I have stayed here on and off for many years. Whoever now owns this property obviously does not care at all about it. Had to change rooms 3 times. First room filled with mold, second room tub wouldn't drain, finally a more updated room on the second floor. Room was dirty, never swept under beds, (don't look if you go!) walls dirty, AC dirty, filter had mold spots. It's a shame this historical gem is being left to rot.
This used to be our go-to place at the beach. The rooms were small with and out of date but we didn't care because the location and the price were great. We have gone here every year for over 20 years. We called this year to reserve the rooms we had last year only to find out that there was a new owner and they had TRIPLED the rate!!! Last year in July we paid 1100.00 for 3 tiny rooms that were connected over the office area. This year they wanted 3500.00 for the same 3 rooms in July. We called around and got a whole floor of a huge house, 4 bedrooms a living room a porch and a full kitchen with beach tags for 8 for 2000.00 instead. We also found a 2BR apt with pullout sofa in the LR with a full kitchen for 800.00 The Pavillion is no longer competitive in price and sadly we will no longer go there until they fix this!…
Moldy bathroom, shower curtain disgusting, bowl of moldy water under kitchen sink, Air conditioners never cleaned and full of mold and filters packed with dust. No outlet or lights that work in bedroom. Ceiling fans are gross, Bathtub caulk moldy. Ceiling tiles missing in bathroom and water stains on some. Just a gross place, we have stayed there for eight years and this is the first time this happened. Very disappointed
Positives: Only one block from the boardwalk and beach Allowed us to reserve only one night Friendly staff Negatives: Small parking lot TV in our room was missing the cable box The overflow parking lot was 3 blocks away The "heated" pool was colder than the ocean Noisy Decor was meh Strong mold smell when you open the dresser drawers Look, it's a motor lodge with apartments in the back. It's not fancy. We didn't expect it to be. But it was clean. Basically, we paid for location.
We have stayed here several times in the past. Not the Ritz, but always clean, friendly, and felt safe. Not this time! The bathroom was dirty - hair on the walls, on the radiator in the bathroom. Some of the towels were stained. No housekeeping service AT ALL and we were there for 3 nights (and this is during COVID). Had to go and ask for more towels, wash clothes, soap, and shampoo. The lights above the beds did not work, the toilet seat cover fell off. There was slamming of doors, knocking on doors, and shouting going on at 1 am the one night. They used to have a restaurant next door and include a breakfast. None of that - it's now used as a storage room. One positive - the outdoor pool was clean and inviting. We will NEVER go back there again, and we will make sure to pass around to not go there. It's a shame. Used to be a nice, reasonable place to stay close to the beach.…
