We chose the HW because it has a pool, which is a rare find in Spring Lake. And the pool area, though small, was clean, well-maintained, well-appointed, and never crowded. My mother and I stayed in room 18 because it was a two room suite on the first floor. The pull out couch (although difficult to open and close) was... More

The top floor, room 14 balcony overlooking the lake is perfect! The Inn is in a great location and only a five minute walk from the beach. Parking is not a problem. Only negative is the breakfast isn't very good. It's very bland, with few choices and a poor, canned fruit option. The coffee is also not great. For a... More

The wife and I truly enjoy coming to the Hewitt and the Spring Lake area. * The Spring Lake beach -- Extremely well taken care of -- Has never been over-crowded -- Within easy walking distance (a couple of blocks) of the hotel * Large, relaxing porch with comfy chairs to sit on * A pool for a quick dip... Great location - walking distance to beach and to town. Tired rooms - carpets need replacing, our lamp had tears in it, the towel rack was falling off the wall...etc. Continental breakfast was poor. If the rooms were half the price, I would say - ok, you get what you pay for but this is very poor value for the... More

Our stay was perfect for us, quiet and relaxing. Our room was so comfortable and decorated for a perfect shore get away, with sea shells, pale yellow walls and very comfortable bed. The very best part for us was the porch, it was huge and overlooked the lake. Spring Lake has always been our favorite place visit and now the... More

This place is a gem in a wonderful town. Very traditional decorations, yet a very comfortable room, even the air conditioning. We had a room with a large deck overlooking the lake. This is one of the few places where the view was actually better in person than on the website. The staff was friendly and courteous.

Expected more for $300+ a night. Decor was drab and seemed like it was from 'Home Goods', not antique to compliment the Victorian mansion and a far cry from the luxury I had anticipated. Also, I didn't get a private deck and my only view was a cement lot. Could have done better with Breakfast, mini donuts and bagels and... More

We stayed in room 14 which is on the 3rd floor and it was awesome! very cool during a heat wave, quiet and had a great terrace with view of lake and even ocean! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The manager even got us badges for the beach when we arrived a little early for check in.

We had a two room suite with a lake view. Our king bed was comfortable, and the suite was large enough for a couple with 2 kids. It is 2 or 3 blocks from the beach. The restaurant on site serves dinner and it is very good. Check-in was businesslike. Overall I would have said great stay except breakfast was... More
