miraculously have another room available in the main building of the hotel. We packed up our things and carried them up two flights of stairs with no help from staff and imagine our surprise when we find the bathroom is twice the size of the first one we were given. The king size bed was actually a king as well. However, we only got to spend half the time that I paid for in this room which is a complete joke.

Rooms have wall unit air conditioning which is extremely LOUD. We had to sleep without air because it was keeping us up. This hotel does not mention anywhere that parking is $15 per day and you’re not guaranteed a spot even if you pay. I was actually told if I’m able to find a spot, don’t move my car because I might not get another one when I return. What kind of hotel is charging $15 per day for parking when they don’t even have enough spots for each room? Not a single hotel in this area charges for parking. I contacted management regarding compensation that was promised by front desk staff and they never even bothered to respond. This place is supposedly brand new and it’s looking dated already, plus it’s dirty. I will not be returning or recommending.

When it comes to looks of this place it was beautiful BUT to me everything else outweighed it. Hence why I’m giving it this rating. First problem we arrive 2:30 before check come to find out they do NOT have enough parking for all of their guest. I have proof on the website we booked that they had enough parking to accommodate each unit. When my fiancé asked the front desk in the beginning was friendly but quickly that changed trying to rush him out stating “a manager will contact you & you can look a few blocks away for free parking or they had 24 hour parking lots”. Well an hour and a half later no parking and most the parking lots were until 12pm or 1am. I called the front desk and she didn’t even know where to tell us to go. She had to google it which I already did no 24 hour parking lots near the area. OVER 5 blocks away and after asking several lots we found one who charged us $70 that would keep the car. We asked for a king size bed in the room which we never received & we were given two beds. When we got into our room the water in the shower , sink & toilet were all YELLOW. I literally thought someone peed in the toilet but stayed the same color with every flush. Which someone else was previously complaining about when we were checking in. An entire day went by and NO call from the manager so we went downstairs to the lobby to request to see this manager. I said we spend $600 and had to pay an additional $70 for parking which I feel we are not responsible for because your false advertisement. The best they can do it 15% our next stay. Are you kidding me?! This place is an absolute joke & does not care about the people who stay & all the money they spent.

Let me tell you as someone who stayed here as a kid when it was the kings inn, this was the place to be. 3 yrs ago it was a howard Johnson and a dump. New owners have really turned this place around. The rooms are all fresh, clean and have brand new bed and amenities. The deck up top over looking the boardwalk and ocean was incredible. 3 cabanas with beautiful flower boxes really set the mood. You can sit up there at night and listen to the sounds of the boards or get a free concert from the seaport right across the way. I'm very happy with how they cleaned this place up. The staff is fantastic the young girl Friday and Saturday was very accommodating and the girl at check out was very plesant. It is the spot to stay and will only get better.

We had a one-night reservation at Hotel Cabana. All our plans for the weekend had to come to a halt as tropical storm Ophelia made landfall and led to coastal flooding advisories across New Jersey. Because of this, travel would be extremely unsafe, especially traveling to a hotel that is very much directly on the coast.
Even though it was day-of, we tried to cancel our reservation since attempting to make the trip would be very dangerous and would likely lead to being stuck on the island until the storm was over, which has happened a number of times in the recent past.
Hotel Cabana would not cancel our reservation, stating that there are no refunds. It is highly unprofessional and highly unethical to expect your guests to travel in dangerous, extraordinary conditions. Over the course of our many next trips to Wildwood, we will make sure to avoid Hotel Cabana at all costs due to this unethical handling of this situation.

The hotel was very clean but the bathroom is extremely small. The location is great but you have to extra $15.00 to park. They had some kind of juice in the lobby. No coffee . Good thing for Dunki. Do think I would stay here again. For the same price get something that is free to park on gives you something,

When booking this hotel i did not know they charge $15 a day for parking! I never would have booked this place if i knew that. I tried to call and talk to someone about extra charges on my statement but got the run around until they finally told me it was for parking. i was told manager would call me back but of course they did not. All the hotels i ever went to in the Wildwoods never charged for parking. Parking was always included with room.

Husband & I stayed for a whole week. Pros & Cons below..

Pros: Location is the best spot on the boardwalk. Fishers Pancakes is right there for breakfast. Dive Bar across the way for dinner, music & drinks. The better water park pier is 200ft away. Beach access is right there too. The room renovation was nicely done. It was perfect for us as a couple in our mid 30’s.

Cons: Need to be a bit more transparent on the parking situation on websites. 75 rooms and maybe 25-28 parking spots. Caution to families, you will get wiffs of pot in your room. They smoke right out their door and in their rooms. Lots of steps so beware if you have trouble with them, no elevator.

Overall, we would stay again.

Suggestion for hotel: strike up a parking deal with the Day Trippers parking lot across the street. Prepaid reserved spots along their long fence line maybe. Would be nice to have in & out access 24/7 to enjoy the other restaurants in town since parking at the hotel is nowhere near guaranteed.
