When I first arrived in my room I noticed rust in the tub coming from the shower curtain didn’t bother me so much until the water backed up on my feet with brown dirt in it while I was showering and I had to jump out and go to my nephews room and take a shower because we were late for a wedding if you want I could attach pictures let me know when your response
The staff was excellent but the property is dated and worn Needs a major improvement the room and public areas are all in need of a major update and renovation There could be an effort at food service through vending machines. A breakfast was provided that was well thought out and contactless
Stay Details: King Room. Included fridge, and microwave, small keurig machine, 2 water bottles, and Neutrogena toiletries. Wonderfully large desk for writing along with lounge chair. Single sink bathroom with shower and bathtub. Included ironing board and iron. Amenities: Nice business office and Pool. Decently stocked mini-market with a few frozen options. (As opposed to the chicken parmesan that is stocked in almost every hotel). Location: Right in the Rockaway mall. Literally about 1000 feet from route 80. About 5 minutes from Route 46. About 10 minutes from RT 10. 1 hr from NYC on a good day without traffic. Food: You can literally walk to Buffalo Wild Wings or Millers Ale house from the hotel. Uber Eats and Door Dash are available in the area, and can deliver directly to your room. Local Dominos is about 5 minutes away and delivers quickly. Noise Level: Very quiet room wise though sometimes you can slightly hear people in the hallway. Its one of the things I like most about this place. TV: Not a smart TV. LG Flatscreen with non-limited volume. Direct TV with HBO Included. Internet: Free internet is decent for sending emails and normal productivity. You need to spring for the paid internet for streaming or videoconferencing. Free internet handled a webex call fine but video was pixelated. Reason for stay: (Personal) To get the hell away from my roomates and have some actual quiet time with my boyfriend. I live about 5 minutes away from this hotel but whenever I have the money to get away from my household and enjoy some peace and quiet, I come here. Decor/Personality: The hotel has a quiet, clean, and serene decor and mood to it. I travel alot. I can not stress enough how tiring it can be visiting a hotel with bright obnoxious lighting and annoyingly vivid color choices. Not to mention unnecessarily loud lobby music. This hotels decor is calming, which is what I need after a long day of travel. Sometimes, i even come to the lobby to write. It is a great place to sit and read or get work done. The hotel just feels and even smells relaxing. Staff: Staff is always friendly and accommodating. I have a habit of changing plans last minute and they are always quick to help with reservations. Cleaning crew is always nice enough to give me anything extra I may need. Bedding: White( :) ) mostly cotton and polyester bedding that breathes very nicely. (I sweat when I sleep) Pillows are down ( or at least feel like down). Pillows could be a little thicker. Cleanliness: This place is impeccably clean which is why I continue to visit here. General Comments: The free internet is not nosebleed slow as with most hotels. You can actually get alot done with it. You can bring an HDMI cable and stream movies to the TV - however you need to pay for the higher speed internet, which is totally reasonable. The AC unit is reasonably quiet as opposed to sounding like an 747 is landing. Every so often, us locals host pools parties at the hotel because its reasonably priced and is a great sleepover option. The hotel actually works really hard with us to give us this option, which I think is amazing. That being said, the pool goes from either completely empty to over-run with kids that track water everywhere. The staff does a wonderful job of keeping the floors dry so you dont slip and fall. I cant say enough good things about how nice the staff is here. They really are a gem. I have not had the opportunity yet to grab breakfast because the beds are so comfy that I always oversleep - which is something I desperately need whenever I go there. I have no CONs for this place at all. Except that it is in the Mall and mall drivers are less than to be desired.…
Upon check in I was humiliated by the front desk clerk Josh! He checked my credit card and he did not review the information on the card. He announced that I didn't have money for my stay. I'm a HH member!
Another good Hilton Garden Inn, located next to both shopping and restaurants. The hotel has a small business center and indoor swimming pool. The hotel also has a small combined bar and restaurant, serving an OK breakfast buffet. Service is good and so are the beds. Rather large rooms with free wifi and what you can expect.
