Well, I feel as though I should start by listing off the positive aspects of this motel as there were a few. While staying here at the economy inn and suites in Somers Point N.J. on the Jersey shore, we were able to heat the room. It was toward the end of January and very cold outside. At least some of the linens were changed to clean pieces and we only had to buy 2 new pillow cases and a comforter. On one of the beds there was a comforter that had some fairly suspicious looking stains of which we weren't willing to risk coming into contact with. The local Walmart had reasonably priced linens so we were all set there. The door to the unit had a lock and inside safety lock that worked and we used a chair from inside the unit to wedge between the bed and door to close the gaping Crack in the door frame that was allowing icy air to enter the unit. This made a world of difference. The negative things that I should mention are the stove which worked but was dirty. The cable box was kind of wonky and the TV remote had its numbers and letters rubbed off so we had to play "guess a button" for awhile. Overall the room looked rundown and maybe was remodeled last during the Reagan years. We were predicting a troupe of cockroaches to dance across the hard laminate floors for a midnight showing but they never did and this was much appreciated. Lastly i would like to say this; if given the choice between sleeping in a parking lot across the street in the Wawa convenience store parking lot or here at the Economy Inn and Suites.... i would stay here. If the weather were warmer, i would choose my car. Oh yeah.... if you use the toilets make sure that you hold down the handle for a minute or nothing will go down. The staff were frieindly though and I want to emphasizse that. Tim the maintenance man joked with us and seemed to be a good guy. The front desk clerk was pleasant as well. P.S. we did feel safe here.…
Planned on staying for 9 days while getting some work done on boat, stayed less than 5 minutes, I've been to many 3rd world countries and stayed in their hotels, this one made them look like 5 star hotels. Room was filthy, smelled like someone died in there. Black mold was everywhere. There was drunks hanging in parking lot smoking weed, a refrigerator was in parking along with a table and chairs (picnicking happening). Avoid at all costs.
Everyone here is whining and moaning about how crappy this place is, but in actuality what does anybody expect for how cheap this place is. I went with 3 buddies for a night and it was 80 bucks (only 20 each!) and while yeah the room was pretty dirty it is more than serviceable if only used as a means to sleep and shower. The pavilion in the center is a fine place to enjoy a meal, and it's right across the street from wawa! The room even had a fridge too that we could keep our hoagies cold in. Honestly people this place is not THAT bad, if you wanna spend a weekend in Ocean City Jersey this is a great place to crash at night for cheap.
The most disgusting place.Dirty laundry laying out rooms, ashtrays full of cigarette butts on window ledges out side of rooms and non smoking room reeked of smoke. Checked in and checked out right away. If I didn't have to give a star I would give it zero.
The room was ok, the pool was fine, everything was good except for the crackhead maintenance man TIM, who constantly was bumming cigarettes and spare change from all the quests... A total not professional environment! Not professional at all. I told management, and nothing was said because he kept doing it time after time.. I'm there for a vacation, and I'm been hounded for smokes and spare change all day. kidding me... That place does not care about its guests at all, Id rather sleep on a lifeguard stand, than be harrassed all day.
