I stayed at the Diplomat Hotel in Wildwood for 2 weeks in early August, 2006. Our stay was comfortable. I traveled as a group with about 15 other people. The hotel is in a very good location only about 2 blocks from the beach and boardwalk where a lot of the major attractions are. There are three types of rooms at this hotel. There are standard hotel rooms, one bedroom apartments with a small kitchen (stove, microwave, fridge...no oven), and larger suites with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen...all unites have a balcony...its very small, but you have one. The only negative is that if you travel with a group, there is no where you can all sit together. On one of the floors, there is a room with tables and chairs where you can get together but it is not air conditioned, and there are no open windows after 7pm as they close the access to the pool which you get from that room. This is another negative. The pool opens at 10am and closes at 7pm which was NOT convenient as other hotels around us had guests swimming as early as 7am and as late as midnight. The pool itself is a good size, not huge but decent.

The staff at the hotel is nice except for the manager. Being a manager you would think that as you see your guests you would greet them and wish them a good day. Well the manager saw us constantly, and not once did I hear her voice. She did not make us feel welcome. The front desk staff was helpful during the check in process and during our stay getting us whatever we needed and ALWAYS greeting us.

Would I go back to this hotel? No I dont think so mainly because we always travel in a group, and it is not for groups but other than that, it is a decent hotel to stay in for its cleanliness, and location.

My sisters and myself have stayed at the Diplomat for the past 4 yrs now. The front desk has always been helpful and the stay was a pleasant one. The room this year was still being updated and the carpet was taken out the bedroom.. Thank God for that. No hotel should ever have carpet. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very polite. The pool was clean and the gentleman singing at the pool was entertaining. We look forward to going back again next year for our sisters getaway. BTW I seen people complaining about rust on the refrigerator. The Hotel is by the ocean and the moisture will always be an issue no matter where you stay.

Room (#518) was very clean, modern, well kept, and cozy. The owners were very nice, accommodating, and you can tell they take pride in the condo. Unfortunately the unit is in a low class hotel. While the pool was nice, it was difficult to enjoy it with all the misbehaving children in it. The majority of the guest were loud and obnoxious. We had things stolen off of our car which was parked in the hotel lot. The Diplomat and all the hotels in the area seem to be for the loud music, Hispanic party scene not a relaxing family vacation with young children.

Been coming to Wildwood since my childhood with my parents and always stayed at the Diplomat. My children who are now grown have been here there entire childhood. I’m currently here and this has been a nightmare! My room had no wash clothes in the room and we had to wait till someone came to the front desk after 9am just to get clothes and also an Iron. When we came in the room we immediately went to the fridge just to be overcome with the smell of bleach coming out of it. We have a daughter who has Angelman syndrome and needs her drinks and meds placed in the fridge but we couldn’t out of fear of the fumes. We then went into the bed room to be greeted by a filthy door screen sitting on the side of the bed. If that’s laying there how can i be sure my room is clean. This is a nightmare and after over 30 year of coming here and enjoying wildwood that tradition has died this year. Did I mention that none of the remotes work for the TV smh.....
My wife spoke to management just to be meant with we know who cleans the room and she’s great. Not saying she isn’t but they didn’t wanna address the issue at all. I’m not sure if management changed over the years but that family feel is gone and wouldn’t suggest anyone to visit here. Total disaster

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the diplomat suites, unit 123. It was a nice decorated and updated unit. Everything in the unit is updated. The unit is 1 to 2 blocks from the board walk, beach and wawa. We really enjoyed our stay, specially the pool and will stay here again.

We walked in and left. The room itself when we walked in smelled like marijuana. The pictures of the pool are not the pictures of the actual pool they have. The room was extremely small and it was stated that our room had also had a washer and dryer, which was nowhere present. The ladies at the front desk were extremely rude as well.

We are so sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. Did you reserve a Unit directly through us? Or through a private owner? What was the unit number you were unhappy with?

This condo is in the perfect location for the beach, boardwalk and nightlife. Our room was updated and cozy. The beds were comfortable and the decor was Caribbean breeze white wicker. The view from our balcony allowed us to view the Friday night fireworks, the ocean, boardwalk and the pool. We love knowing that there are grills at the pool which are always available. We've been coming here over 6 years, and we really love this place. We are already booked for next year.We know that each unit is privately owned,so we keep requesting the same room, which we have been very lucky to get. I hope the owners see this review and continue to surprise us with new comforts.

MY OVERNIGHT STAY IN THIS MOTEL WAS A DISASTER.

We checked in. My husband, two adult children and I decided to take a walk on the boardwalk. By 10:00 pm, we returned to our room to discover we did not have clean water to brush our teeth or take a shower. We turned on the shower to see DIRT and DARK YELLOW WATER expelling from the shower, kitchen faucet and bathroom sink. I called the desk-NO answer. Went to the front desk-NO one there. The lobby lights were off and there was a piece of paper taped to the door stating to call a number in case of an emergency or questions. We called the emergency number numerous times-NO answer. There is obviously NO SECURITY AT THIS LOCATION! The next day, we woke to discover the water was even darker! My family and I could not shower once again. Thankfully we brought water bottles with us. We used the water bottles to brush our teeth. We went downstairs to discuss this matter with the front desk receptionist and the manager. They were both RUDE and upset that we complained. They stated they occasionally have this problem and there is nothing wrong with bathing in discolored water. The manager stated that she showered, brushed her teeth and even drank the dirty water...implying there was nothing wrong with it. They became argumentative and arrogant. They did absolutely nothing to compensate us in anyway. They were not even apologetic. In addition ,the room need to be upgraded and the air conditioning not working properly. I travel often with my family and I have never experienced this before. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION!

The price wasn't any cheaper than other places and once we notice ants in the beds, no irons but irons boards, used toilet papers rolls ran out and was told only one per day. We was told no other vacant, no refunds and don't have to stay. I be dam if I would allow them to have free money from me. I used that unit as a smoking place. I wouldn't let my dog stay in that unit

My family and I stayed at the Diplomat, we were in 208 and saw that new owners have it and have started to make some changes to the room. It is a neat and clean place with a lovely pool and now with a singer on the weekend what more can you ask for. I will be sure to tell my friends about this place cause it is close to beach and boardwalk too.
