I needed to get away from it all for a day so I chose Carisbrooke. Just a 2 hour drive for me, I've stayed here twice before. Everything was perfect from beginning to end! They were very conscious of social distancing and cleanliness which I really appreciated. My room was beautiful! They let me stay past checkout time because they had no one else coming that day. So perfect, so hospitable. I highly recommend Carisbrooke! The first time my husband and I came here it was for a concert in AC and we both said we'd never chose to stay in an AC casino hotel again! Delicious breakfast and fantastic service too!

I came down to Ventnor for a peaceful winter retreat by the sea, and my stay at the Carisbrooke inn only led to further a general sense of tranquility and refreshment which accompanies a beach trip. The inn is quiet and lovely with old world charm. The staff are truly experts in hospitality and making guests feel welcome. We loved the rooms with jacuzzis and my father who stayed in room 9 enjoyed the built in steam shower and natural light. Each room was decorated stylishly and really made one feel in touch with an elegance and sophistication that are far above what I’d expected. The breakfast was delicious, and I found they have a particular talent for making a fantastic omelette here. At night they turned the fireplace on for us and chatted and then drifted near slumber before retiring to our rooms to fall into a wonderful sleep on the very comfortable king sized beds. I’d go back again...especially in winter when the beach air is extra fresh, and there is a large expansive vista of open sand and water to behold.

We booked the Ocean Suite based on the description and the photos at their website. When we got into our suite it looked nothing like the photos, and did not match the description . The room smelled, there were stains on the chair and carpeting in the living room, neither of which were the same as shown on their website. The sofa had been switched from a white large size to a dumpy blue futon . There were water stains on the dropped ceiling tiles. The appliances were awful with rust stains. Worst of all was the bait and switch aspect. We had booked two night and couldn’t stay a second night cutting short our vacation . The only positives were the location close to the beach, the breakfast, and the ice cream.

My husband and I needed a rest from our three kids, one dog and three cats. We decided to take a long weekend and chose Carisbrooke. We stayed at Carisbrooke years ago before John owned it. We liked it then though LOVED it this time. We stayed in room 7 that had a king-sized bed, chair for reading, a spacious closet and a very relaxing jacuzzi in the bathroom with the option of a rain shower or a regular hand held shower that can be used as a regular shower or a handheld shower. There were two windows that let in lots of light. Because of COVID they did not have their regular Inn breakfasts though they also own the cafe at the corner of the Inn's street where we ordered breakfast. We broke it back to our room one time, ate in the communal dining room another time and the last time ate on the deck staring at the ocean. The food was yummy. During non-Covid times the Inn provided happy hour type food and wine. During Covid the cafe offered an ice cream cone or water ice. We looked forward to that every day. their chocolate and strawberry ice cream was to die for. What a treat! Needless to say we'll be back particularly as we booked three more stays throughout this coming winter. We're obsessed! Thanks John and Company for the best time!

My husband and I are business owners so we don't get away often. We used the month of septembers weekends for romantic getaways. Although the virus still runs our life, some changes had to be made in regards to breakfast at the inn. But even through the pandemic carisbrooke house met all our needs. We prefer bnbs for a homey feeling and that was what we got. Jon the owner, extended his welcome and was available any hours we needed him with questions. The beach and boardwalk was right out the front door. We seen beautiful sand art commemorating 9/11. We plan to stay at Jons carisbrooke inn for a winter beach couple retreat this winter because we enjoyed jons inn so much. Thanks Jon! James & Anna Rando
